[Kara's staring seriously into the camera when it clicks on, hair pulled up into a messy bun and arms spread business-like across her desk. on her left is an impressive stack of children's valentines (you know the kind, the ones with cartoon characters you buy in boxes for the class party) and on her right is an equally impressive bag of fun size chocolate.]

Greetings, fellow clubmates! I am sorry to be taking up your attention like this, but considering the date I am afraid that it cannot be avoided.

[the way she's speaking makes it seem like this is a life or death scenario, but then she keeps going and...]

In only a few days' time the Day of Valentines will be upon us! We do not celebrate such a holiday at home, but I have done the research on it and know very well that not receiving an affectionate greeting card can cause irreparable damage to one's soul and ruin lives!

[that's how it seemed in the many, many movies she watched that touched on the subject, at least]

I do not wish for my dear Numbered friends to suffer such a tragic fate! There were a great deal of charming cards and sweets on sale which I have taken the liberty of purchasing, and I implore you to allow me to write you at least one of them!

We may arrange for a drop-off point if you are leery of having your identity revealed, but please do not let pride keep you from accepting it! There is only so much time in which I can make these deliveries. I promise that my penmanship is excellent and any good tidings I write will stave off the horrible life-crushing feelings!

What was it like living on the farm anyway? I just lived here all my life so I never really got a chance to see what it's like living somewhere different! It must be so much fun with all those animals and that tractor too! ^_^

Yeah, I guess so. I mean I'm only 15 so I still have a lot of plan out! I'm still young and hip!

there were not actually that many animals! we grew wheat and the like rather than raising animals, so the few we had were for personal use. it was a great deal of work, and often very dirty, but i enjoyed it greatly. it is a very satisfying feeling to see the harvest come in at the end of the year and know that you played a hand in its success. :)

exactly! you are at the very beginning of your life, so there is no expectation to have everything well in hand now. simply enjoy the moments.

I'll say, it sounds like there's plenty of hard work that was put into it! It seemed like it took a lot of time too and especially when it looks like that everything just paid off in the end! I might have to try that some day when I have the time...

Yeah...I really hope so! And I'll definitely try to hope for the best!

you could always do the window garden if you are searching for something less difficult in the meantime. i have heard that they can be quite charming when tended properly. :)

Window garden? You mean just like planning flowers and plants by the window and see what happens from there? Hm...that sounds like it would be a good start...

But I would need to figure out what kind of soil and plant to plant first. Hmm...so many decisions! So little time!

well, you could first decide on whether you would like to simply have pretty flowers or mimic a farm. and then after checking the light you receive from your window, simply choose your favorites! :)

there is much more room for variety since you are not looking to turn a profit from your harvest, haha.

Or even as a way to tell my brother that I can do a lot more than he thinks I can! That will show him!

you would be surprised what empowerment you can feel from successfully cultivating another living being! i am certain that they will be most lovely. :)

Hm...mind if I ask you something else?

Let's say that there's a flower that I want to get for a certain someone. What would you think? It doesn't have to be romantic but it would just say just...enough for him to really understand what I'm feeling, what would it be?

i think that is a wonderful idea! flowers are often used to express one's feelings, although which one i would recommend would depend on what you wish to say.

[There was a pause coming from her. Yes, it was true that she wanted to get back at her brother for his attempt for tricking her.

He made her think that he was dying! That's just rude! Of course, burning chocolate would be the way to go but...]

Something that says "I hate you but you're still my brother and I will still love you regardless."

oh! i am quite familiar with that arrangement. let me think a moment...

i believe that the most appropriate choice in this situation would be whatever you find the prettiest presented after a thorough tongue-lashing. it is usually very effective in getting the point across. :)

I was thinking of giving him some spicy chocolate as a way to get back at him! But now I'm starting to think that maybe that might be a little too mean...

But then again, he made me think that he was dying! So he should get something like that in return!

i think that so long as you are careful with the amount of spice you insert it would be an acceptable plan to enact. startling a family member in that way can be incredibly hurtful, and it is something one must keep in mind even if the lesson must be learned through culinary heat.

I wasn't going to put that much in! Maybe just enough to burn his tongue? Just a bit? At least just enough to give him a lesson on how to treat his younger sister a whole lot nicer!

But I'm also planning on giving him some nice flowers too...

i think that in that case they will balance each other out very nicely. you do not have anything to worry about! :)

well, i suppose i cannot argue with such a strong reasoning! i will simply have to accept my lot in life and prepare for a lovely bouquet. ^^

You better be prepared! One day you'll see some random flowers by your doorstep! ...Wherever that is I guess?

that may be best, as i do not think that flowers would survive very long waiting in a university hallway. xD
