PLOT: WISE SNAKE'S EMERGENCE

Who: OPEN.
When: March 9th, Sunday, daylight hours.
Where: The business district of Locke City.
What: An enormous snake monster is pissed.
Warnings: Violence.

[The alien explodes silently - but it explodes.

First in a small cloud of hot (rose-scented) gas - those there to watch its final moments will want to step back.

A ripple in the air pulses - heavily - from where it once was, with absolutely no sound and color, but penetrating force. Anyone standing within two miles of the point of origin will feel a push, with those closest guaranteed to be knocked off their feet and temporarily dazed. Cars swerve and crash. Staff in the nearest office buildings launch into disarray. There’s no shielding from the blast - it can be felt through walls, through structures, in the air, and underground.

And it is felt underground.

The entire business district starts to shake, abruptly, jarred to a stir by some movement. It rises over the span of a long half-a-minute to the magnitude of December’s earthquake.

Tuning Towers experiences the worst of it - windows are smashing and objects are shaking loose and falling from the upper floors.

It finally ends - with screaming - as the head of an enormous pink snake breaks the lobby floor.

It flows its way quickly out of the hole it’s made, breaks itself another hole ever so politely through the main entrance doors, which were not meant to accommodate a twenty-foot-tall-and-wide exitor, and as it draws the last of its tail out after it, the quaking dies down.

It’s now roaring its way through the streets of Locke City’s business district - all several hundred meters of Wise Snake, emerged in the flesh (or stone?).

No regard for the walls of buildings, streetlamps, civilians, stopped and blindly pulled-over vehicles, anything else on its course - in a frantically-awakened, unrestricted rampage.]

[ OOC: This is part two of the Season 1's finale. The first - the assault on the farmhouse - is here; pertinent plot posts one and two. ]

[That's the kind of thing you just don't say. It leads to bad things happening.

Like now. Another snake, larger than the one before, appears from a cross-street. It happens to hit Fred's leg with an audible crack, and he falls over.

He should be fine soon, once he catches his breath enough to heal himself. But until then...]

[Ohhh nooo, ohhh nooo, she should have known.

Before she can quite stop herself, Momo screams, her hands flying up to her mouth a moment after.]

A-ah... Aaah, are you okay, are you okay?! There's... There's one there and... and... And more are probably coming and...

[And she's babbling and she knows it and she can't fight that thing at all. Even so, she rushes back to him, intent on helping him up as quickly as she possibly can.] Come on!
seriallylucky: (my powers let me show you them)

Oof!

[Fred's first attempt at getting up doesn't go well. That leg isn't in good shape.

He closes his eyes and concentrates. A swirl of yellow sparkles rises up from the ground and into his leg. After that he's able to stand - just in time to see the snake coming around for another strike, which he does manage to dodge.]

Right! [Unfortunately, getting away is easier said than done.]

[That little display's enough to startle her.

She gasps, just barely keeping herself from backing away, then stops. If he can stand now, then his leg... Whatever he did, it must have worked!]

Okay... Okay... [She's regained a small measure of her composure by then, but that doesn't stop her from keeping as close to him as possible, especially with the snake so nearby.

She gasps when it rears back again, readying for another strike, and reaches to pull on his arm.]
Th-that thing you did... Can you do it to hurt it? Or.. Or we can run! You can run now, right?!

[Regardless of the answer though, it's already going for the strike.] ...O-or we can't run!

[By this point, Fred's had a chance to get his sword up. He doesn't actually expect it to do any good, but it's all he can offer.

As it turns out, this particular snake has already taken some damage. Enough that Fred's sword, hitting at exactly the right spot, snaps one of its fangs clean off.

And apparently losing a tooth is a distressing experience, even for a stone snake. It breaks off its strike to thrash on the ground.]

Now we can run! [Once he's sure Momo's moving, Fred wastes no time in suiting action to word.]

[Had she any breath for anything but running and shouting, Momo would breathe a sigh of relief just now. Instead, she proceeds to do exactly as Fred says, sparing only a moment to yell,] Thank you! Thank you, thank you... Thank you!

[She really was lucky to have this guy find her, wasn't she? If she hadn't...

Well, that's not something Momo wants to think about just now.

Instead, she runs as hard as she can, not even bothering to check whether the snake's moving again.]
