Ever the gracious host, Mister Price has gifted the meeting with food platters. Eat and be merry before diving into serious discussion, or maybe wait impatiently for the actual discussion to begin!

He's mostly just picking at things, really. He's not the most social type even on his best days, but instead of his usual borderline apathy or mild irritation, Toushirou looks rather sombre. He's . . . had a lot to deal with this past while.

He'd practically jumped at the invite to come and discuss how to deal with the whole alien at the farmhouse thing -- for distraction more than anything else. He needs something practical and useful on his mind. Not . . . everything else.

So there's some impatient pacing on his part, even if other signs of tension may not be visible. They need to just get this started so that he can focus on something else for a change.

Xander arrived with a plastic, throw-away container filled with various flavored strudels and a ingredients list on the inside. You never knew who was allergic to what now-a-days and being cautious wasn't a bad thing. He places it down on the table with the other food and has a brief struggle with opening it. Hopefully it looked inviting to anyone who wanted them.

Once he was done with that, he pulls away from the table and makes sure to keep his recovering arm out of anyone's way. It was mostly hidden beneath the jacket he was wearing and resting inside of a sling. He was going to get himself a drink and find a wall to lean against, to observe everyone else.

Lily had come of her own choice, and without really... speaking to much of anyone on it. But it felt necessary. She needed to know about things, not just for Jasmine's sake, but for everyone's. So it wasn't just Cure Moonlight's memories she had to seek.

What was happening then and there was far more important, and this alien business was certainly towards the top of the list of "most concerning" elements.

Yet having come basically on her own, she now sees a lot of people she doesn't know. Some that she does. But no one as of yet she's terribly close to, and thus... she tries her best not to stick out like a sore thumb.

Of the few Echoes Angeline had thus far received, 'useful' was not a word that applied to any of them. Still, she found herself rushing from the end of her shift to make it to the meeting on time by bus. She certainly had no intentions of involving herself in whatever plan may arise, but thought it wise to nonetheless 'keep up'.

The sight of the food table has her stomach rumbling in anticipation. Not wanting to seem too eager, she takes only one sandwich and goes off to the side to eat it at a decent pace (as opposed to scarf it down like she dearly wants to).

Alas, her stomach demands more food, and so Angeline meekly enters the food-line for a second time and hopes no one realizes she's done so. She snags a few baby carrots and a couple of strudels because they're the first two platters and she must not stay at the table for long lest she increase her risk of someone recognizing her as a return(!).

She then darts out of the line. In her haste, she bumps into someone passing by and automatically squeaks, "Sorry!" as a carrot and a strudel topple off the Styrofoam plate and onto the floor.

RIP carrot and strudel. We hardly knew ye.

Anthony has spent a pleasant small handful of days out and about and fully alive, and as pleasant as those days were to have, dying of burning magical flash-decomposition from the outside in at its conclusion wasn't - much as he'd been braced for it to happen at all the timing had caught him by surprise, still good and jarred, keeping up being in the company of other people with license to leave any sort of guard down seemed more than welcome even beyond the fact that this was a meeting toward a mission.

He's keeping a tad off to the side, however. Not with his hood up, this time - looks more ominous than less where he is, he thinks, but slouched. Not shrinking, exactly - just making the most of some relative quiet, let his racked nerves rest, skimming over the others present with one eye and one socket housing a small red something in the back of it.

Jerking his head a tad quickly or skimming a hint more intently at traces of dissonant sound in his brain - he's gotten as used as he can be to the occasional bouts of hearing things by now but to be certain.

Bakura's not really mingling so much as just... there. Hanging around the outskirts of things, expression oddly serious. This was something big, bigger than the subway searching he had planned. And a lot more could go wrong. And the longer he was involved in things the more people there were in it that he actually liked and didn't want to see hurt.

He's not even bothering with the snacks, just leaning up against the wall with his arms crossed, watching the room.

He's got a respectable amount of food on his plate. For now he's not touching any of it - lingering against the wall by the food table, always a good position from which to scout ahead before mingling, so to speak, and doing just that. Looking over the group, seeing who he can place from what he's seen of the network and taking it as a sampling of the types involved - about as little rhyme or reason evident in person as through numbers.

Looks over at someone breaking into enough of a radius for conversation and offers a "So..

