town meeting, alien breaking hoa rules

What: The Numbers discuss how to go about addressing the alien in the farmhouse. Nothing could go wrong, certainly?

Danny blinks for a moment, but then stands up. He's terrified of what's going to happen here any second now, but at the very least, his powers can be useful in some capacity.

"I-I can do that! I can get people out of here safely if they need it!" He looks around the room. "Who needs out of here?"

"I DO!"

Marisa had the Mini-Hakkero in hand, but she wasn't crazy enough to actually USE it in this small of a space. "I'm worse than useless down here. If I do anything I'll probably bring the building down on our heads!"

Dammit! Lily grips her hands into fists, frustration building.

"I can fight, but I can't fight monsters... Not yet," she mutters, frustration evident. "I... I do. I can't be of help to anyone here..."

Again.

"Okay, got it!" The urgency in everyone's tones has made him a little shaky, but he keeps it down enough to offer his hands out to both of the girls. "Grab on and don't let go, okay?"

Mini Hakkero: back in pocket, Broom in one hand, Danny in other hand. "Okay!"

"I can't fight, I can heal, I can't - " This was meant to be a relatively safe meeting in a basement, that was the entire reason Sierra agreed to come.

"Okay--okay, don't worry, I'm going to get you out of here!" By this point Danny had already pulled Marisa and Lily out, and the snakes had started coming through, but thankfully Sierra was still safe. Danny doesn't like it--this feels too much like playing with fire, with people's lives at stake, but he has to focus on the fact that no matter what could have happened, in reality she was still fine.

"Hold on!" At this point Danny doesn't feel like he can just offer a hand, so he figures that the exclamation is enough warning. He grabs Sierra by the forearm and turns the two of them intangible and turns back to pull her out of the house.

THANK GOD. Sierra's not lying about the not-fighting thing: her echoes have all been cosmetic, vague memories, or a spell for healing. Technically three spells for healing, now that the snakes have started coming in, but she has no time to go over what she has or hasn't gained int he past few minutes, just feeling sheer relief as she's dragged out of the house by Danny.

Luckily she was at his intangibility party, so the experience, while weird, doesn't add to her panic. When they're outside, she realizes she should say something before he goes back - because, well, he has to. "Thanks. I - if anyone gets hurt, I'll stick around out here. I can heal, I have magic for that."

So, you know, if you bring anyone like that to her she can...try to do something about it?

Lily gives an irritable sigh, but otherwise doesn't complain. She places a hand on his shoulder and nods.

"Let's go."

[massivescale]

"NOBODY!"

Proud hasn't been hearing anyone, or seeing anything, his tone climbs and so does the speed, the intentness, and the wild-eyed-ness of the scanning. "What did you do? Anyone?!"

He's fixing on very specific parties one by one as he guesses at them - flings a dagger with a look at Xander, pins Marisa, takes a scoot toward Sophie with a quick teeth-showing opening of his mouth as if to make a demand quickly shut up with a rapid shake of his head -

All the while, a buzzing is picking up around the basement. Very fast.

[metalbent]

Taking a scoot towards her with what intent, man? Sophie turns his way, looking wary, and...wow, that buzzing is not good at all. "Is "Anyone" another one of you guys, or do you think we actually wanted this to happen?" Snark is always a good fall-back.

"Why do you think any of us did anything? We're all in the same amount of trouble here!"

He's giving Proud a rather skeptical look, his eyes narrowing.

"What do any of us have to gain bringing them here!?"

Fucking buzzing, that's just making him more irritated.

[massivescale]

"I'm not asking if you meant to do it, I'm asking what you did. Their order's to protect me and they're not just happening to wander here."

A bit of that notion is transmitting into the heads of the assembled - a thought that if you'll fight, you will die...

"Shouldn't you go with Danny?" Octavia trots back towards the main group, Alan and Walter now in tow. "Like. I know they're not going to intentionally hurt you. But collateral accidental damage! And stuff."

[massivescale]

"Nobody's going anywhere."

He hasn't quite noticed the preparation over by Danny and his phase-out group to do just that.

Mac gets a chill down his spine, but he grits his teeth and steels his nerves. There's other people to protect besides himself.

"I don't think anyone here's threatened your safety. So I'm not sure why they'd be charging here if they're supposed to protect you. It doesn't add up."

[wonk]

"Echo shit," Roxy theorizes. "Maybe they're attracted to us like the police dogs."

With the sudden commotion of preparation for the statues, David's demand and look caused Xander to stop from adding to Danny's assistance. Instead, he turned his attention to David and moves over to the other man.

"We didn't do any thing." He states with venom, agitation clear on his face when he hears that awfully familiar buzzing sound. "You said they were suppose to protect you, right?! Is this why they're here now?!"

It was taking a considerable amount of restrain from acting against David Proud.

Venom stated with venom spat. "Should be," is his response with an absolute glower - a challenging or pinning one.

[dominateartimus]

Somehow, the thought of throttling David Proud was becoming more and more appealing as time passed. But as much as he wanted to give in to those dark temptations, he resists. They didn't need to fight among each other when a greater threat was on the way.

He exhales through gritted teeth, almost growling while keeping his focus on David. His frame is tense, almost ready for a fight as one fist clenches tightly. He was not going to raise to Proud's bait.

"Look." Kari stepped in. "We didn't do this. You direct them to protect you, and when something goes wrong, you blame us. I know fighting these things is hopeless, but we can't do nothing either. You may have been an enemy, but you're also one of us, and you're not going to try and sow discord here. Either we run or we fight back. We're not just going to die.

So explain."

Michelle has been listening silently through most of the discussion in a building state of "holy freaking crap." She wanted to know what was going on? It's safe to say she got more than she bargained for.

She stands up just after Danny and quietly clears her throat before speaking up: "I can, too. Don't know how many people we can jam in there, but my car's outside."

He blinks momentarily, not expecting that response (although in hindsight, why wouldn't he? Cars make perfect sense, people had to get here somehow.)

"I-I can get you out to your car quickly."

"That would be great."

She looks around the room. "Who's coming with us?"

[gogoghostpowers]

"There are a couple others, but even if people don't come now, I...I think I'm gonna come back, to see if anyone needs to get out when things are, uh. When things start getting messy. But, the sooner we can get up, the better."

That said, he offers out a hand to her. Then he realizes she probably doesn't know what he's doing. "Uh--just take my hand, or hold on to me, so I can get us out."
