[ Any of the Numbered who have set foot outside today are likely to have seen some of the rather unique posters plastered around on every available building/lamppost/fence/beloved family pet. Observe the glitter-saturated horror. ]



[ Y E A H. Regardless of which echo boundary they're in, the notices are everywhere. Some lucky Numbered may even have had one shoved into their mailbox! GOSH. There's also an address for a weddng chapel in Vegas (confusing many Fussen locals in particular) and a note that masks are mandatory and will be provided to people who don't already have one. How considerate!

C'mon, Numbered Specials. Party with Badri and forget all the horrid stressful things that are happening. ]

[Julien reads the badge from a distance. Grace Turner... he vaguely remembers hearing that name. More relevant, her costume! He considers, then intensifies his harmlessness and the awkward edge that isn't entirely an act before pulling the veil away from his face and approaching.]

Pardon me! Was it Ms. Turner? I'm Julien Sakazaki. [anyone who follows the Numbered at all can recognize him. This is polite, though.] Just wanted to note that ah [He smiles broadly.] -wow, your dress! It's adorable! That can't be store-bought.

Nice. [If this was in Locke he'd ask if she knew some of the same cosplayers he did, but he hasn't built up as many friends here.] Very nice! Is it your work?

Ah, actually I don't know for sure. [He frowns considering.] The flyers are everywhere, which speaks of some weird ability, and there's really just one person I know with unknown resources, that kind of enthusiasm, and calls the numbered 'specials'. Badri Barkley.

I have a few. Who is "Badri"?

[Julien raises his eyebrows, surprised she doesn't know, but keeps his voice mild and friendly.]

He's one of the three so-called aliens, along with Meredith Chownyk and Geoff Benwick. They came in a spaceship and apparently Geoff can have wings, he helped out in some kind of runaway car incident.

They showed up in... April, after the snake battle.

You think so? That's a pity. I could still track him down and introduce you, I saw him around in a mask.

[He starts to rise out of his slight trying-not-to-loom crouch but subsides again.]

[It always strikes him as weird how little the world and the aliens are interacting. A year ago he'd have expected to hear reporters begging for a chance like this.]

Say, would you mind uh turning in a circle for me? I want to see the back of your dress and it'd just be creepy walking around you.

[She spins, letting him get a good look at her costume]

Aww, thanks. Looks good! So what made you decide to wear a Sleeping Beauty gown to this, Ms. Turner? Were you afraid there'd be two Maleficents?

D'you go to cons, and have you ever been to LockCon up in New Jersey? It was cancelled this year but we had a pretty good turnout last year. It's scifi, though I see fantasy costumes all the time there.
