[Maya looks... strained.]
If any of you work in a morgue, or in law enforcement, if you'd be so kind as to send me a private message, I'd appreciate a great deal.
... the rest of you, if you have loved ones who are not part of this, I... give them a big hug. Or call them. Write them. They... they're targeting our families, now.
[ she pauses, looking out of a window. In the background, one of her cats jumps on a windowsill.]
Right um, first things first. I think a few of you actually responded to the ad I put out for a photoshoot. If I could have your phone numbers, please, that'd be helpful. Also, if you could all write me up invoices for payment... I can provide templates if you need.
And...
...
Finally, as you can see, I have a very spacious house, lots of rooms. If... if any of you need a place to stay, for whatever reason, my home is open to you. I've cleaned up the spare rooms and even cleared out a few that I was just using for storage... you'll need to take care of chores and help out around the house, that'd be lovely. I think all told if we count what used to be the first floor storage room I've got seven rooms free, and if you all don't mind being room-mates I have room for more. Bathroom space will probably be at a premium though, as there's only three of those...
It's a large, empty house, is what I'm saying. My ex husband wanted a big family. I... did not.
[A grim smile]
But I won that divorce settlement.
... that's all.

What happened
[Text]
My niece. Fred van den Berg's mother. They turned her into a monster, set on killing Fred. We escaped her, but whatever they did to her killed her, too.

[nope. especially not after the Echo she got with it.]
Honestly, I'm more worried about my grand-nephew. She was his mother.

About the shoot: we should probably let everyone know where to meet up.

Yes, we probably should.

I'm so sorry. [A tight swallow.] What do you need?

I tried to burn the body. I didn't know what else to do. I've come up with an explanation -- there was a thunderstorm the other day, with lots of lightning; she was driving on the way home, pulled over because she'd left the gas cap on her car open, and the car was struck by lightning, which caused a spark and then an explosion.
Mostly what I need is that if my family -- especially my brother, her father -- asks questions, that I can have someone in authority corroborate on my story, even if it sounds absurd. I... I hate doing this. I hate it, I hate it. But at the same time, for everyone's sake I can't let anyone find out the truth. And in honesty I think they'd rather she died in a freak accident than... than... poisoned and turned into a weapon against her own son.
[she's shaking, but to her credit she isn't crying.]

I'm incredibly sorry for your loss. My name is Brooke; I work in a funeral home. Is there anything I can do to help you?

I wish there was some way that things would have turned out differently.
[also there is his phone number.] For the photoshoot, and I can help with obtaining fancier props like the weapons.
voice {iphone}
That's fantastic. I can send you an email with details, though I assume you've already got the gist.
Also, I think the person I had lined up for Kun bailed. You or Riku might have to fill in.

[Because she's his elder, he'll keep to the formalities. After the other night, he's been wondering how she's doing]

[It's not the first time she's lost a friend, or even family, but it's the first time it's been... well, by violence. Murder, essentially.]
Thank you for your concern.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I realize you know this already, but the idea that things like that happen now is terrible.
While I don't need a place to stay, that house does seem large. If you need any help with anything around your home, I would be happy to help. I'm often alone in my home too, and at a time like this, I feel like you need people around.
I wish there were more I could do for you, but please let me know if you have use for any cooking or cleaning.

I'm sorry.
I could visit at times, if you'll let me.
[He's using proper punctuation and everything, because this is serious, solemn, and honestly it doesn't take a genius to know what happened here. He wants to give this woman as much respect as he can through simple text.]

I'm afraid all I can offer is to perform last rites, if your family is Anglican. I'm familiar with Catholic tradition, too. If not, then I wish you peace.

I'm so sorry. The things we're fighting are...I don't know. Cruel.

As it is even it seems tragic. And he feels a plummeting and a chill as if just behind his back - is it for the better that he isn't with his own family... or might they be tracked and approached without him to be there to do something?
He's looked through the other responses, and that intensifies all of it.]
I am also deeply sorry to hear of your loss, ma'am...
I can't imagine what a nightmare it must be. [He nearly wrote "must have been" - being attacked by a mutated and insane person who one used to know, as family no less. That part is over but obviously nothing is fixed or in total any better at all.]

I -- [Ah, he's never been any good at this sort of thing.] … you have my deepest condolences.
I suppose I was one of the ones who answered the ad. Here's my phone number. [And there it is. He would ask for more details but it doesn't seem appropriate at this time.]
[voice]
Thank you. I'll note that down. We're meeting at [blah blah]
And... thank you. For your condolences.

All I can say is, I'm really sorry.
[There's a long pause as she tries to figure out what else to mention.]
You'll be okay, though, right?

[well, not really, but you do what you can.]

I'm sorry for what's happened. I believe there is a mortician on the network. I think I have her number.
