PLOT: WISE SNAKE'S EMERGENCE

Who: OPEN.
When: March 9th, Sunday, daylight hours.
Where: The business district of Locke City.
What: An enormous snake monster is pissed.
Warnings: Violence.

[The alien explodes silently - but it explodes.

First in a small cloud of hot (rose-scented) gas - those there to watch its final moments will want to step back.

A ripple in the air pulses - heavily - from where it once was, with absolutely no sound and color, but penetrating force. Anyone standing within two miles of the point of origin will feel a push, with those closest guaranteed to be knocked off their feet and temporarily dazed. Cars swerve and crash. Staff in the nearest office buildings launch into disarray. There’s no shielding from the blast - it can be felt through walls, through structures, in the air, and underground.

And it is felt underground.

The entire business district starts to shake, abruptly, jarred to a stir by some movement. It rises over the span of a long half-a-minute to the magnitude of December’s earthquake.

Tuning Towers experiences the worst of it - windows are smashing and objects are shaking loose and falling from the upper floors.

It finally ends - with screaming - as the head of an enormous pink snake breaks the lobby floor.

It flows its way quickly out of the hole it’s made, breaks itself another hole ever so politely through the main entrance doors, which were not meant to accommodate a twenty-foot-tall-and-wide exitor, and as it draws the last of its tail out after it, the quaking dies down.

It’s now roaring its way through the streets of Locke City’s business district - all several hundred meters of Wise Snake, emerged in the flesh (or stone?).

No regard for the walls of buildings, streetlamps, civilians, stopped and blindly pulled-over vehicles, anything else on its course - in a frantically-awakened, unrestricted rampage.]

[The henshin wand had appeared just before her, shining and as soon as her hands closed around it, the words came into her mind without further prompting.

Michiru found herself transformed, staring down at herself in shock at the short green skirt, gloved hands, touching the collar at her neck. She was Sailor Neptune, what that meant she wasn't sure just yet but she didn't have time to ponder that as one of the snakes lunged at her.

This was bad.

She stumbled back, she wasn't a soldier, she didn't know how to fight, she couldn't-

She could. Raising her hands, Neptune gathered herself as she had done this many times before.]

Deep Submerge!

[She looked just as surprised as the small snake in the wake of the attack, looking around to see if anyone else had see that.]

[You're in luck, Michiru. Abby was running by when she happened to see that attack from the sides. Of course, she didn't get a good clear view of it when she was running away from whatever snake was coming after her.

When she heard a shout coming from the side, she just stared at the damage that was done. For a moment, she had forgotten about the monsters that were lurking around to look around the area.

Who...just did all of this?]

[Neptune looks up from her hands to see Abby looking at her with surprise.

But before she can start to say that she didn't know what damage the attack would do, she lunges towards Abby as she sees another snake coming their way.]

Watch out behind you!

[sjokolade]

Wait, wh-

[Before she could even react to the oncoming snake, she found herself just stared wide eyed at the sudden push from the older girl. As soon as she was pushed to the side, Abby immediately looked back behind her to see another snake coming her way.]

Jeez, how many of these stupid snakes are there anyway?! That's the second one I encountered already! [But man, were they in so much danger right now...]

[elegantsoldier]

Too many! [As soon as Neptune is sure Abby is behind her, she raises her arms because these snakes are almost swarming them.]

Deep Submerge!

[The wall of water crashes into the the snakes, knocking them back and away from them to fall still. Neptune turns to her with a soft smile as soon as she knew the attack hit.]

Are you alright? It's scary, I know, but it seems they can be dealt with at least.

[sjokolade]

[That attack. It was the same attack as the one who saw moments before! So doesn't that mean...]

Y-You're the one who attacked all those snakes with that water before! How is that...how is that possible?!

[Of course, all she could do was just stare at her in amazement at the damage that was left behind from the attack. ...Oh right, she should speak now shouldn't she?]

Yeah, they definitely could! I mean, they look super tough but at least we can defend ourselves in some ways right? [Ahahahahaha...] But what you did there was seriously cool though.

[elegantsoldier]

I'm not sure, the snake came at me and suddenly I knew how to do that.

[It's very confusing to know how to do something so well without realizing it. She knows this is who she is though, but there are still so many unanswered questions.

But she smiles when Abby said what she did was cool.]

Thank you. Do you have somewhere safe to go? I heard some mention of safe places to go if you don't have anywhere else right now.

[sjokolade]

[Abby just shook her head. Well, she can go back home but the last thing she wants is to worry her dad right now.]

Well, I can go back home but I'm not too sure would you call that a 'safe' place to be right now? I mean, to be honest?

[With that, she shifted a bit before giving a small nervous laugh. For as much as she lived in Locke City her entire life...?]

I...don't really know where the safe places to go are...?

[elegantsoldier]

I've heard of some safe zones where people are going until things clear up. I'll go with you to make sure you get there alright.

[Neptune offers her a kind smile before looking around to see if any more snakes are coming.]

What's your name? [She asks as they start walking, Neptune keeping the pace brisk so they can get away from the snakes faster. The longer they linger here, well, she's not sure what's going to happen but she doubts it's anything good.]

Um...okay then?

[Abby just smiled back at her. Yes, it did feel a little awkward knowing that she knew so little about her own city but that was for another time. Until then, she started mumbling to herself. Those snakes...just what were they anyway...?]