"What's the plan, so far? 'Scuse me, I'm new, all I understand is that our alien antagonist should be behind a secret door in this farmhouse of ours."

There are also a number of sodas and water bottles, which Elian is doublechecking the supply of right now. Nothing alcoholic - there's children about, after all, and heaven forbid he help with underage drinking.

Once he's done with ensuring that there's plenty of drinks, he'll doublecheck the food. Having rarely so much as stepped outside since his incident with the Blood Keys, Elian is treating this practically as a party, and is determined to have it go well.

The Dians were feeling pretty good now that Mrs. Harvent was out of the house. True, things weren't exactly looking... fantastic. But they were confident in the powers of friendship and teamwork.

They can be found happily munching on some delightful food as well as chatting up anyone that might pass them by. After all, everyone here was a member of the network and therefore HONORARY FRIEND in their eyes. EVERYONE.

Yes, there was indeed another kid at this meeting. There would be no way he wouldn't join in on Operation Alien Hunt (yes he is calling it this for the time being).

Currently, he's sitting by the sidelines waiting for the actual meeting to start. He wasn't interesting in getting to know people here. The network talks were enough for him. But, this was something more important. Planning on how to defeat the aliens and all that. So he could put up with a few others of social interaction.

For the moment he was just drawing in a notebook he had brought. His doodles consisting of "plans of attack." Of course, they're not the greatest looking or even actually plausible. One of them consists of fireworks and an elephant. At least they were creative?

No use planning for war on an empty stomach! Marisa arrived only a few minutes before the actual discussion began, and spent her remaining time stacking a paper plate with crackers, meat, cheese, veggies and all that other food platter goodness to eat while listening to the plans being made.

Anders has brought food as well, anticipating that whatever is provided probably won't be organic, fair-trade, heirloom, and/or vegetarian. (He's okay with milk, eggs, and honey, provided they have been produced on tiny hippie farms.)

His parents can hardly object to just planning, not when they already OKed a reconnaissance mission (probably because Alex didn't give them all the details). So he's here, sampling a little bit of everything from the platters, but concentrating his energy on dessert.

He doesn't know how he's going to spin it to get out of the house for the mission they're about to plan, but he definitely intends to volunteer, at the very least, all four of his eyes.

[Luke shows up slightly late. He slinks around Elian's house awkwardly, eventually following the sounds of conversation to the basement, and entering while drawing as little attention to himself as possible. He's wearing an odd assortment of clothes. A normal, modern but slightly too big winter jacket over what appears to be a bright green tunic and white tights.

He slouches around the edges of the room, listening in to people's conversations, but not making any attempts to join any of them. If there's a time where volunteers are asked for he'll quietly put his hand up, but otherwise he'll keep to himself as much as possible.]

Or perhaps, eat and wait impatiently for the actual discussion to begin. Social activity tires Miranda (or, to everyone here, "Jacqli") severely, so she intends to get as little of it as she can.

Of course, for most people this woman was a total unknown, having never before shown her face over the network - dressed in all black. She leaned against the wall and tried to act as closed-off as she could.

L has never been one to say no to free food. He's rangy and unhealthy-looking and he plucks at the various platters every now and then, but his attention is on the people surrounding him. Though he stays near the edges of the room, no one passes him without an observant, lingering glance in their direction.

Luke is a large reason L is here, but he's also still riding high on the success of his first actual case in Locke City, and his curiosity is as insatiable as anyone else's.

Soren and Annika's dad didn't have any problem with them going to a planning meeting, so they both get there just about on time. Soren of course isn't the most social of people, so he ends up around the outskirts of the meeting, snacking on things and somewhat awkwardly waiting around for things to start. Anyone who's seen him before may be surprised by the horns he has now, or the fact that his bizarre eyes are for once not covered with contacts or shades.

After a bit of awkward waiting he ends up just playing some kind of game on his 3DS while he waits.

Hajime usually isn't comfortable at parties. This is no exception; he's not a fan of big social gatherings. Still, it's network people, and he he should be more comfortable around a network group than he'd be just a general random party cross-section of people. He's been around long enough and is well-known enough as "that guy who turns into the big bug" that there's really nothing to worry about on the social front. Really, that's not what's bothering him this time.

