Okay so this might be a stupid idea, but...

It's better to be prepared than not be prepared, and it's been a while since the aliens or police or whoever really DID anything that I've seen. It's probably only a matter of time before their master plan comes into action and flying saucers start descending from the clouds or whatever.

Probably not that specifically, but you get my point.

Seeing as how I've been so far getting kind of creepy powers that bad guys in fantasy movies have, I've collected a series of truly terrifying supernatural horror films that I am going to watch in an attempt to induce more echoes in myself. I'd feel a bit more comfortable doing this if I had some one around to, you know, kick my ass if this ends up in me turning full evil. Fair warning, I'm pretty sure I could already punch a hole in a brick wall right now.

Even if this doesn't work, you'd still get to watch a bunch of great movies.

EDIT: It didn't work.

So I may have had a run-in with a Blood Key. Nothing really happened. I managed to walk past him...

And now I can't stop breaking things. ....I got an echo and it's a pain in the ass. Enhanced strength isn't as neat as it sounds.

How on Earth does anyone get used to these new abilities? ...I think this is going to take me a while.

i read a lot of what you guys said but this is still crazy and i don't even know if i believe it yet. but my phone broke and then i couldn't get this stupid number out of my head and you all know you sound crazy, right? and you're embarrassing yourselves too this is all so embarrassing.

so how do i quit??? without my phone breaking again.

[The feed opens on two smiling idiots. Like, really really smiling. Their grins are positively infectious. They also appear to be hiding something behind their backs.]

[They quickly pull out, wouldn't you know it, party horn. Not willing to let just majestic instruments exist without being blown into, they do the obvious and blow into the noisemaker. Repeatedly. With plenty of gusto and excitement!]

So, you guys are welcome to stop by again at any time without fear of insults and derision!

[Then suddenly, things get really serious as they casually toss away the party blowers.]

But! We have something important to tell you.

Now that we have time to talk about it.

See, long story short, we ran into some blood keys.

We're alright but we got an echo!

An important echo!

The past us... knew they were being reincarnated!

This whole thing... might have happened before!

I briefly spoke with someone else about this and we hit a brick wall. So i'm going to throw the question out to everyone else.

Why are we doing this?
Or better yet. How many of you are genuinely interested in whatever the police are after? And no, getting to it first doesn't count as a reason.

We're starting a war with a paranoid police force over a supposed alien invasion and a bit of gossip. If this threat is supposedly that terrible, why hasn't someone recorded evidence and sent it off to various world leaders yet?

We're a disorganised network. Over half of the users are teenagers. Most of us have likely never met face-to-face. Why are we suddenly more fitting for this 'job' than the trained professionals?

I got a laser gun.

[Roxy is excitedly holding this and gesturing wildly into her smartphone camera. Slight groaning can be heard in the background.

So I was tryin' to take a shortcut home through the Dead District, right, and this fuckin' Blood Keys guy jumps me out of nowhere, and he doesn't see my face because I had my hood up, so I disappeared and got behind him and managed to choke him out, and I guess fightin' one of these guys gets you a pulse? Because right after he drops I just found this thing, and I tested it out by shooting his gun with it and it turns out that it's a fuckin' laser gun! Also, it comes with, like, a hyperspace inventory, so I can just make it disappear and reappear whenever I want it.

[She grins excitedly and demonstrates for the network. Then she stows it away in whatever void she pulled it from and pulls a pair of sunglasses out of her pocket.]

But that's not even the best part - check it out, these guys have these sunglasses, right? It's 'cuz they have, like, cybenetic eyeballs, but anyway, I go to take them off, and this happens.

[Roxy's fingers twitch slightly, and the sunglasses blur into a gray square and then into a bottle shape before disappearing.]

Right, so that's how I put stuff away, and to get it out I just - [Her fingers twitch again, and the bottle appears in her hands. She smashes it against the ground, and out pop the sunglasses, good as new. The shards of the bottle flicker momentarily and disappear.]

This is so fucking cool.

[Another groan comes from the back. Roxy glances nervously away from the camera.]

Um, yeah, the thing is that I've got no fuckin' clue what to do about this guy. Do I just leave him there, or what?

[A transmission appears on the network today, the entry typed up using a laptop as she'd rather keep her identity to herself for now. She can't say she's not confused by this development, and she'd just prefer to be careful right now. Something tells her it's for the best.]

I'm not even sure what the hell this is all about. This is the last thing I expected to come across, and it doesn't look like a joke. If it is, I'm damn impressed! Though I've got this sneaking suspicion that it's for real.

If there's anyone out there willing to give me more information on what this network is and what the hell is going on, I'd appreciate it. I have to admit, I'm more than a little confused right now.
