[Kara's staring seriously into the camera when it clicks on, hair pulled up into a messy bun and arms spread business-like across her desk. on her left is an impressive stack of children's valentines (you know the kind, the ones with cartoon characters you buy in boxes for the class party) and on her right is an equally impressive bag of fun size chocolate.]

Greetings, fellow clubmates! I am sorry to be taking up your attention like this, but considering the date I am afraid that it cannot be avoided.

[the way she's speaking makes it seem like this is a life or death scenario, but then she keeps going and...]

In only a few days' time the Day of Valentines will be upon us! We do not celebrate such a holiday at home, but I have done the research on it and know very well that not receiving an affectionate greeting card can cause irreparable damage to one's soul and ruin lives!

[that's how it seemed in the many, many movies she watched that touched on the subject, at least]

I do not wish for my dear Numbered friends to suffer such a tragic fate! There were a great deal of charming cards and sweets on sale which I have taken the liberty of purchasing, and I implore you to allow me to write you at least one of them!

We may arrange for a drop-off point if you are leery of having your identity revealed, but please do not let pride keep you from accepting it! There is only so much time in which I can make these deliveries. I promise that my penmanship is excellent and any good tidings I write will stave off the horrible life-crushing feelings!

I got to thinking, there are a lot of us animals on this network. I think it would be good if we could all meet in person somehow.

[Even if the cat probably still wants to eat him.]

Being an intelligent animal can be hard if you want to stay one step ahead of the humans who might want to put you back in a zoo or something like that. There are things you need to keep in mind!

Plus, some of us have been intelligent for longer than others, and some of us might know things that others don't. We can share information on things we've figured out! Like I know how to ride the bus and to read maps. I can teach you in case you get lost! We should stick together and pool our resources!

The only problem is to figure out where and how to meet. We need a place to use as our base of operations! I'd volunteer Thomas's apartment, but I don't know how hard it would be for the horses to get into the building and use the elevator.

right. so. iinformation sharing. i was talking to someone about that and uh.. i guess there's a ton of people here remembering the same place as me and i just thought there should be some attempt at compiling what we all remember to try and get a better context for those memories.

i think for some reason the popular term for our "group" is "soulbonded"? not sure why.. exactly, but if you have an echo induced text color preference or odd typing habits (double i's or zeros instead of o's) then you might be part of a group of us who remember being aliens before. another thing we all seem to have in common is strange blood colors.

if you are wary of receiving any pulsechos please do not read the responses to this post, however, if you feel you may be remembering something similar to what i've described so far, sharing what you do remember of your past/alternate self's life would really help us in better compiling/understanding the information we have already.

as for what i've remembered:

-several individuals: two with varying greenish blood colors, one with bright red, all adults.
-one, is named signless. i haven't remembered the names of the other two.
-red guy died
-i got turned into a spaceship
-also our planet was ruled by a total bitch who liked enslaving psionics and turning them into spaceships.

cause you know, not having autonomy is a totally cool thing, i guess.

and yeah that's pretty much it. i know aria said something about their being only twelve different blood colors? but that's pretty much all i've got. hopefully we can piece some more info together? let me know.

[Julien considered making another text post. In the end it's audio, his voice heavy with resignation but calm. You would not know he had a breakdown over this.]

So you know, Numbers Club, Doctor Aaron Strider's gone off-network. Again. Looks like it happened a couple days ago. Somehow, the athelas plants are still around, but none of the other stuff. I'll have to test to see if they still have their - properties.

[he sighs, careful not to let it get too deep.] I know we have this... unwritten policy of just letting people be when this happens, let them get on with normal lives. But I talked to him last time about what's going on. I talked to him again now, and honestly I'm going to keep him informed when I can. I'll swear by whatever you want that he's not going to the police with anything, and he doesn't really share information period. Well, we know that. [A tinge of bitterness showed there, just for a second.]

If you can't go to a normal hospital or wherever, you can still come here, to the LSR. Doesn't matter if he's in or not.

Listen up.

Especially you, Sho, because this is entirely your fault. [Yup, she's saying this here because of reasons. Just wait a moment.] Remember telling those kids about your Karate Bugman superhero guy on Halloween?

Guess whom they went to catch now. [If this was voice, she would just sound really tired now. Not because she has slept so much, because this is a whole different kind of stress than what she handles normally, even more when she thinks of what will have to happen the next day...] They have been missing since around three. Police and cohorts are useless as usual, but I've been able to track those little pests down. Sometimes you just need to ask the right people the right questions. [Even when that is expensive. She will never admit to how she has actually not only put time but also money into locating those little brats. ...and is going to put in even more. If anyone asks, it is because she fears that she'll get in trouble if they vanish, since it was her who encouraged their speculations about this superhero. It's what she's telling herself.]

