3rd Vision [Video/iPad, Wednesday morning]

[The big-eared tabby-and-white kitten is back. Those of you at the mine might have seen him there, mostly clinging to Alex but occasionally bolting around like a lost, unhappy little thing in a very overwhelming sort of circumstance. Which, y'know, he was.

He still looks a little overwhelmed and unhappy, but he's here.]

So, uh. No one has said anything about the mine... thing... and what the sage of the earth said. Sahhu'auio ur-au-- I mean-- does anyone believe him? Is there actually a jewel down there somewhere? Or was it all hruiss aafaui?

I mean... if we believe it... is anyone sauhhu ur-reh? I mean-- I mean, is anyone going auwsshui’f hwo again? To look?

[He looks even more nervous at that idea.]

I'm almost dead sure that was a lie. I think the poor guy was being mind-controlled by Thunder Corp, and he was there to distract us while they sprung the trap by spouting off some garbage about stones.

I want to pet every cat.

[His ear flicks, and he winces a little. Yeah, he knows that voice.]

Um, yeah, sorry about that... I didn't, uh. Didn't know you were on here.

... okay?

[What does that have to do with anything? Gomez flicks his ears uncertainly.]

Is that a good thing?

[That makes him droops a little, maybe with relief, maybe with disappointment-- probably both.]

Oh... so we're even more ssha than we were before.

[He pauses, realizes he missed a word, and adds:]

Lost. More lost than we were before.

And here I thought I was the one that needed to stop doing stupid stuff.

It's like a video game except we haven't gotten any cool weapons.

Yeah, basically.

[Fred frowns.] Somebody probably should go back. At least check whether there's something there.

[He's not entirely sure whether he wants in on that, if and when it happens, but he does think it should.]

Okay... thanks.

[He isn't sure what to do with that. There's a pause as he answers a few other responses, then he gets back to her again:]

There's another ehhif who thinks we should check just in case.

Well. I can talk. That's something cool, right?

[Not a weapon, though. NOT YET.]

Do you think so? Somebody else said they think it was just a big lie.

... if you guys think you can do it safely, I guess.

...

But I think I have a better idea. Do you remember when everyone was talking about those statues in the museum? How good are you at knocking things over? And at sneaking into places you really shouldn't be? Because I think us humans can't take care of those... but maybe you could get in and break those.

[The look he gives her-- oh look, it's a she-ehhif with eyes like a cat's!-- is one step from an eyeroll.]

I'm a Person. I am amazing at knocking stuff over and sneaking places. And also, uh. I can kind of go invisible.

[He looks tentatively pleased, at that. Nervous, still, but pleased. He's not sure where it came from or why, but he can do it, and it's awesome.]

[GRIN]

People [she assumes by that he means "cats"] are basically the best at that. Also, the fact that you're an invisible Person is even better.

I'm not sure if it's safe for you to go alone -- think your other Person friend might help?

Well, if we go back and there's nothing there, that's one thing. But if there is something there, and we don't go back, we might not be able to... [Words, words... Fred waves a hand at the edge of the frame as if to call the words to him, then shakes his head and gives it up.] ... to do whatever needs to be done. That Seal thing.

[A brief pause.] We should be careful, though. I guess that could be another trap.

If the seal thing isn't a lie, too. But-- but I can be invisible now. Not for very long... maybe that'll help anyway?

[He's hopeful. He feels like he didn't do much during the cave thing except be scared. Surely there's something else he can do to prove he's a tom, and all! ... well, a fixed tom. But still!]

[Aw, she's talking to him using his own slang. She's automatically a neat person, and probably even a friend. Even if he sounds a little dubious when he answers-- not in any understandable language, at first, but he catches himself.]

Riwihhu'auo sh'heih ur-reh. Uh. I mean, I can ask her. She can't go invisible too, though, I think... is that okay?

Well, even without being invisible, you're both good at hiding and running, right? I'm sure if she thinks she's up for it, it'll all work out fine. You're smart, you can do it.

[Ooh. Fred hadn't thought about that. Not that it actually changes a whole lot, once he does; it's just one more possibility of either "nothing" or "trap within a trap".]

I bet it will. Even when you're not invisible, you're a lot smaller than a human, so you're probably harder to notice.

[Yes, she has definitely earned a high spot in Gomez's book of names. She called him smart. He sits a little straighter and puts his whiskers forward. It's not quite a smile, but if she knows cats, it's an expression of pleasure and interest.]

All right. We'll do it. Or I will, and I'll see about her. Uh. Someone will have to show me where the museum is... my ehhif told me about it a few days ago, but he said I couldn't go.

Yeah. Yeah, I guess so. I didn't get attacked as much in the mine thing... though that might've been the invisible part, too.

So I guess I should... go back, then.

[Noselick.]

I can take you there, but you'll have to ride in a box, I'm afraid. And on the train. I know that's probably no fun, but human rules are stupid.

I can also get you a map of the museum.

[Gomez hates boxes. The pleased expression turns into one of distaste, ears turned back a little.]

Could I go on a leash? My ehhif took me to the food store on a leash once.

[He doesn't know about maps, much less links, though, so he'll have to get Alex to show him that part.]

... oh right, leashes are a thing. Yeah, we can do that. Way more civilized than a box, at least.