O-Oh right! My name is Abby and thank you again for saving me back there! But what about you? You're not hurt or anything right? [Meanwhile, the girl will be...looking around to see if there was any other snakes around...]

[elegantsoldier]

[It takes her a moment to figure out the right direction, she's new to the city and figuring things out has been slow going.]

You're welcome. I'm fine, thankfully I learned how to do that attack with the water when the first snake attacked me. [Which was perfect timing, really but maybe that's how these things worked.

But she doesn't dwell on it long before a movement out of the corner of her eyes catches her attention as she suddenly shoves Anna aside so she can kick away the snake attempting to lunge at them.] Watch out!

[sjokolade]

Really? Then you're pretty lucky! Then it sounds like whatever Echo might come next will sure to be an awesome one later on right? There's got to be something else to top that one!

[As Abby looked around, it seemed like they were in the clear thus far. It was kind of funny. While she wanted an adventure of sorts, this was a little different from what she had in mind.

Then again, she just had to wait for whatever 'powers' might come to her right? However, when she was pushed to the side once more?]

H-Hey, what was that fo- oh, c'mon, there's more of them now?!

[elegantsoldier]

I'm not sure but it seems like they're more than I thought. [This is troubling to Neptune because as many people she can see fighting the snakes, it's going to be tough getting control of them all while protecting those who couldn't fight.]

Are you alright? [Once the snake is still, Neptune turns towards Anna again, worried. She didn't mean to shove her very rough, just enough to ensure she was out of the way of the snake.]

[sjokolade]

Hey...d-do you think that there might be more than enough that could actually... [She didn't want to finish the rest of her sentence. She didn't want to think about how many of those 'snakes' were there ready to kill so many other people.

It was funny too...at how she couldn't stop shaking.] Yeah, I'm okay! I...I think I'm just not really use to all of this...

[elegantsoldier]

We won't let them. [Neptune didn't want her to finish that thought. She felt a burning desire to what she could do to stop this, to fight what was endangering them all.

As more snakes approached them, she paused to bend down to pick up a thick but short piece of wood, some wood before handing it to Anna.] You may need this, we'll fight them off.

[sjokolade]

[With the wood in her hand, that was when the young girl started panicking.]

B-But I don't know how to fight much less trying to fight off giant snakes like that!

[While she did want to protect people, that was the problem. How could she do something like that with just wood?] Shouldn't I get some training first?

[elegantsoldier]

Grip it tight, like this.

[Neptune reached out to show Anna how to hold it securely.] Swing it as hard as you can, but make each blow count.

[Neptune gives Anna a small smile then, she'll make sure the girl makes it through.] I'll be right by your side, don't worry.

[sjokolade]

You mean like a bat?

[She questioned as soon as she begun to switch it around. Even with Michiru's smile, that didn't make things better! In fact, it probably made things a little bit worse!]

A-All right then? That means I'll actually fight against the snakes then...?

[elegantsoldier]

It's not hard, just put your strength into it. [Neptune is distracted then by having to kick a snake away which had been trying to wrap around one of her ankles, crushing it under her heel.

Once she gets a moment, she pulls up her powers once more to send a wave crashing into the snakes but she's starting to feel exhausted, her shoulders sagging, slightly out of breath. ]

They aren't stopping, we have to escape.

[sjokolade]

[There was no turning back now, Abby just had to try her best to attack whatever snakes were coming her way! Even with no real training, she just had to try! With a gulp, she quickly smacked away a snake away with all her strength...!

...Did it work?

When she opened her eyes, she saw that it did work! As the remains of the snake was on the ground, she gave a sigh of relief.] H-hey, did you see t-

[Before she could finish, her smile quickly changed into concern] Hey, are you okay? [Oh right] Then let's hurry, there's got to be a place where it might be safe around here!

[She gave the other girl her hand in attempt to run.]

Lets go! [Neptune doesn't pause to answer the question about her well being as she grabs Anna's hand. The street is chaotic, she doesn't want them to get separated as they run through the debris.

As they start to get some distance, she slows down, letting go of Anna's hand] You did pretty good there.

[sjokolade]

[At first, Abby raised an eyebrow that the missed question but she'll let it slide for now. She wasn't quite as tired as Michiru was but she couldn't help but feel a little guilty about it though.]

Hey, you should take some credit for yourself! You did pretty awesome back there too with all that water power you got going on! You shouldn't sell yourself short there!

[But the tone in her voice? She is worried if she might be pushing herself just a bit]

[elegantsoldier]

You're very sweet to say so. [And Neptune is touched, but there is also that feeling that she couldn't have done otherwise.]

I'm still uncertain as to where it's coming from, I've never been able to do anything like this before.

[sjokolade]

It's not a problem, I'm just more worried about how you're holding up against those snakes!

[She gave a small giggle]

Well either way, just take it easy. I mean, there's got to be somewhere we can go until this is all over! [Hm...]

I could always ask my dad if he wouldn't mind having someone to stay until all the damage is cleaned up though....

[elegantsoldier]

I couldn't impose on him but thank you for the offer. That's very kind of you.

[She may still be figuring things out but she knows that someone finding out who she really is is not a good idea.

Once they reach the end of the rubble, she stops to look around, making sure there are no snakes which have gotten out so far before looking back at Abby.]

You'll be safe now, do you have somewhere to go yourself?
