Who: Thunder Corp and anyone who wants to be involved in the machine theft!
Where: A little-used road in the middle of nowhere, heading towards the echo boundary
When: Nighttime, August 6th
What: Hijacking (and later, testing) Project Jump!
Warnings: Violence, most likely.



[ Ellie has done as promised and kept in contact with the hijacking team since making her announcement. They have been supplied with the following information:

There is one truck containing eight guards, with Ellie being the short one. All of them carry guns and have some training in their use. They're not expecting trouble, but if something does occur their orders are to escape with Project Jump instead of fighting, if possible.

Which means the truck itself needs to be stopped. Ellie has informed the team that she won't be driving, so she can't help them with that. She'll also need to put up some token resistance in the event of a fight, but she promises not to hurt anyone.

(The latter statement was texted along with a little winky emote. Ellie is not good at being reassuring.)

Finally, the team have been given a spot along the road to await the truck's arrival. It's an excellent place for an ambush: trees line both sides of the road, offering plenty of hiding places. ]

[L doesn't have to pretend that Amy is an ordinary employee, because to him, she is, or at least as ordinary as numbered workers can really be.]

We know some of them. I'm not sure if they're widely known, but they do exist and I'm sure they'd be forthcoming with proper encouragement.

[His focus shifts to Saretha, and he quirks one of his hairless brows at the question.]

Sparsely dressed? This is Jersey in August, so you'll have to be a bit more specific.

[Amy swallowed hard, brushing back some of her hair - more out of nervousness than any real reason to]

A-Ah, she's talking about a young woman named Raye Satterfield, sir. She has red and black hair... and she's somewhat loud and volatile.

"Proper encouragement," yes. [ She muses for a moment. ] "If they come after us they're probably coming for you too," sort of cuts to the point, I think.

[ There's a brief, knowing smirk to L's second comment, but luckily Amy picks it up. ]

Yes, her... ah, armor as it is does not leave much to the imagination. [ As if Saretha is one to talk. ] Just a mild curiosity on my part, but I've seen her interact with that lot and I'm wondering. Our other lives have... ties.

I arrived as quickly as I could when I heard that this was happening, and I did see someone matching that description during the drop-off. Is it just a mild curiosity? If your other lives have ties, then what affects her could very well affect you too, even if not immediately.

[He pauses, seeming to weight whether or not to say what follows.]

...that being said, in your place, I'd definitely want to know all I could about anyone sharing my other life, and I'd resent being asked for additional reasons.