Today, if he's antsy, well, he's dragged his cousin along with him. It's Jack's first chance to get to know some of the others on the network, and Hajime's seen Jack work a room at a party before. He doesn't think Jack will have any trouble with the party schmoozing part of things, but he has to wonder how Jack's going to react to the alien fighting and superpowers part of things.

So he'll engage in his usual party-going behaviors. Grabbing a small plate of food and sticking to some spot along a wall somewhere seems best.

Innocent party-goers beware, if you're not careful, Arthur will swing by, cheerfully slap you on the back, and loudly say something like "OUTRAGEOUS PARTY, ISN'T IT?"

It is as someone is mentioning the idea of killing the alien that one David Proud interrupts.

"The snakes are done when No One dies."

Proud's voice is projected and matter-of-fact. He stays off to the side of the meeting, looking into it dead-on.

"I built them for protection. No One's the enemy. When their job's done, or if they don't have a job anymore, they explode."

SNAKES

Each snake statue will have their own thread. The snakes appear to be made of solid marble, but are in fact made of the scales of Wise Snake and thus more durable than marble. Rule of thumb: if a character possesses super strength, they will be able to put a crack into a statue.

The statues hit hard. If an unarmored character takes a direct blow from a statue, expect bones to break. Characters with super endurance will fare better against direct blows.

The statues cannot be hypnotized or mind-controlled.

All of the statues save one are approximately twice the height of a man (~10-12 feet long). They do not have fangs.

If this is a character’s first encounter with a snake statue since David Proud’s capture, then they will receive an plot Echo from these statues.

SNAKE 1

BOOM. This statue breaks right through the floor of Elian’s basement (sorry, Elian’s basement). It whips its serpentine head to the side, knocking whoever happens to be in its path off their feet, and then slithers out the rest of the way. Watch out for that tail!

When the chaos begins, Elian's first instinct is to get out, followed closely by get the rest out. Familiar unease and stress rises, even if he's forcing himself to deal with it, but as his heart starts to beat faster and faster there's a sudden-

Burning? Itching? Twisting in his skin that has him gasp in startlement more than pain, all but falling back against the wall, quickly going pale. What-

What's happening!?

It's perhaps the uncertainty that feeds his disorientation more than anything else; as it is, were anyone to cast a look in his direction, it would be clear he's not in a good state. With fingers clawed and grasping at his own skin-

It's likely a very good thing he keeps his nails trimmed.

Arthur was pretty focused on trying to get everyone out to safety at this point, and he couldn't help but notice poor Elian going down. Keeping the old people safe was a priority, especially the host of what had been a fine party until the snakes arrived! "Great Scott!" He rushed over to Elian's side, crouching down next to the old man. "Hang in there--I'll get you out of here!"

PROUD'S KIDNAPPING

As per the plans laid out here, a small group of reincarnates will be kidnapping Proud and taking him to a more secluded area in the hopes of avoiding snaky, pink destruction at Elian’s house.

This sixth snake statue will be restricted to characters who have not yet participated in any of the five snake threads.

The snake and Proud will have their own separate sub-threads happening concurrently.

SNAKE 6 [Restricted]

All of the chaos allows a sixth snake statue to appear unnoticed. It breaks right through the basement wall, about twenty feet from where David Proud is located. Rather than blindly attack any who might be near by, this statue has its sights on Proud – not to harm, but to protect.

This is bad news for the people who are trying to get to him first.

GETAWAY CAR??

Intangibility is some way to travel. After thanking Danny, Michelle makes a beeline for her car, thankfully still safely parked by the curb.

It would be entirely unremarkable if not for the sunny orange paint job (so much easier to find in a parking lot than red, white or blue!)- a small, practical little car, a decade or so old but well cared-for. Five people (including herself) might be a squeeze; more than that and they'll be sitting on each other's laps, but it beats being snakemurdered.

As she agreed to do, she gets the car started and warmed up while she waits for her charges to arrive (by Danny or otherwise.)

Wheatley knew--perhaps better than anyone--that he would be completely useless in the event of snakemurder, so he was quick to high-tail it out of there. In the growing pre-fight chaos he slipped out of the house in an effort to get to his moped and get away as fast as possible, leaving the actual fighters to do the actual fighting.

It was difficult not to miss the orange car on his way out, which meant that he spotted the driver not long after. Yes. Great. Michelle. She would most certainly know what to do.
