PLOT: Refined Shell battle!

What: Crustacean commotion. CRAB BATTLE.

Where: Las Vegas, flooded area and surroundings

[ At eleven AM, a pulsing shockwave resonates throughout Las Vegas. Seemingly coming from somewhere deep underground, the ripple of force doesn't last long - but that doesn't mean that it isn't strong enough to make any nearby reincarnates stumble or fall.

The quake that happens soon afterwards is much stronger. Unlike the last, it seems to rumble on and on... until it reaches its crescendo with the emergence of a monstrous pink crabster from beneath the recently-flooded area of the city. A miniature tsunami accompanies the 300-foot behemoth, further damaging the surroundings not already levelled by the flooding and the quakes.

It doesn't take long for Refined Shell to get its bearings and begin its rampage. Everything within range can expect to be swiped at, stamped on or crushed between its pincers in its mindless rage.

You might say it seems to be feeling a touch... crabby. ]

"They always are", he grunts. He should know--he's usually the rude, loud one. "They should throw a parade in our honor but we don't even get a thank y--THAT'S NOT WHAT YOUR MOM SAID LAST NIGHT, DIPSHIT!"

The last part is aimed at yet another heckler.

"I don't think this is the sort of thing you do if you're looking for thanks...you just do it because it's the right thing to do." And in addition to Hamel's retort at the heckler, Hajime adds something in his nasty, inhuman-sounding monster language and shakes a fist. It's intimidating enough that any future hecklers might want to think twice...even if all he's done is rattle off a grocery list. It's a very nasty-sounding grocery list.

"Of course I wanted to do the right thing, but it's nice to feel appreciated." Emil wanted to help and he's glad to have succeeded, but he can't pretend to be a perfect saint. It's hard to take the moral high ground when people look at you like you're a freak. "Say, what's--" and he repeats one of the nastier sounding words, "mean?"

"Yeah, I know what you mean." And he's surprised to hear Emil echo that word. "Eggs, actually...everything I say in that language sounds bad, so I just yelled a grocery list at them." He shrugs. "If I really wanted to be threatening, I'd say--" here, there's a more vicious-sounding string of the monster tongue. "Doesn't translate well, but it's pretty much describing a very particular way of ripping an opponent's arm out the socket and beating them to death with it." He shrugs. "Can't insult any relatives. Don't really have words for them."

Emil looks a little disappointed; he thought it's something more interesting than a shopping list. The one about the arm is better, but he gets why Hajime wouldn't want to yell that at the idiot.

"I regret asking. Now if I see videos of you fighting the crab, I'm gonna wonder if you're threatening it or just telling it to buy milk on the way home."

"Now, if it was the crab, then it was probably more along the lines of the arm-ripping-off one," Hajime admits. "It's different when I'm yelling at something I really do want to hurt." Different in that he had been kind of just letting his monster instincts go running at that point...

Was that embarrassment? Emil can't decide. It's hard when you don't have an expression to go with a voice…

"Well--that's good I guess? If you're gonna have a battle cry, might as well do it right."

Hajime shrugs. "It's better than just snarling at everything, I suppose." And it showed that at least some of the lights were still on upstairs when he fought, that he wasn't beyond some sort of language. That was a plus.
