[General Log] Tuning Towers, Sept. 22 onward.

Who: Any and all!
Where: The site of Tuning Towers (and/or en route accordingly), at the heart of the business district in Locke City's downtown.
When: September 22nd and onward.
What: Following that mysterious buzzing sound to its strongest point! Perhaps you made plans with numbered associates for a trip downtown, or perhaps you went a-wandering alone to follow the noise yourself - surely you'll hardly be the only one.



[Tuning Towers, the third-largest building in the United States and Locke City's most prominent feature, from a tourist perspective in one sense and quite literally by another - look up and marvel, if you will, should you not be a bit too distracted by the circumstances.

Even if you needed to focus to tune into the buzzing in your brain at the start of whatever trip you took, you'll find that by the time you come close enough to the tower to feel a rising sensation of tremors beneath your feet - unnoticed, as far as one can tell, by the crowds, which almost never lack presence around the building - you'll be able to hear it very easily without even trying. It isn't terribly intrusive in the first couple of days after the return of the lights in the sky. As September moves on and into October, however, the intensity will grow all the more overbearing.

It is, indeed, even worse if you enter the building - only the ground floor is accessible to the unauthorized by the tower's maintenance and management or personnel of the companies making use of it. Apart from that, among the indoor crowds, you'll find nothing unusual on the ground floor - and if you'll find that the buzzing loses its strength the higher you go if you take a trip up to one of the observation floors.]

[ It's enough for her to figure it out only because 1) the stupid light show gave everyone something apparently and 2) she's got enough friends with awkward physical mutations at this point to cotton on. ]

We will find you the best choices! It's really too bad Indiana Jones never wore sunglasses, or I would say that would be the coolest possible style to acquire.

Of course that's okay! [ She's going along cheerfully. Aria has never minded wandering around cities. She's just using her ears instead of a gps, this time. ] Soooooo, guess what I got!

[ It's weird to walk around not talking. So she is talking as she leads. ]

Somehow I'm not surprised at all.

I don't know, some kind of weird memory of something? [he doesn't really mind the conversation actually, even though they've only known each other for like a month he still legitimately enjoys talking to her.]

I'm going to marry Indiana Jones. [ NEVER MIND that he's fictional. ...this isn't remotely serious but apparently Aria feels the need to say this as long as Indiana Jones came up. Because she...brought him up. ]

...That wasn't the guess what, that was just me saying that. And also sort of but that is not what I was going to make you guess!! [ Actually she is trying to ignore her last memory because she's pretty sure she's going to go insane but that aside ] I got an account! For Minecraft. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but I am doing it!

[okay he just laughs at that. aria you are so weird. not that he can judge but you know, whatever.]

Okay, that's awesome. As soon as we're done here we're playing for sure. I'll teach you everything I know! Which is pretty much everything Minecraft ever.

You're the Minecraft master, is what you're saying? And yes, see! I knew you'd like that.

[ She pauses on a street corner before taking a right. It seems stronger over here... ]

Yeah that's basically what I'm saying. I'm the best there is when it comes to Minecraft. And of course I like it because playing Minecraft with you is better than any of the weird shit that I've gotten out of this so far so I think that should count as a good thing.

[yeah, he's just following along while they ramble and wander. the voices make it harder for him to pinpoint it so as long as she's not seeming lost he's just gonna follow her.]

I have to agree. I mean - I don't mind things I get in general, but I think maybe I'd like to...not. Get more things. For a bit.

[ she means she remembers flipping the hell out on Rose and she's not 0kay with it. ]

Yeah, not getting things would be nice. For a while. Forever maybe, even? I just really don't want to have to become a hermit.

[okay well let him think past the voices and-] Woah, it is! Okay well, that means we're getting close, right?

I am starting to think I'd have to become the same. I guess we could, um, play Minecraft hermitly? Is that a thing? I mean, assuming neither of us went crazy.

[ Aria looks around, curious. ]

...I think so. I kind of want to head over to the Towers.

