town meeting, alien breaking hoa rules

Somehow, the thought of throttling David Proud was becoming more and more appealing as time passed. But as much as he wanted to give in to those dark temptations, he resists. They didn't need to fight among each other when a greater threat was on the way.

He exhales through gritted teeth, almost growling while keeping his focus on David. His frame is tense, almost ready for a fight as one fist clenches tightly. He was not going to raise to Proud's bait.

"Look." Kari stepped in. "We didn't do this. You direct them to protect you, and when something goes wrong, you blame us. I know fighting these things is hopeless, but we can't do nothing either. You may have been an enemy, but you're also one of us, and you're not going to try and sow discord here. Either we run or we fight back. We're not just going to die.

So explain."

[massivescale]

His explanation is in four words, "I didn't do anything."

And - with the right timing for hard, explosive punctuation - there's a rumbling, churning crunch.

In the next moment, Lily is fumbling for her phone, sending out a text to Annie, Winter, Jasmine, and Russel. Not much time for focusing on it, but it reads:

'at meeting
snakes coming'

And then she spins around, primarily to Danny.

"I don't care what he says, we need to leave!"

"Right, and now!" With a nod, he grasps both Lily and Marisa, his first two escape volunteers, by the arms and turns the three of them intangible before turning to make a run for it out of the basement to safety. If Proud has any decent reason to keep them all down there, Danny neither cares nor wants to hear it, not while there are defenseless people who could get hurt.

Marisa couldn't help but squeeze her eyes shut through the whole thing, not opening them until she popped out in relative safety on the front lawn. She looked a bit dazed.

"That was a hell of a thing..."

Lily did similarly, and just sort of... stares around her for several moments.

Well, that was... new.

"That's putting it mildly..."

"We're safe though. Well, safeish..."

She kind of trailed off at the end, as her eyes traveled to the side of the house where a giant stone snake was climbing up wall and into a window!

Marisa stood up and ran, fishing in her pocket again for one of her toys...

"Okay, well, neither did we? So let us get the non-combatants out. Including you, unless you think you can do something to stop them coming at us. This isn't really the time for rampant paranoia and accusations, dude." Seriously. LISTEN TO THAT RUMBLING, CHURNING CRUNCH.

"This isn't the time for blame!"

With that crunch, Mac has sprung into full on action mode. He sees Danny take the people out to safety as he moves towards the door, hammer held steady.

"Alright, everyone. Time to rumble."
