[General Log] Tuning Towers, Sept. 22 onward.

Who: Any and all!
Where: The site of Tuning Towers (and/or en route accordingly), at the heart of the business district in Locke City's downtown.
When: September 22nd and onward.
What: Following that mysterious buzzing sound to its strongest point! Perhaps you made plans with numbered associates for a trip downtown, or perhaps you went a-wandering alone to follow the noise yourself - surely you'll hardly be the only one.



[Tuning Towers, the third-largest building in the United States and Locke City's most prominent feature, from a tourist perspective in one sense and quite literally by another - look up and marvel, if you will, should you not be a bit too distracted by the circumstances.

Even if you needed to focus to tune into the buzzing in your brain at the start of whatever trip you took, you'll find that by the time you come close enough to the tower to feel a rising sensation of tremors beneath your feet - unnoticed, as far as one can tell, by the crowds, which almost never lack presence around the building - you'll be able to hear it very easily without even trying. It isn't terribly intrusive in the first couple of days after the return of the lights in the sky. As September moves on and into October, however, the intensity will grow all the more overbearing.

It is, indeed, even worse if you enter the building - only the ground floor is accessible to the unauthorized by the tower's maintenance and management or personnel of the companies making use of it. Apart from that, among the indoor crowds, you'll find nothing unusual on the ground floor - and if you'll find that the buzzing loses its strength the higher you go if you take a trip up to one of the observation floors.]

Wow, you're actually totally missing out. This is like our cultural heritage, you know! We're going by the gift store before we leave.

I don't really need postcards of a tower. Can't you just buy those at normal stores anyway?

[and looking around of course isn't showing anything obvious, so he just looks over at her again a little confused] You see anything?

Has anyone ever shown you how? It's easy to hurt yourself if not. ...Well, apparently.

Maybe? But you could be missing out on a mug, Soren. Or dorky tower sunglasses. Are you really prepared to take that chance?

[ Soren wins a shrug, and a frown. ]

...No. Nothing yet. Maybe we should go up?

[ Although the tremors feel down. Eventually they'll hit the point of pulsecholocation but. ]

...Well, no. But I still could.

I guess I could maybe use some dorky tower sunglasses. I could just wear those everywhere now to hide my eyes. [they would be stupid enough that it would be kind of funny, after all.]

I don't know, if there's like. You know, shaking, then up might not be the right way to go? But I don't know where else to go... [he's just kinda gonna look around and see if he can see anything again.]

Remind me to teach you how to throw a proper punch later! It is actually a pretty useful thing to know, I think.

[ Eyebrow raise. ] Are you going to show me why that is before we part ways tonight? Because now you're just being mysterious on purpose.

...That's definitely a good point, but I don't think there's a way to go down. At least, not without being on staff or like...going TMNT-style down.

[ WHICH SOUNDS A BIT TOO ADVENTUROUS EVEN FOR ARIA, HONESTLY. ]

Well. Okay. I think I'd rather just, stay out of any kind of situation where I should punch people, but I'm not gonna say no.

[laugh] No way, I'm going to keep it mysterious for at least another week! [or you know, until they leave, but same thing.]

Going up is probably better than leaving then, yeah... Okay sure, let's try it.

Clearly you did not think about what being my friend means enough!! Those sorts of situations are the most fun. [ ...That, at least, is not serious. Although it kind of should be since her reaction to something happening is to go and see what it is immediately. ]

Rude!! I'm going to keep my stuff mysterious, too, then. [ She totally has stuff to keep mysterious!

...gdi no she really doesn't, excepting crazy robot memories. Why does she tell everyone the answers to anything they ask. ]

Besides, then you'll get to say you've seen the towers. Up we go.

What, you regularly go places and punch people or something? That sounds kind of dangerous.

[it's probably really obvious how much he doesn't believe her about that mystery. except well his eyes are covered so maybe not so obvious but basically he is really not believing her alright] I don't think you can keep anything mysterious. I'll tell you later, anyway, if you want.

...Well, no, but I could if I needed to! [ she can live a dangerous lifestyle and no one can stop her except her curfew and her sister she guesses EXCEPT THOSE. ] And yes, I want.

[ Aria's clearly been to the towers before - she detours towards one of the staircases leading to the observation decks. Because elevators and Aria Megido rarely meet unless she has no other choice. Sorry, Soren. ]

I'll show you when we're done here then. It's kinda creepy though.

[he kind of rolls his eyes (not that you can see that...) but yeah okay fine he can stairs. it's just not what he wants to do, you know.]

You can't creep me out.

[ She sounds pretty convinced of this, and leads the way to the stairs. ...She's taking them two at a time, because go go go. ]

Are you sure? It's pretty weird.

[yeah see soren here isn't so excited about this whole taking the stairs to a higher level thing and is just going at, you know, a normal pace. so yeah he's going slower but is definitely following along.]

I'm absolutely positively sure! You can't creep me out. But you're welcome to try, I guess!

[ wow soren what do you have against stairs. Aria hits the landing first and will wait, though she crosses her arms. ]

I'm not sure I wanna take you up on that. Besides, it's less a really creepy and more of a wow that's not what eyes should look like kind of creepy.

[hey he just doesn't see what the excitement is about okay, they're just stairs! he's not super far behind though realistically, he's just going at normal speed instead of fast speed, so it doesn't take him too long to catch up again.]

So it's the first physical one you got.

[ And now it's time to go out onto the observation platform. This should look cool, right? ]

I think I can handle it.

Yeah, it is. And it's kinda weird and I'm trying to just pretend it didn't happen really. It's only kind of working. [and following on out there and okay yeah admittedly that is pretty cool. not that he says anything about it because that would be giving in. he's definitely liking the view though.]

I'm kinda doing the same thing about certain things! Although I guess eventually there will come a point when that's not really viable it's just...

[ Shrugs. And she points out at the view. ] You know, even if this is a bust in terms of sense, we picked a good time for it. During the day, the lights aren't nearly as pretty. Or, you know, noticeable.

...It is pretty nice. I guess. [yeah he can't really deny that okay, so he gives in.]

And I didn't even bring a camera! I should have brought a camera. I didn't know we were going to a tourist trap, though.

I'd say you could try a phone but it probably wouldn't turn out too well. I guess you'll have to just buy a postcard.

And take a camera on every outing ever from now on!! ...Anyway, the buzzing is definitely less up here.

Soren. Did you get a weird feeling when we came in? The sound...it's kind of like it was down below. In the mines. And when we heard it there...

Yes! After we heard it, Marisa and I - she had some weird broom, and that was back when I got the, you know.

[ She wiggles her fingers, which clearly means...

...well okay that's not very clear, but she means psychic powers. ]

I wish there were a way to check!
