Today is "Talk Like a Pirate Day." I feel like I ought to do something for that. On the other hand, all those "pirate" trappings are completely ridiculous. Hook hands make for very poor penmanship, for instance.

As now, when he puts a wing-hand on her shoulder, shifts it, and bats at an earring with his clawed thumb.]

Oh, it's just one of those silly observance days. It's supposed to be fun. Spend all day talking like a pirate. Or, in some cases, I've seen people dress as them to mark the occasion.
