Description: A minute after midnight EST, some people around the world who used to be numbered yet have lost their echoes since suddenly have all their pulses returned to them.

At 4pm EST, a child's laughing voice resounds in the air all around the world, remaining for over a minute and staying longer where it gets caught in the echo between buildings, mountains, or other echoing surfaces. Not long after, people in areas where the moon is visible (like those in Europe) will see pink lights on the moon, like a pink aurora borealis from above going all the way around the moon, and then the whole moon changes shape. Literally. It unfolds into a giant serpent that soon can be seen from everywhere around the world as it moves to wrap around the world, tossing and turning head and tail as if trying to hit and bite nasty flies. ...And if someone gets out a telescope, they'll realize that the serpent is doing exactly that: There are tiny spaceships attacking it and trying to pass by it, but for now it is holding up. ....You might maybe rather get to safety than get your telescope out though, because the serpent sometimes smashes down into the earth in its tossing and turning, and while it doesn't hit inhabited areas that still causes tsunamis and earthquakes. Giorgio A. Tsoukalos and Erich von Däniken will announce that it's totally aliens!!! SEE THEY CALLED IT. Ancient astronauts that gave the earth culture are coming back to us!

What this day is for: This day is mostly for reconnecting with returnees and dealing with the last wave of plot echoes. It is also for catastrophe relief efforts for areas that are hit by tsunamis or earthquakes. The only echo boundary that will be devastated in this way are the Galapagos Islands. Characters that can fly or have special swimming abilities are especially invited to help with rescuing people and delivering first aid. (Icly, the talks with the first wave aliens also happen here and they will be wrapped up or dropped after the 4th of May. You are still welcome to jump in and talk to an alien!)

How this works:

- Day 1 does not have any alien encounters past those in this log.
- There will be no toplevels on this post. Please start your own threads freely! Please format the subject line like this: "Location(s)/Network | ota/closed/etc". Please keep in mind that each character may change location twice per day (=a maximum of three different locations) and that the moon/space location is still off limits on the 1st Day.
- This post can be used for both network and action threads.
- Keep in mind that returnee characters must have checked in and must request their echoes if they get any.

[Blue light had trailed after Arthur's motorcycle, signifying just how much force went into its engines via his influence. When he came to that perfect halt, he stepped off and kicked the stand on it down to the pavement, walking up to Emilia.

He was wearing the nice suit he bought just that morning.]

I figured waiting would be a bad idea. Kyle's alright, anyway.

[That was certainly a neat trick. And to be able to stop so quickly and suddenly looked cool.
And hey, she got him wearing a suit out of his own free will after all. That gets a approving and slightly coquettish smile...]

[Fixing his tie a little, Arthur found himself smiling simply out of reflex--seeing Emilia's own smile.]

That's good. Whatever's happening--we'll be ready for it, right? If people are finding safe ground, we'll be able to take on other big monsters if they wanna screw with us.

[Her smile turns feral. In fact, calling it a smile would be inaccurate. Smiles showed happiness, but this just showed teeth.] I for one am certainly not going to make this easy on them...

They come here looking for a fight, we'll give one to them.

[There was a turbulent swell in Arthur's chest as he saw that look on Emilia's face. Without a second thought, he took off his coat jacket and began to unbutton his shirt.

Better then than later.]

If that's the case, Emi, you should have a drink now. By the time anything happens, you'll be relaxed.

[Until now, feeding on him was something that she did in intimate situations, so she was a bit surprised at first.]

What... Here?

[Arthur suddenly stopped, his hand poised at his collar--]

...What, really?

[That was something he never really thought of. Maybe it was because he felt a little loopy after losing blood, but Arthur had thought of it fairly clinically.]

Oh. [He was still a little concerned. Anytime Emilia wasn't proud and smiling was a moment he thought was worthy of noticing and being concerned about.]

[Well, she decides to surprise him with a sudden kiss...]

[A puzzled look took Arthur for a moment, before he finally dismissed it. That was fine, anyway. It was likely that Emilia would continue to surprise him, but it wasn't as if that made him at all unhappy.]

Okay. [He smiled and pulled his shirt up again, just to fix things while Emi kissed him.]

Do you think we have much time?

Hmm... Let's not get too comfortable just yet.

[She still wanted to be ready to go. She also didn't think there would be much time to rest at all...]

While we've got a chance, we should.

[Arthur knew his instinct would kick in when the problems finally arrived. For the moment, he saw no reason to be on edge for too long.

They could save that for whatever came next.]

Well... I suppose you will see them coming, won't you?

[When they do come, she most certainly intends to be ready for them.]

Well--sorta. [He had never been able to properly describe it, but his Instinct did sometimes give him general warnings.

He wasn't entirely sure how far from the danger he had to be, though.

Arthur fixed his collar, walking with Emi back to the mansion.]

I'll know if something's wrong, but I won't really be able to tell what.

[Naturally Emilia leads the way there. There's things to do today, like getting her family to safety before the attack comes...]

Well... That's better than nothing.

Yeah. I'll make the best of it when the time comes. [He paused, looking aside to the windows of the mansion. Even then, he could see that a lot of things were cleared out, but not enough to make it seem as if they were simply moving.

It was clear that it was a move necessitated by evacuation.]

So, that'll be fine--if it's just us, here. I'll feel more at ease if it's just us.

So it's come to this... War. [The vampire went quiet, watching the mansion for a few moments.

All they're taking are the essentials, and even that is quite a bit.]

Yeah. Better to worry about the fighting than anything else. I don't have a problem with fighting, I've come to like it. This is different.

Mmm. [Arthur had no problem with Emilia liking battle--he had to admit that she looked graceful in the middle of it, almost like a ballerina with her spellwork. It was a stark contrast to his style, which was simple obliteration. If he could compare them, he would call himself a sledgehammer, while Emilia was a rapier.]

I wonder what our doppels are going to do, though. Do you think they'll help?

[If he didn't have a problem, then that's good. Makes things easier.]

I think mine might help... I don't think she'll have much choice.

[knights_king]

She didn't seem the type. [While his own doppel was too much the type. Arthur thought he only fought out of necessity, after all.

His doppel was just looking for a fight.]

Do you think she can do what you can?

She might go... Just to keep her boyfriend safe. I think she can do anything I can do, though.

[knights_king]

[He thought it was sweet. Realizing that she was like Emilia in that regard, it forced Arthur to smile.]

He's lucky to have her, then. Maybe she'll be able to do something about his attitude.

Hmn, maybe.

[She kind of doubted that. She was still a timid girl.]