[ Which are pretty much right nearby, and when she looks at them it's almost worse... ]

It wouldn't be too bad really, as long as we get internet access and electricity.

[the towers...? when she says that he looks over too, considering that] They won't have, like. Police there waiting for us, right? I mean it's a normal building, so normal people should still be going too?

[eras]

[ Aria widens her eyes on purpose. ]

But we're just doing a school report on the towers! You can't get in trouble for that. They're a public tourist trap!

[okay and now he's laughing] Okay true! I just wanted to make sure, you know. Don't wanna have to explain the cops to dad if I can help it.

[so now he'll actually take the lead heading over towards the towers]

I am absolutely against being hauled in for anything by the cops!! For future reference, I mean. It is a thing I actively avoid.

[ She tags along after, looking...still upbeat, although wow that sound is irritating. ]

...Ha. "Tuning" towers. ...Okay that's not that funny.

Good. I'm not hanging out any more if cops start being a part of it, that kind of ruins it for me. [being terrible and obnoxious is only for online, obviously]

[and with them getting closer and it being louder, he doesn't even have to ignore the voices to hear it now which is... well on the one hand, it drowns them out, but on the other hand, it's really annoying.]

You're right, it's not. [it's obvious he's teasing though even though he's finally getting annoyed by the noise.] Why would they even do something here, you'd think someone normal would notice.

No worries! I do not actually do illegal things all that often. I think I have done...one thing. And when I do those things, I always have a reasonable explanation for why I might be doing them.

...That doesn't sound that exciting, but I think adventurers have to be practical and pragmatic before they're exciting, or their careers won't last all that long.

[ She sticks out her tongue in the height of maturity. Aria is clearly two years older than Soren. Yes. ] You would think!

...But really, I don't think they would. No one outside of us can hear the, you know.

I think being safe is probably better than exciting, at least when it comes to breaking the law. Because I'm pretty sure being in jail is way more boring than being safe.

[she's clearly the older one, yeah. no doubt about it.]

But still, you think someone would notice whatever's doing it or... whatever? I don't know.

I'm not sure I want to go in but you probably do, so sure. Let's go in.

You'd think! I was through this area the other day - that's why I texted you - but...the person I was with didn't hear a thing.

She actually asked if I was getting enough sleep and ordered me to avoid soda and caffeine, so.

And of course I do! It would be silly to come all the way here and then not go inside. [ At least they don't have to pay money to go inside, okay. That's a plus. ]

Maybe we're all just imagining it. We're all really going crazy, or crazier, and soon enough we'll all end up committed or something. [he doesn't really seem too serious about that though. only a little serious.]

Then we'd better go in, I don't want to deny you your adventure. [it's a good thing too, he might not have agreed to come along if they'd had to pay. anyways yep heading on over and whatnot now, right along with her.]

...Could be. [ That's not her usual response to that sort of thing, but. What if. ] I think maybe I used to be.

...Anyway, right! Let's go go go! [ It's so much better to focus on other things, like going inside the mysterious source of the buzzing, because that sounds safe and good. ] This way!

Okay, I'm coming! [just tagging along again, no big deal. this really does seem like a super safe and fun adventure here yep, no risks at all. as long as the buzzing doesn't end up being something terrible and deadly.]

[eras]

[ Of course actually approaching the tower means the tremors underfoot are going to be felt, and Aria's expression changes to one of caution.

She's...not imagining that, right? She glances sideways to see if she's imagining that. ]

Is that an - ? [ ...No, no one else is reacting, not an earthquake. ]

[and when she glances over she'll see soren looking over at her with a pretty surprised look as well] An earthquake?

[and yeah he's totally glancing around at everyone else around, wtf] How can no one else feel it, that doesn't even make sense.

[eras]

[ Aria nods. That was, in fact, what she was going to say. ]

...This isn't even a matter of not seeing something! [ How can people be walking around like there isn't a tremor in the ground?

It's not enough to knock her off her feet or anything, but...

Obviously the answer is to keep going, now with a rather stubborn expression. ]
