[So howdy, network, just another day, right? Well. Except for what looks like a new person accessing the super secret numbers network.

For a moment or two, there seems to be pretty much nothing but silence. Then, a piano tune creeps up. Slow, steady, almost as if he's rehearsed this. Weird. At least it sounds pretty, right?

It goes on for a minute or two, before wrapping up. After that there's nothing again, until text starts appearing, rapid-fire as if from an IM or IRC client.
]

okay so
what the fuck is this, seriously
i mean the number is obviously some sort of weird coded gibberish (who the fuck heard of an address starting with '413' i mean really)
is that dumb piano piece i remembered from who knows where some sort of signal or key or something who the fuck knows
assuming i didn't just craft it up in some weird half-baked dream anyway
what the hell am i even typing there's probably nothing even here
just, you know, me
typing into the infinite idiot void
wondering if i get something better than the dumb bullshit i usually put up with
yaaaaay
ace choices in how to waste your time today self
real pro of you
ugh, whatever.

[Maya looks... strained.]

If any of you work in a morgue, or in law enforcement, if you'd be so kind as to send me a private message, I'd appreciate a great deal.

... the rest of you, if you have loved ones who are not part of this, I... give them a big hug. Or call them. Write them. They... they're targeting our families, now.

[ she pauses, looking out of a window. In the background, one of her cats jumps on a windowsill.]

Right um, first things first. I think a few of you actually responded to the ad I put out for a photoshoot. If I could have your phone numbers, please, that'd be helpful. Also, if you could all write me up invoices for payment... I can provide templates if you need.

And...

...

Finally, as you can see, I have a very spacious house, lots of rooms. If... if any of you need a place to stay, for whatever reason, my home is open to you. I've cleaned up the spare rooms and even cleared out a few that I was just using for storage... you'll need to take care of chores and help out around the house, that'd be lovely. I think all told if we count what used to be the first floor storage room I've got seven rooms free, and if you all don't mind being room-mates I have room for more. Bathroom space will probably be at a premium though, as there's only three of those...

It's a large, empty house, is what I'm saying. My ex husband wanted a big family. I... did not.

[A grim smile]

But I won that divorce settlement.

... that's all.

[This post comes late in the evening, since after taking a swig of water from her tap-filled water bottle she burst into hysterical laughter and found herself unable to stop. And then... well, she felt the same pulse through her heart that she felt as a child, a story flooding her mind. She tries in vain to sort it out on her own once her laughter dies down, but when she can't she'll turn to the network. And, because this is a story, she'll do it through audio.

There's several seconds of silence before Kairi starts speaking, starting quiet and growing more certain in her words as she goes on.]

"A long time ago, there was peace, and the worlds were filled with light. Everyone loved the light. But eventually people wanted the light for themselves and began to fight for it. Darkness filled their hearts and it spread, swallowing the light and people's hearts with it. It covered everything, and the worlds began to disappear.

Some of the light survived in the hearts of children. Those children used their light to rebuild the worlds. But since the true light was trapped in the darkness, the worlds were kept apart. But one day, the door will open, and the true light will return."

[there's a brief pause.]

I just remembered this story that my grandmother told me when I was little. But... I don't think she ever actually told me this story. Kind of weird, huh? [she laughs, though it's a little weak.] I don't really know why I posted it here. It just... it feels important.

[Private to Maya]

...Does it mean anything to you? I'm kind of wondering if my subconscious pulled it from your books or something! I'd feel kind of silly if I did, but at least it would make sense.