Anyway. They seem to have concluded that bugs live in the sewers, and have last been seen entering and inside sewers and subway tunnels and similar exciting places. The last localization that I have is an hour old and in one of the less-used subway tunnels. We know what that means. They need to be gotten out of there quickly, and civilians are hardly the best choice for that. [Not only because she doesn't want to get into any contact with police, or answer questions. Also because she heavily doubts that they would be as effective or even be inclined to do something, if it interferes with plans... after all none of the children have parents, or parents of power, behind them.]

Me and Sho, who will obviously take responsibility and go down there, will meet up at William Street Station tomorrow at seven. Look for a van blasting the Tinymon theme. Everyone who wants to see those little pests not being eaten by moving snake statues on their watch, report there, and as quickly as possible.

Because there's no space for useless people here, and the numbers should make sense and such. We need fighters. Then people who can handle and calm down kids, and also carry at least one. And also someone who can heal. Lastly, someone who can drive the van [just don't ask her why she has one and how it got there if she needs a driver] and will wait with it at the surface for us in case we end up somewhere where we have to get away from quickly. Everyone who comes down there with us needs to be prepared to the best of their abilities, even if they are assigned to handling the kids.

[OOC: Please, if your character participates, have them check in here so they can figure out ICly what their task will be and such.

While the rescue mission has enough participants to work now, up to two one fighter can still be added if someone wants their character in, so don't feel shy, they're welcome! All slots are now full. The information post for this player-plot is here.

Hi, uh, everyone.

[Bertholdt's never broadcasted his voice to the Network before, but he sounds the same to anyone who'd know him, probably, despite sounding a bit more nervous than usual.]

I haven't posted on here in a while, I guess... things have been busy. I hope everyone had a good Christmas. Er, holiday you celebrate. Or don't celebrate. Whatever.

[He swallows, and there's a sound of his fingers tapping against something.]

I guess I just wanted to... check up on everyone. Things have been... really bad lately, so...

But I guess good things... can come out of this whole thing too, sometimes. [His voice grows sheepish.] Ryan and I... are engaged now. S-so there's that.

It's my birthday too, so... I'm just glad I managed to live another year, you know? All of this is awful, but...

[He trails off, before he clears his throat and tries to focus.]

Just-- I hope everyone is doing okay.

[Another video from Killian that doesn't start with his face. This one starts with all the work he picked up in his last post spread out on a table, ready and waiting. A few pieces are wrapped but he's out of paper so.

For a week's work, it's all pretty damn fancy (and vaguely Celtic/Norse in design). Cheap materials, but fancy. His bow from before is also on the table and a set of armguards are on top of it. The bow is obviously not modern. The guards are, however.]

If you placed an order with me last week, it's done. Just tell me when you want me to deliver it or when you want to pick it up or who I should mail it to.

[He sounds much better than he did last week. He shifts the camera so he's in view.]

And...thanks to anyone who commissioned stuff. With all this and a few other sales I had more than enough to cover Mom's funeral. Which, um, was yesterday.

[Yep, still hurting from that. It takes a moment before he can speak again]

Anyway, sometime during all of this I got that bow on the table there [and here he picks it up] and I was wondering if anyone knows a place I could get arrows for it that won't ask where I got it or if anyone's had an arrow-making pulse recently or something.

There are some essays and blog posts being shared on the web, through various mediums like Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook; all the usual sort, really. On the surface they're only so different from the other essays and blogposts about some vague threat on the horizon, but what's interesting about these is that they're getting out there. And for the Numbers club in particular, those who read them may find things being quite familiar.

THE CHILDREN'S WAR )

A IS FOR ASSAULT )

THUNDERCLOUDS )

All of them have the same author; "Gabriel Alder". Research into him (or her?) may find that (other than the various results on Google) a few antiwar essays were written in the 60s & 70s under that name (with a similar writing style, no less), and further research may show that it's also the name of an American soldier who died during WWII- but other than that it seems to have no particular connection to one thing or another.

Um. Yeah. So if...if I'm not, uh, around then...that's. That's why. To help pay...you know, all that stuff, I'm--I got a pulse a bit ago and I can make really fancy jewelery now. [He reaches over and grabs a sample, holding it up to the camera while not looking at it. She's booted up a voice modifier on her laptop for extra caution--though that may make it a touch difficult to differentiate between the two people speaking.]

