PLOT: Refined Shell battle!

What: Crustacean commotion. CRAB BATTLE.
When: 26th September, daytime
Where: Las Vegas, flooded area and surroundings

[ At eleven AM, a pulsing shockwave resonates throughout Las Vegas. Seemingly coming from somewhere deep underground, the ripple of force doesn't last long - but that doesn't mean that it isn't strong enough to make any nearby reincarnates stumble or fall.

The quake that happens soon afterwards is much stronger. Unlike the last, it seems to rumble on and on... until it reaches its crescendo with the emergence of a monstrous pink crabster from beneath the recently-flooded area of the city. A miniature tsunami accompanies the 300-foot behemoth, further damaging the surroundings not already levelled by the flooding and the quakes.

It doesn't take long for Refined Shell to get its bearings and begin its rampage. Everything within range can expect to be swiped at, stamped on or crushed between its pincers in its mindless rage.

You might say it seems to be feeling a touch... crabby. ]

[A quick smile at that.]

Echo or not, I like it. [Said as she pulls aside some rubble freeing someone, keeping one eye on the crab monster as always... Rescuing is need, but that monster needs taken down.]

Hmmm. Yeah, I guess it's pretty-- [Arthur's head whipped around. A section of one building was torn off, falling towards a group of people running from the crab.

He turned on his heel and vanished, the street tearing up from the force of his charge. In the next instant, the rubble was obliterated, only small bits of cement and dust falling down on the crowd in the end. Arthur landed, lightning rippling around him.]

[And just like that, he was off in an instant, saving people with one almost effortless looking burst of magic...

...And then he was back.]

...Wow.

[knights_king]

Huh? [Arthur didn't think twice about it. He did it and it was done. He had gotten so used to just cramming that level of power into each movement he made that it became unnoticeable at times.

If anything, the fact that he was doing it made his dragon's blood relax. Expending energy helped immensely.]

That was really fast! And for that matter, impressive...

[By now, she had taken to the air again, hovering a few feet above the ground and preparing to attack the crabster.]

Now, let's see how much damage you can do to that thing!

Hmmm. [A pain in the ass. That's what it was. Arthur knew that without Excalibur, anything he picked up would only be useful as a weapon once. He breathed in and out, the simple act of doing so creating a massive surge of energy in his body.]

Sure. If you wanna see. [He reached aside, lifting a section of a car door that he had ripped off earlier. Arthur charged the crab full force, looking to smash the beast with it. With the magic flowing through the car door--]

Huh--

[He was repelled instantly, just as quickly as he approached. Arthur bounced off of the shell, spinning through the air and smashing through the pavement, leaving a crater in the street that hurled up cement.]

[And she watched him charge forwards, expecting to be shown something impressive, but instead the magic he used rebounded and sent him careening through the air and ended up leaving a crater.]

...Well. That could have gone better.

[And then, her voice slightly concerned...] Are you okay there...?

[knights_king]

Fine.

[Everything except his, until recently, cracked ego. Arthur stepped up without a second thought, dusting himself off as if nothing happened. In truth, he looked absolutely fine. Being repelled could never damage him as--that energy was always wrapped around him in the first place.]

...I dunno what went wrong.

[Did it reflect magic, or was it something else? Either way, Emilia decided to test it for herself. And whatever that echo was, it's become clear to her what it's given her...

With a thought, she summons it, a spear of red energy she knew was called Gungnir, and hurls it at the monster. Unfortunatly, impressive as it was, all it did was bounce off.]

Gah, do I need to punch it or something!?

[knights_king]

...Can you? [Arthur was done gawking at the exploding red spear--simply remembering that she had been capable of easily carrying him for a few miles in the air.]

I mean, you can try to hit it when it isn't aware and book it if it gets bad?

With these wings? I think I'll be fine.

[She has her parasol in hand, as always, but now the vampire was taking to the air, her free hand clenching into a fist as she swiftly flies towards the monster.

And sure enough, she hits the thing as hard as she can... Fortunatly, there's no rebound for her! Instead, her punch starts to make the shell crack...]

Jeez. I gotta show you how to throw a punch.

[He joked a bit, not even really expecting Emilia to get it. She threw a good punch, but he had to try and be the one to tease at least once a century--]

Oh, you're just mad you couldn't make a dent.

[And here she sticks her tongue out at him. Well, she cracked the shell and got the monster's attention, which she realises at the last second... And just like that, she's dodged its attacks with a few powerful flaps of her wings.]

[knights_king]

'Course I am. Doesn't mean I can't still teach you a thing or two. Plus--I've taken so many blows to the head, I oughta know how somebody's supposed to throw a punch.

[That said, his grin was cut short as the crab came down and attacked again. He backed off a few paces, charging up his breath a second time.]

Well then, once this thing's down, you can show me.

[She was quick to rush in as the crab monster's leg came down, once again punching the monster's shell...

This time, she was more effective, her blow made more and more cracks appear in the shell.]

[knights_king]

[Lifting up a brick, Arthur bounced it on his open hand, wondering aloud--]

Do you know what magic's specifically supposed to be? I mean--does it involve physics?

[scarlet_devil]

Physics? Probably not!

[She had to raise her voice quite a bit as the beast screeched at her, it's claws trying to hit her once again. No worries, though, she's getting good at dodging. If it wasn't for the danger and the crab thing smashing everything, she'd be enjoying this.]

[knights_king]

OK! Well, we'll see. Keep your head low in case this doesn't work!

[Arthur turned on a dime and whipped the brick towards the crab's claw as it came down at Emilia once more--the claw pushed aside as the brick stuck the side of it with explosive force. A single crack ran down from where Arthur hit it.]

[scarlet_devil]

Well now... Looks like we can both hurt it.

[She grinned almost savagely before taking to the air again, this time deciding to attack the crab monster from above.]

I'll get at it from above!

[knights_king]

[Huffing, Arthur reached down to pick up another brick as Emilia rose up to intercept the monster.]

For now--I just gotta make sure I don't charge up too much. Where're you gonna hit it from?

[scarlet_devil]

I'll get at it from behind.

[She rises further into the air with a powerful flap of her wings, flying even further into her air...]
