plot: car monster in locke

Who: Characters in Locke, most pertinently the characters chosen for the takedown, and Geoff Benwick
When: May 31st, Saturday, around 4PM
Where: The streets of Locke City's urban areas
What: A car monster is on the loose in Locke, rampaging the streets, destroying property - and showing no further consideration for the citizens of the city.
Warnings: Violence, death.

[ OOC: For an overview, please see this plot post. Evan's player is organizing a failed takedown attempt here for anyone interested! Remember that there are two human casualties as a result of the car's rampage, including Network teenager Kaworu Nagisa.

The car monster is rampaging without concern for damage, either to itself or to anything around it, but it is avoiding damage that will take it out of action. Ramming property, causing car accidents, and leaving the road entirely to continue its race along the streets are all kosher. Geoff Benwick is in aerial pursuit, attempting to coordinate with reincarnates and law enforcement alike. ]

Ariel? There's aliens in the city and a giant snake destroyed most of downtown. Sentient cars are totally normal, comparatively.

[He pulls back a little to look her over, checking for injuries]

How'd you do that dodge?

[sylvanguard]

Ah right. I wasn't here for the giant snake and things were so quiet lately...

[Yep. She had forgotten most of it. With all her commuting and odd hours, she had not really been paying attention to the news much, let alone the aliens.] I'm alright, really. [She totally was. Not a scratch on her or a hair of her ponytail out of place. Though her heart was still going a million miles a minute.]

I don't know. I just... had to get out of the way as quickly as possible. Hiding behind another car just seemed to be the logical choice, so I made it happen.

[youngestone]

Huh. Well, you're not a smear on the pavement so hey, I won't complain.

[He finally lets go, though he starts to drag her back into the café]

C'mon, back inside where it's safe and I can buy you lunch or something.

[sylvanguard]

[she resists, looking at where the car had gone.] Shouldn't we try to stop it? I mean what if someone get seriously hurt or killed?

[She feels obligated as a numbered to help fight that thing or at least help anyone caught in it's path.]

[youngestone]

It's a car. We're both unarmed since, y'know, I don't bring my sword with me on errands. Should probably start though, Christ. Anyway, do we even know where it went? I was a little more focused on getting to you than watching where the car went.

[sylvanguard]

[Leave it to him to be the sensible one.]

My bow is in the trunk of my car... [Not that it's anywhere near them at the moment anyway.]

I'm pretty sure we only need to look for signs of people screaming and devastation to find where it has gone.

[However, she makes no signs of moving in the direction she thinks the car has gone. Instead she seems pretty easy to move towards the cafe again, realizing just then just how shaky she is feeling now that the adrenaline is wearing off.]

After you eat something. Where is your car, anyway?

[sylvanguard]

I'm okay. Really. I just ate. I just need to sit a moment. [Sit and not think about how close she came to being run over. She looks over at him, and takes his hand, drawing some support from his nearness.]

I'm glad the car didn't get you either.

[And then so things didn't get awkward, she looks away out towards the street quickly, still keeping hold of his hand. Hers is still shaking a little, so she squeezes his to try and make it stop.]

It's a parking garage a few blocks away.

[youngestone]

Well, in that case I'm going to eat. I'm starving.

[He squeezes her hand, smiling slightly]

And then we can get your car and see if we can track the carnage. Deal?

[sylvanguard]

[That gets a small laugh out of her, which helps immensely in making her feel better.] Dude you're always hungry. But deal. Get something with fries. I'll steal some off you.

[This sounded like the best plan. Eating and then going after the car. She'd be calmer then. Able to help if needs be.]

I'm a growing boy, thank you.

[Only he's not and he knows it but, well, joking helps.]