So. This isn't the first time my friend and I have come across this thing. Personally speaking I was a little freaked out about it.

[ Kavi is not much better off. he has no issue with the extra precautions taken. they do not know what this is really all about. no reason to take further risks by revealing their identities so quickly. ]

Not to mention that everything that we've read so far is... It's a little hard to believe it's not some elaborate prank or hoax.

Given how this [What to even refer to it as] network? Is accessed, and some of the things we have read we've been able to figure out that it isn't so. So I guess what we're seeking are answers, if anyone is willing to share them.

Answers and maybe assurance that we are not losing our minds. [ chuckle. this is nerve wracking! ]

Yea that. That would be nice. [Her laugh is more just a unsure huff.]

Assuming that the B grade horror theatrics are over, I'd like to move on to more discussable matters. I suppose you could take my oncoming question literally or metaphorically, depending on your perspective, although it doesn't matter so long as you have an answer for it.

[ The camera's pointed at a precious cutie scottie dog dressed in the most ridiculous dog outfit imaginable. The dog is currently licking its crotch. Karson's speaking from behind the camera. ]

Hey, network for assholes. Today's the most important day of the year, and I swear to god, if a single one of you is completely unaware of what day it is, I'm going to vomit all over this screen, and then, instead of guessing the day, you'll get to guess what I had for lunch.

So, you know what day it is today? It's America Day-- a day to celebrate the glorious freedom we could have if we'd all stop voting for Obama. A day to celebrate how, a fuckton of years ago, a bunch of powerful white men dressed in embarrassingly racist Native American costumes and wasted a lot of tea by dumping into a bay, killing all wildlife that might have lived there. It's to celebrate a revolution that was started by the murder of a freeman named Crispus Attucks, and it's to celebrate the first successful democracy ever created by a civilized nation. It's the day where we should all stand up for our rights and fight to bear arms!

[ The dog gets up and wanders over to Karson. He stops his rant for a moment to deliver a few pets. The dog promptly lies down and rolls over, demanding belly rubs. Karson delivers. ]

So get your fireworks, hold them high, and set that shit on fire--- except don't do it while it's in your hand, that's incredibly dangerous. Enjoy the light show tonight, and remember that thousands of people have died horrible, gangrene-filled deaths for freedom with a dash of democracy. God bless America, or whatever higher leveled deity you might worship.

I'd ask if this was all some kind of weird joke or something, but it looks like people have beat me to that particular punch. Or is this some kind of online roleplaying thing? [Making a video post is pretty rare for Davin, but rather than risk looking like an idiot by typing weird, he's decided to just be his extremely awkward self on video instead. Have I mentioned he's yellow? Because he's yellow, very Jaundiced looking.]

So last time I got a bunch of people together from here, we all got attacked by those animals. I guess that doesn't make sense to all of you, but.. With the fourth coming up I figured that.. I should at least remind people, it's not always safe to go out in large groups.

That being said, if you've got any kind of weird physical defect going on because of whats happened, or. I dunno if you're a stray animal without a home or something, there's a space at my place?

Having to be alone on holidays kind of sucks, so I thought it might be nice if you don't want to be by yourself for whatever reason.

[And then he has to look away, cause he really does hate being recorded in anyway. There's only a short second before he mumbles again, while still looking away.]

And before someone mentioned pooling money to buy a safehouse or something. I think I found a cheap place, a kind of warehouse loft place, if anyone is still interested in helping with that.

Let me know.

[She had been relaxing at home, a cup of green tea in one hand and a laptop propped in front of her when the numbers seemed to come full force at her again. It was easy to type them out, a quick string on her screen--and it changed things.

The first few things she sees are just messages. Questions and answers about these numbers from people she's never met. But she presses past it. There's something about a mine and wills and suddenly Leola is not sure what she's stumbled into.

Her typing is hesitant at first.
]

Did I stumble into a forum? I suppose I could have picked up the numbers from one of my students and this is an elaborate joke. A marketing campaign for a movie maybe? It's clever though I'm not sure what I'm supposed to get from this. A movie about people trapped in mines or something? Isn't that a little off? Too soon?

And really subliminal messaging was proven to be impossible despite what fiction leads you to believe. So I'm not sure how I came by these numbers. Perhaps you could enlighten me. Or I suppose I could just ignore whatever this is.

Classes are out for the summer, I think I'd rather read than get sucked into some silly forum goose chase.
