3rd Vision [Video/iPad, Wednesday morning]

[The big-eared tabby-and-white kitten is back. Those of you at the mine might have seen him there, mostly clinging to Alex but occasionally bolting around like a lost, unhappy little thing in a very overwhelming sort of circumstance. Which, y'know, he was.

He still looks a little overwhelmed and unhappy, but he's here.]

So, uh. No one has said anything about the mine... thing... and what the sage of the earth said. Sahhu'auio ur-au-- I mean-- does anyone believe him? Is there actually a jewel down there somewhere? Or was it all hruiss aafaui?

I mean... if we believe it... is anyone sauhhu ur-reh? I mean-- I mean, is anyone going auwsshui’f hwo again? To look?

[He looks even more nervous at that idea.]

I'm almost dead sure that was a lie. I think the poor guy was being mind-controlled by Thunder Corp, and he was there to distract us while they sprung the trap by spouting off some garbage about stones.

[That makes him droops a little, maybe with relief, maybe with disappointment-- probably both.]

Oh... so we're even more ssha than we were before.

[He pauses, realizes he missed a word, and adds:]

Lost. More lost than we were before.

Okay... thanks.

[He isn't sure what to do with that. There's a pause as he answers a few other responses, then he gets back to her again:]

There's another ehhif who thinks we should check just in case.

I want to pet every cat.

[What does that have to do with anything? Gomez flicks his ears uncertainly.]

Is that a good thing?

Sorry, I got a little carried away. You're just... Really fuckin' cute, okay.

Oh. Well, my ehhif does say I am.

[Usually without the "fucking" part, which Gomez doesn't actually understand, but he does like being called cute. It usually leads to food and/or petting.]

And I don't mind petting. Though I don't know how you would pet me through this.

[His ear flicks, and he winces a little. Yeah, he knows that voice.]

Um, yeah, sorry about that... I didn't, uh. Didn't know you were on here.

It's like a video game except we haven't gotten any cool weapons.

[He deflates a little, though, when he's forced to admit:]

Though still not a weapon, I guess. Do my claws count? I've always had those.

[Fred frowns.] Somebody probably should go back. At least check whether there's something there.

[He's not entirely sure whether he wants in on that, if and when it happens, but he does think it should.]

Do you think so? Somebody else said they think it was just a big lie.

Well, if we go back and there's nothing there, that's one thing. But if there is something there, and we don't go back, we might not be able to... [Words, words... Fred waves a hand at the edge of the frame as if to call the words to him, then shakes his head and gives it up.] ... to do whatever needs to be done. That Seal thing.

[A brief pause.] We should be careful, though. I guess that could be another trap.

[Please hold for a moment, paralyzed by cute.

I don't know if I'd take it at face value, but I think it's possible that there's something. If the entire point was to trap and kill us there, then they wouldn't really need to give us a story at all once we were inside.

... that makes sense.

[More sense than it being entirely a lie, anyway. Gomez shakes his head vigorously, making his ears flap. Have some more cute, Hajime.]

Why bother saying anything, right? Just. You know. Kill us all at once. Do you think it's a good thing that's down there? Like the guy said? Or a bad thing?

...I'm not sure. The explanation he offered seems almost too simple, though.

Sadly, It's the only clue we have right now.

[Unless the boy whose father works for Thunder Corp went through his father's things. Hmm. Well, it's not like he could be grounded any further than he already is.]

One of us ought to try eventually. If we take precautions.

[He doesn't know how to explain it, but the idea that something precious is hidden underground like that... it makes sense to him.]

Um. Well, I can go invisible. That's precautions, right?

[He thinks. He's not entirely sure what "precaution" means, but he thinks it's has something to do with caution, which he knows means being careful.]

[ A sight for sore eyes. He's relieved that Gomez had not only managed to escape with the rest of them, but do so apparently unharmed, too. ]

I want to think that there's really something down there. If I didn't, then it feels like the whole reason for going into the mines was meaningless in the first place.

[ And no one likes to think that something so senseless as what happened to them was for nothing. ]

I'm glad you're okay, too.

[Which is kind of how Gomez feels. Though at the same time, he hasn't thought too hard about everyone else. He's a kitten; it hadn't even occured to him to worry.

Yeah. Everyone's probably still shaken up, but we're all fine.

[ "Fine" might be kind of relative, but it sounded too callous to just say "alive." Either way, he leans forward a little curiously. ]

So, do you believe it? That's there's really something down there for us to find?
