PLOT: WISE SNAKE'S EMERGENCE

Who: OPEN.
When: March 9th, Sunday, daylight hours.
Where: The business district of Locke City.
What: An enormous snake monster is pissed.
Warnings: Violence.

[The alien explodes silently - but it explodes.

First in a small cloud of hot (rose-scented) gas - those there to watch its final moments will want to step back.

A ripple in the air pulses - heavily - from where it once was, with absolutely no sound and color, but penetrating force. Anyone standing within two miles of the point of origin will feel a push, with those closest guaranteed to be knocked off their feet and temporarily dazed. Cars swerve and crash. Staff in the nearest office buildings launch into disarray. There’s no shielding from the blast - it can be felt through walls, through structures, in the air, and underground.

And it is felt underground.

The entire business district starts to shake, abruptly, jarred to a stir by some movement. It rises over the span of a long half-a-minute to the magnitude of December’s earthquake.

Tuning Towers experiences the worst of it - windows are smashing and objects are shaking loose and falling from the upper floors.

It finally ends - with screaming - as the head of an enormous pink snake breaks the lobby floor.

It flows its way quickly out of the hole it’s made, breaks itself another hole ever so politely through the main entrance doors, which were not meant to accommodate a twenty-foot-tall-and-wide exitor, and as it draws the last of its tail out after it, the quaking dies down.

It’s now roaring its way through the streets of Locke City’s business district - all several hundred meters of Wise Snake, emerged in the flesh (or stone?).

No regard for the walls of buildings, streetlamps, civilians, stopped and blindly pulled-over vehicles, anything else on its course - in a frantically-awakened, unrestricted rampage.]

shotguncarnage: (13; I could not keep them in place)

[ a bunch of them all coming together at once isn't anything short of strange to him. his priority is varric but the sight of the young girl makes him uncertain (why is she still hanging around?), and there's a moment before an absolutely black look crosses his face at the sight of gerald.

yeah, this is the dude you cut in front of.
]

Takin' my lines, too? [ that directed at Gerald, the monstrosity of a shotgun still held aloft. he isn't even sure how it works, just like the thing on his arm.

the girl's gushing on about- what- thermal clips?- catches his attention, and he ends up staring at her for a minute. yes, of course, he thinks, that makes sense. how else is he going to reload this beast? he frowns at her, at the gun, only to find there's yet another with them.

vakarian. solus. his eyes shoot back to varric.
]

I only recognize one of 'em, sir, and not because of the gun. [ he looks back to the other three ] Look, whatever's goin' on here, I don't rightly care just this moment. Should we be standin' here like this while we got goddamn- [ at a loss, he struggles to find a word and continues ] -thresher maw wannabes tear up the city?

[ speaking of, the ground is starting to rumble a little. ]

[ There were way too many things going on at once. First, there was his sister's friend going on about thermal... what are they called again? Thermal... something-or-others. The echo goes through him quickly, and while not fully understanding all that more about thermal clips, he is perhaps somewhat delighted to discover that... a few more of them have appeared at his feet.

Before he could say anything else, Mordin happened to pop up when he was least expected. ]

This teaches me to never make jokes about thresher maws again.

[ And finally... there was the guy he cut off in line the other day. With a brand of shotgun he recognized. (And a guy with a crossbow, too. But for some reason, he seemed slightly less important in the whole grand scheme of things.) ]

Whatever's going on, I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that you two are networked too. Not to mention, judging from the train of echoes—

[ But something cuts him off with another shake. ]

—Whatever you guys said managed to give me a fresh supply of thermal clips. Which... we might be needing soon.

[ Talking could come later. For now, they had a snake to fight. ]
