The countryside was nice and the plants were singing and the birds and the sun was almost up from the bottom of the sky. The mood was set for Teresa Pyrope's quest to help the newbie LARPers where she was. Teresa Pyrope looked around the countrysides and said, "It's a good day to do what has to be done by me and help these people to have fun."

[In retrospect, Mac isn't entirely sure why he agreed to this.

He had brought some foam armor of his own, even, a theme set that gave off the fakey-fake appearance of large plate armor (sans helmet, of course, he wants to be able to look like a co no-helmetted knight. A huge foam hammer slung over his shoulder casually. It'd look like he was almost excited if he wasn't burning with the white hot fires of embarrassment.

Either way, it wasn't the worst thing he's ever done, and he might as well enjoy talking and playing around with people. At least no one else could call him a nerd while they were dressed up.]

[ As ever, Aria looks 110% okay with what is happening. She is far too cheerful about everything ever. Her ranger costume is actually fairly legit looking, if only because a) she has done things like this before and b) her sister makes costumes for fun. She probably has Pete the dog with her, and will generally hang out around Travis and/or Soren and/or Pete.

She doesn't look the least bit embarrassed or hateful, unshockingly, and will wave at anyone she recognizes, or smile at anyone she doesn't.

In terms of padded foam weapons, Aria can be found giving hers a few practice swings beforehand. ]

[Soren hasn't really strayed far at all from where Aria is since getting there. He doesn't really know anyone else after all (he barely even knows her when it comes down to it) and he's never really been to anything like this before either. He's starting to regret even agreeing to this in the first place since it's really not his kind of thing.

But for now he's still sticking close to her and just watching all these weirdos other people who are milling around and whatnot, and trying to figure out how he even let himself get roped into this.]

[Roxy is actually really into this, and is grinning dorkily under the false beard. It's difficult to see, but it's there.]

[ There's definitely no embarrassment on this kid's face. His bard costume is carefully put together, straight out of the pages of the guidebook and just as flashy. Even his chair is fancied up! And the spear is awesome.

Everything is awesome. He's so pumped.

He's handed Pete the Puggle over to Aria, but every so often he can be found with the dog on his lap.

It's not like he's been looking forward to this all week or anything. ]

[Compared to Travis' costume, Mac's is practically mothballed - the foam armor looks to be a couple years old, and was given a quick retrofit. The hammer's obviously seen better days. It looks like it might have been made from a popular guide circa 2009.

But that's no reason not to compliment Travis on being the coolest bard.]

Travis? [He's laughing.] Holy crud, you look good. Straight out of a renaissance faire.

[Miles though his mage-outfit-sans-bird-and-white-wig was good, but holy wow, the attention to detail on this guy's costume is amazing.]

[As promised, Avery shows up wielding a camera and dressed... like a photographer? Can you even dress like a photographer? No one knows. However, she does have a shitty sword jammed through her belt, so she's some kind of ninja photographer, obviously. Don't worry, it's only for show.

To seal the deal, she steals a cape from the costume box and dons it, then goes to find a picnic table and parks herself on it, like someone who is Way Too Cool for this shit. Which she is.

Even though she's here anyway, watching the other kids show up and proudly assume the mantles of their alter-egos. It's all in good fun. Really.]

Isaac Dian: Magician! & Miria Dian: WARRIOR!

[The Dians might not be exactly sure what they're doing, but it looked like there was fun to be had! So they gathered together their old costumes and, with a bit of tweaking, arrived in neat outfits.

Isaac was decked out in a giant, black coat with a stupid fake mustache and a top hat. Magicians count as wizards, right?

Meanwhile, Miria decided to take a more fantastical approach, and had put together fake armor, a viking helmet, a shield, and a sword.

They may have shown up with no... real knowledge of what they were doing, but they were gonna have fun with buddies.

Even if they might have to make last-second clothing changes.]

[Roxy Lalonde has no idea what she is doing, but damned if she'll let that stop her! She's assembled a makeshift robe and staff out of Teresa's provided props, and is currently searching for a beard to complete the outfit, muttering things about length, whiteness, and "dumbledore-style". She is, for once, sober. Too many kids here. She does seem cheerful, though.]

[Who has shown up in a long white sleeveless trenchcoat -- pretty clearly home-made, and by someone who is NOT a costumer -- a kind of weird plastic cyberpunk visor thing? It is this woman. Also, she is packing SO MANY FUCKING NERF GUNS, including some mods that are probably super illegal. Why sleeveless? To show of dem guns, by which we mean the robot arms that also turn into (nonfunctional) guns]

[Miles brought his own costume (no white wig or stuffed bird familiar though, not this time). Good thing he's a bit of a geek, huh? But he's not so comfortable here-- in fact, he's very anxious, because even if this is a huge geek con-thing, he's...

He's showing his face to other people from the network. So this is probably a bad idea.

He's also tugging a bit at his clothes. While he's had these for a while due to a previous LARP session, magic has not been his favorite topic since talking to Sophie about it.

So basically he's an awkward-looking tiny mage teen around all these older teens and possibly adults.]

He's got a foam sword he brought on his own, and a rogue costume--a dark outfit with leather gloves and boots, anyway--supplemented by a gray cloak from the box. Those fucking circuit goggles are over his eyes, naturally. It's a bright morning, shut up.]

[it took him a little while to throw two of his cosplaying outfits together and redo his braided hair in order to go from slowly-turning-into-yakuza-fodder Shou to Pirate King Shou. There were probably weapons under his long coat, and weapons up his sleeves, but they were most likely foamy regular weapons and not anything real unless one wanted to count the knife he had strapped inside his boot. that piece was just in case something decided to crash the party.]

ASUKA LANGLEY SORYU, COMPLETE BUZZKILL

[Asuka could do three things on a Saturday: study, work out, or go make fun of LARPers. Since she could excuse the latter with wanting an excuse to go talk to Network people in person, that's what she chose.]

[Of course, rather than a couple nerds with nerf swords, she found quite a group; plus she was out of place in her nice street clothes, so for the first little while she hangs back quietly and wonders if anyone will actually recognize her. She can save her cutting remarks about people behaving like little kids for later, right?]
