let's make a date
Who: Rakka and Raye.
What: A couple tries to go on an actual date for once
Where: Locke City
When: March 23rd
There were many things Rakka thought about nowadays. Certain things were more serious then others. Her developing Precure powers, Fougere and the Heart tree. The Doppelgangers, causing trouble for everyone else-- her run in with the Doppelganger calling herself Raye had left the Haibane pretty shaken, to say the least.
It had been a close call, but Rakka was just happy to be back with the Dians. She could have joined the others in Vegas or Europe, but someone had to remain here. Just in case. And she was fine with staying in Locke, even with the growing tension in the air.
Something was coming, something big. Rakka could tell. It wasn't a stretch to say that everything they'd been through must be leading up to something. Saretha's theory about the aliens and doppelgangers only cemented that idea in her mind. More and more recently, her thoughts drifted, thinking about what may happen in the near future. There could be a war, one day; a fierce enemy that she would fight against, alongside her friends....
Frankly these thoughts were... very stressful, exhausting as well. So she changed her train of thought to other things. Like, well, Raye. Her Raye.
And a thought began to form. She pursed her lips together, hands already around her phone.
She couldn't remember if Raye was busy at the moment; as much as the couple talked, Raye was someone that jumped from situation to situation. It was too late to reconsider, though, she was already dialing her girlfriend's number. The dial tone rung in her ear once, twice, then she spoke.
"... Hi, Raye. Are you there? It's me, Rakka..."

"... Hi, Raye. Are you there? It's me, Rakka..."

So far, so good. The movie was pretty alright so far but even if it was lousy, sitting here with Rakka would've made up for it. She settled in, and grinned to herself as senses honed from many hours watching many scary movies warned her of an approaching jump scare. Probably a zombie jumping out of somewhere, no big-
A few other people in the audience joined Rakka in reacting. There were a few jumps, a few more squeaks of surprise, and Raye....
Well, Raye Satterfield does not squeak, so there's that. But Rakka would probably end up jostled a bit as Raye jumped in her seat, arms and legs flying up in front of her half-defensively and half to cover her eyes while she shrieked....
... Like a girl.

But that wasn't going to happen. Rakka was freaked out by it, as much as she would have been by any jumpscare she'd watch on youtube behind a blanket. She was not expecting to be jostled in her seat, snacks sent flying through the air by Raye jumping and... shrieking?
Truthfully, that reaction was even scarier then the jumpscare. "R-raye! Are y-you okay? What's wrong?!"
Was it aliens?! Something she couldn't see attacking them?!

Until that stupid thing had shown up on the screen, with its horrible smile and crazed look in its eyes.
Snacks went up in the air and fell back down. Not that Raye noticed with her hands over her eyes. She heard Rakka's voice, heard the movie carry on and slowly chanced a peek over her fingers to see things back to normal. She gulped, slowly lowered her hands and answered.
"Nothing. I'm okay." She tried to keep her voice from shaking too much. With mixed results.

But enough of that silliness. Something more important had caught Rakka's attention, as well as her concern. She frowned, gazing at Raye. For now, the movie was temporarily forgotten.
"Raye... You screamed." Rakka whispered. The sound was still ringing in her mind, and Raye's attempt at consoling her did little to help. "... you sounded scared."

For now though, Raye looked back at Rakka for a moment before shifting her eyes away. She hadn't... screamed, really. Well, okay, maybe a little. Sort of. She frowned a little bit, straightening in her seat and clearing her throat in a quest to reclaim a little dignity.
The dark theater helped with that a little, since it was hard to make out the red spreading across her face.
"I-it's no big deal or anything. It was just... uh..." she whispered back, paused for a moment and then the next part came out in an even lower, quick mumble, "I'mkindascaredofclownsisall... alittle."

The dark was slightly negated by Rakka's halo, which cast a soft glow on the both of them. It wasn't much, just enough for her to notice the red on Raye's face and look a little closer as she adverted her gaze.
She would be the only other person in the theater to hear Raye's quick mumbling. And it took a moment before the words clicked in Rakka's mind. Then, her eyes widened. "Raye..."

"Oh, I'm sorry, Raye. I didn't know that was in the movie..." She paused, frowning a little. "...Or that you were afraid of clowns."

So, she blinked a bit when she felt Rakka lean over again and take her arm, looking back at her. Well, she never thought Rakka would laugh at her, of course, but she hadn't expected her to look so... sorry. It was at least enough to get a small laugh from her as she leaned forward to kiss her forehead.
"It's fine. I'm really okay." She shrugged. "Besides, it's not like I went around telling anyone about it."
no subject
And it wasn't as though it was really Rakka's fault... not that that stopped her from feeling at least a little bad about it. But then she heard Raye's subtle laughter, and felt her kiss her forehead. It got her to feel better, a bit.
"...Okay, if you say so." She trusted her. It didn't mean she would stop leaning against Raye, though. There had to be a good snuggling position again. "I just never imagined... clowns."
no subject
"Yeah." She shrugged a little, glancing away again. "It's just some crap from when I was a kid. It's kinda stupid now, I guess, after everything."
no subject
Some of it's not. But that's only natural in her opinion.

On screen there was a bloody zombie massacre going on, but it was starting to become more and more just so much background noise.
"Well... if any of that stuff shows up, just point it out and I'll take care of it. Even clowns, just for you." She paused, considering. "... Might have to do that last one with my eyes closed, but I'll do it anyway."
no subject
There was certainly a movie going on in the background, and the sounds of gunfire and zombie noises managed to reach Rakka's ears. Right now, it seemed irrelevant. Especially as Raye was so close now, just a few inches between them.
It was the perfect time for Rakka to lean in for another kiss. Hey, not like much was happening at the moment in the movie anyways.

"Clowns're all yours."
It looked like they had the same idea at the same time. Raye met her when she leaned in, pressing her lips to hers. Her free hand slid around to Rakka's back, giving Rakka's hand a gentle squeeze with the other.
Yeah, this was way more interesting than the movie right now.

For the moment, things were different. They were just two girls on a date. No end of the world scenarios, just kisses.
She slid an arm around Raye as well, being careful not to knock over anything. Slowly, Rakka broke the kiss just long enough to speak. "We should go on more dates after this. This is fun."
no subject
The movie had already faded into the background. As had any worries about wars or fighting. For now, it was just her and Rakka... and who the hell had time to worry about those things when there was a pretty girl to kiss right here?
"... Yeah." She didn't quite pull back when Rakka broke the kiss, hovering close enough to snatch another quick kiss before continuing. "... We definitely gotta do this more often."
no subject
Once again, she was in the comfort of Raye's arms, bringing her own arm around Raye's side. Here, she could relax. Surrounded by the sweet scent of junkfood and kisses.
Really, the movie was just a bonus.
She smiled into the next kiss, letting it linger for a brief moment until they were broken apart again. "Maybe... somewhere different, next time. We can order pizza and hang out at your place." Anywhere was fine, as long as Raye was there with her.
