Who: Anthony Janvier - and potentially anyone who might have business at the Where and When.
Where: Near Blood Keys territory.
When: A latter half of Dec. 14th or 15th, in the aftermath of a to-be-logged gang encounter.
What: Someone drops dead and wakes back up - in an inconvenient position!
Warning: Melodramatic. Also zombies and what they imply; potential loose, ambiguous mental illness.

The undead are clearly much more afraid of you than you are of them. )

In light of recent events, I'd like to know if anyone has any ideas for what should be done next. With the information about Sherman and the police we have, I believe the next step would be to figure out where Sherman's orders are coming from. We know an "enemy" exists, but not what they look like, where they are, or anything else. I understand there are also security concerns, so private messages might be the best method for this.

As always, if you have anything you'd like to add to the informational FAQ, please let me know.

[The handwriting that appears is dark, as though someone's pressing very hard with their pen. It's hastily written, making it barely legible at points.]

robots and aliens????

ROBOTS and ALIENS

That's the last time I listen to anything that man says. "Write it down," he said. "It'll make you feel better," he said.

that WORTHLESS piece of

[There's just. A bunch of scribbles here. They probably tried to be words, but they're just ... not.

[A minute or so passes before more words appear. The handwriting isn't so dark anymore, and it's definitely neater. Looks as though someone calmed down.]

All I want to know is this: why did the buzzing suddenly stop?

[Why not ask? It's not like the rest of these people are sane.]

[[Anyone around the vicinity of the Police HQ at 1:13pm on Friday the 13th who looked up would have seen quite a sight: A 30 foot half man half snake appearing over the building for 13 seconds before vanishing from sight.

A few hours later at 7:06pm, the same creature appeared, hovering over the Thunder Corp headquarters, glaring down impassively for 6 seconds before again vanishing.

A few fuzzy cell phone pictures have been swapped around, mostly focused on the aggressive snake lower half that seems to be hissing at the building it's hovering over]]

[Alex was arrested on Thursday. Ravi was working that night, so he didn't notice anything amiss until he woke up Friday afternoon and realized that Alex never came home.]

[Cue freaking out.] )

Has anybody seen Alex? This is his roommate, he hasn't been home since Thursday, I think.

He doesn't have his phone, he is not responding on the network, and work says he never showed up tonight.

I briefly spoke with someone else about this and we hit a brick wall. So i'm going to throw the question out to everyone else.

Why are we doing this?
Or better yet. How many of you are genuinely interested in whatever the police are after? And no, getting to it first doesn't count as a reason.

We're starting a war with a paranoid police force over a supposed alien invasion and a bit of gossip. If this threat is supposedly that terrible, why hasn't someone recorded evidence and sent it off to various world leaders yet?

We're a disorganised network. Over half of the users are teenagers. Most of us have likely never met face-to-face. Why are we suddenly more fitting for this 'job' than the trained professionals?

There are some essays and blog posts being shared on the web, through various mediums like Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook; all the usual sort, really. On the surface they're only so different from the other essays and blogposts about some vague threat on the horizon, but what's interesting about these is that they're getting out there. And for the Numbers club in particular, those who read them may find things being quite familiar.

THE CHILDREN'S WAR )

A IS FOR ASSAULT )

THUNDERCLOUDS )

All of them have the same author; "Gabriel Alder". Research into him (or her?) may find that (other than the various results on Google) a few antiwar essays were written in the 60s & 70s under that name (with a similar writing style, no less), and further research may show that it's also the name of an American soldier who died during WWII- but other than that it seems to have no particular connection to one thing or another.

((OOC; Feel free to comment as if you were commenting online on the webpages or w/e! If you missed the original OOC post, it's here, and I'm totally cool with backdating/handwaving others helping to set this up~))
