[This post comes late in the evening, since after taking a swig of water from her tap-filled water bottle she burst into hysterical laughter and found herself unable to stop. And then... well, she felt the same pulse through her heart that she felt as a child, a story flooding her mind. She tries in vain to sort it out on her own once her laughter dies down, but when she can't she'll turn to the network. And, because this is a story, she'll do it through audio.
There's several seconds of silence before Kairi starts speaking, starting quiet and growing more certain in her words as she goes on.]
"A long time ago, there was peace, and the worlds were filled with light. Everyone loved the light. But eventually people wanted the light for themselves and began to fight for it. Darkness filled their hearts and it spread, swallowing the light and people's hearts with it. It covered everything, and the worlds began to disappear.
Some of the light survived in the hearts of children. Those children used their light to rebuild the worlds. But since the true light was trapped in the darkness, the worlds were kept apart. But one day, the door will open, and the true light will return."
[there's a brief pause.]
I just remembered this story that my grandmother told me when I was little. But... I don't think she ever actually told me this story. Kind of weird, huh? [she laughs, though it's a little weak.] I don't really know why I posted it here. It just... it feels important.
[Private to Maya]
...Does it mean anything to you? I'm kind of wondering if my subconscious pulled it from your books or something! I'd feel kind of silly if I did, but at least it would make sense.

Well it probably is if it's a popular enough story! Do you know what it's called?

I don't, sorry.

It didn't, but when you said it, I had the strangest memory, of watching a grandmother telling her little girl that story, outside a beautiful castle like something out of a story.
And it feels true, like someone else important to me told me the same story, like my father, or my grandfather, but it wasn't them at all.
But it's not in my books, I didn't remember it until just now.

Some of the memories I've gotten do line up with the books, others... are nothing like them at all.

"...the worlds were kept apart. But one day the door will open, and the true light will return," huh?
Worlds, a door, true light and darkness. If that was true, does that mean all we need is the right door? [A short laugh at that.] It's a pretty good story, anyway.

[Déjà-vu. Tyler's pretty sure he's never heard of this tale before, but it hits home in ways he can't even begin to describe. It's a droning in the back of his skull and he can't shake it off, chin dipped and palm briefly hovering over his heart. When he looks up, there's a light frown creasing his face, puzzled and curious.]
That's weird. You sure you just didn't read that somewhere? 'Cause it sounds kind of... familiar.
[ video ]
I actually asked someone about that. I'm pretty sure it's not.

[Yeah, tell him about that. No gaping like a stranded fish in the meantime though, kay?]
Then maybe it's some kind of metaphor. Y'know. Good and evil. That sort of thing. [Which, all in all, is pretty much universal. There's a beat and a light roll of shoulders, fingertips idly rubbing the side of his head.] I just don't think that anyone can be either or. There's gotta be darkness in all of us.

Remembering a story you were never told? You sure that's possible?

Children and light, huh? Sounds pretty poetic. And... almost nostalgic.

[There's a very audible sigh there. How come this girl brings back some many weird feelings.]
Honestly, it... feels different for me.
