Okay I realize aliens are historic and important, and I should probably be more excited right now, but what the fuck is happening to my ears? They're growing or something.

[Growing points, but whatever, let's not advertise that.]

I think I screwed up somewhere. They were sore so I put on a chili pepper extract that I use for my calve muscles after hikes, and now they're just burning like all hell. What can I do to get this stuff off them? Bread?

. . . I really don't want to know what Sci-fi you watch. I never saw the actual broadcast, just recaps of them. I guess they're cool?

It sounds like they want to set things right, and I can respect that. I mean, you can't control what your employees do all the time, right? If one starts to freak out, or whatever. I don't fault them for it, I think.

I really want to believe them. Is that strange?

Nah, I think everybody is cool with what they're doing, so you're not alone. If you were the only one maybe it would be weird, but no.

Wait, no one has brought up any objections to them yet? Where are the conspiracy theory nuts?

Well, I haven't talked to literally everybody, that's impossible. I'm sure that there are some nutjobs out there, I just haven't met them. And really? I'm glad I haven't. I'm having enough crazy right now.

You have me there. You're the first person I asked anyway, so you're probably right. There are probably a bunch of people out there who are up in arms over them. Like you, I've had my own crazy to deal with.

Do you actually have super hearing to go with it? I keep being asked that.

[arrowpoint]

Nope. Wait, you have super hearing? No fair.

I actually don't? Just people keep asking me if I do.

Oh, okay. I guess that makes a little sense though, getting new ears and all.

I'm planning on going out and practicing with hearing things soon, to see if it's something I can learn to do. But Like I was saying some people were asking about it. Maybe we can practice trying to hear things together?

Haha, that's a crazy way to hang out, people will think we're nuts... but seriously I guess we could try?

Question. What do you think it means if we both have these ears, anyway? I thought everybody was supposed to be different.

Have you met the Thorssons? Pretty much everyone there is a Dwarf aside from my aunt. So a few of us cropping up with pointy ears aropund the same time isn't so strange. We might have even known each other in the past!

I'm not sure I've met them, I don't think so?

God I hope I'm not a dwarf I don't want to get any shorter. Do the dwarves you know have pointy ears, or is that more of a fairy type thing? I don't want to sprout wings either, though. The ears are bad enough.

[She thinks about it, a moment Her uncle was tall but Killian was short and as far as she could recall none of them had pointy ears or wings.]

I don't think dwarves sprout wings? And no pointy ears, at least that I can recall. That seems to be among only a handful of us who remain rather tall.

I mean fairies sprout wings. You don't think we're fairies, do you?

I'm probably not a dwarf then, which is fine by me, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Well the other people that I know who have the ears haven't sprouted wings yet either so, here is hoping no.

That's a relief at least. Are there a lot of us?

So far I think there are five of us? Don't quote me, I'm still not sure we're all from the same place.

[She'd feel more confident if she had any memories to go with it, but try as she might, no miraculous memories were springing forth to offer any solutions, or even further conclusions to her.]

Huh. What about that family of dwarves that you were talking about? Are they from the same place? You think it's possible?

[sylvanguard]

[Given that she knows for certain that she and Killian shared a past, it's safe to assume that she and thw dwarves at the very least were all from the same place... she just isn't sure how she wants to go about explaining it, since the pulse was not very forthcoming on the amount of information it provided.]

I think it's possible. Actually no. I KNOW it's possible.

Really? That's kind of cool, but how do you know?

[She sighs thinking about how to address it. Finally figuring face to face is the best.]
