PLOT: Refined Shell battle!

[ At eleven AM, a pulsing shockwave resonates throughout Las Vegas. Seemingly coming from somewhere deep underground, the ripple of force doesn't last long - but that doesn't mean that it isn't strong enough to make any nearby reincarnates stumble or fall.

The quake that happens soon afterwards is much stronger. Unlike the last, it seems to rumble on and on... until it reaches its crescendo with the emergence of a monstrous pink crabster from beneath the recently-flooded area of the city. A miniature tsunami accompanies the 300-foot behemoth, further damaging the surroundings not already levelled by the flooding and the quakes.

It doesn't take long for Refined Shell to get its bearings and begin its rampage. Everything within range can expect to be swiped at, stamped on or crushed between its pincers in its mindless rage.

You might say it seems to be feeling a touch... crabby. ]

[After being informed of the situation by Eugen, Xander used the teleporter to arrive in Las Vegas. This time, he was prepared and brought a mask with him to obscure any traces of being recognized.

When he arrived on the scene, he was hit with a pulse and overwhelmed with sudden information about the species of those around him. His blue eyes were completely black, but he was unaware of that change. He was trying to focus and evaluate the situation, but his new ability was distracting as much as it was being helpful.

With a plan figured out, he moved to assist those who were trapped in buildings with his shadow mimicry. He could be spotted in either his shadow form or partially physical form.]

[One section of a rinky-dink hotel that had caught aflame nearly burst as a gas tank began to take flames on. Coming out of nowhere, Arthur landed on the ground with a solid thud, wearing his full set of armor. He didn't recognize Xander at first as he was in his shadow form, but then--he didn't feel any instinctive need to attack the weird creature who seemed to be pulling folks out of the building.

He released the seal on Excalibur, hurling the strength of the wind from the Barrier of the Wind King straight at the flames, putting them out in an instant.]

[He was focused with getting people out of the building, but the sudden and strong wind causes him to reach over to support the person he was letting out the shadows. When the wind dies down, he releases his hold and turns his attention to Arthur.]

Thanks for the help. Can you escort this person to the paramedics?

Easily. Though, the paramedics can't make it that far down here. You gotta give me a few more so I don't eat up time and miss anyone.

[Arthur held his arm out, his sword and its invisible barrier both vanishing as if neither were there in the first place.]

All right. [He reassures the person that Arthur won't harm them before guiding them over.] ...I'll be right back with more.

[He disappears back in to the building through the shadows and over the course of several minutes, returns with more people. Some of them have minor injuries and those with make-shift slings were tended to.]

You might want to be careful with them. I'll stay here with anyone you can't take. [Even though he knows there are more people trapped inside.]

No worries. The way I move, they won't get hurt if I jerk around a lot.

[With his 'burst', Arthur essentially coated the area around himself with magic. It essentially removed the damage the body would suffer if thrown through several 'g's of force all in one instant.

He reached over, lifting the next person up onto his shoulder before he turned on his heel and tore down the street like a comment. Arthur returned a half minute later, empty-handed but that time with a strap and harness.]

[A bit too casually, really.]

[Sorry Arthur, Xander was giving you a look of disbelief for that comment about moving around a lot. There was a likely chance the other man didn't see it due to taking off or his mask obscuring his expression. All he could do was hope that the civilians arrived at the paramedics unharmed.]

Trust me, they're alright. [He knew that look. The paramedics gave him that look the first time he started helping folks, after all.]

It makes a field around me. Folks don't feel anything in it.

[That was all he could really say on the matter. He glances over at the civilian before turning his attention back to Arthur.]

...Can you stay with them? I'm going back in to get more.

Yeah, I can. [He managed to bash the crab back with the invisible barrier once before, so that wasn't a tall order.

He wasn't sure where Xander was planning on running--in the same building or somewhere new.] Need any cover when you head out?

[It was a quick reply as he starts to disappear back in to the shadows. But, he does pause when Arthur asks if he needs cover.]

No, I should be fine. Just make sure the civilians stay out of harm and if you could, try to keep it away from any of the damaged buildings.

...Stay safe, pal. I dunno about that wispy form you're using, but you ought to watch your back.
