{002} LOG: Sightseeing in Neuschwanstein, Slumming in Vegas [OPEN]

Who: Misa Amane and you OR Doppel!Misa and you! Specify in subject which you want.
What: Misa goes to the castle to investigate a sudden personality switch/doppelganger phenomena. Doppel!Misa, meanwhile, skulks about the castle grounds trying to avoid conversation and find something interesting to do. Doppel!Misa can also be found in Vegas.
Where: Neuschwanstein, Las Vegas
When: February 10th for Misa, February 10-15 for Doppel!Misa.

Option 1: Normie

Misa had never imagined that she might wind up in Germany of all places, barely a week after her long anticipated journey to the United States. But thanks to her introduction to teleportation technology (what) here she was, possibly having left her stomach back in the States. But despite the lingering queasiness and spinning in her head from having just undergone the impossible, Misa approached the castle at a brisk pace. There was too much excitement to do anything else. Echoes, Others, a teleporter, and now doppelgangers? Every day Misa half convinced herself that she was on the receiving end of the most elaborate prank in human history. But she wasn't, because this was all real, and she was going to be the one to solve these mysteries and bring them to the public! Starting with why a man who looked an awful lot like Lazarus had shown up on the network in Germany (and wearing a Hawaiian T-Shirt), when Misa knew him to be elsewhere (and of a different aesthetic). If the answers to this new phenomena were anywhere, they would be at this castle.

Option 2: Doppel

This place was exceedingly boring. Too many people talking and nothing to do; Misa's personal hell. Doing her best to avoid the various loud groups surrounding her, Misa hugged the wall and kept her head down, throwing off every don't talk to me vibe she knew. She was not drunk enough to deal with being in this place. One of those things needed to change.

"I speak German. We'll be fine," he reassures her, through cheerfully smiling lips that are absolutely turning blue. "And thanks for your worry but the cold isn't really a concern of mine. For some reason I think I'm suited to it."

His hue says otherwise.

"Brisk! Refreshing! It makes it much more satisfying to warm up," he adds.

Misa isn't sure if that's supposed to be innuendo and elects to ignore it if it is.

"I'm sure they sell jackets in the gift shop, you're going to get sick," she insists. A souvenir jacket would at least go with the tourist trainwreck aesthetic he has going. And cover up that hideous shirt.

"You think I should get a jacket? OK, if you'll help me pick it out," he agrees. "We could go into the dressing rooms together."

Misa rolls her eyes so hard she thinks they might get stuck that way.

"It's a jacket. You don't need to go in the dressing room to try it on," she says, oh-so patiently.

"I could try on other things, too..." he suggests coyly.

"Only if you want me to leave you there," she replies flatly, looking straight ahead. "Jacket and then tour, knock it off."

"Fine, fine," he says glibly, heading toward one of the gift shops. "There's no need to be so prickly and cold about it. You're attractive, aren't you used to hearing those kinds of things?"

"Just because I'm attractive doesn't mean I want to put up with constant harassment," she says coolly. It feels a bit conceited calling herself attractive, but with her current company Misa isn't too concerned with making a good impression. "Those lines can't actually work for you, so what's the point?"

"Why can't they work for me?" he asks, as they head toward the gift shop and enter the doorway. "I don't think I'm ugly, or awkward, or undeserving. I have as good a shot as anyone in the dating market, don't I?"

Misa looks him up and down, one eyebrow raised. It would be a little too mean to say that he is indeed all of those things. She turns her attention to looking for warm clothes.

"They can't work because they're terrible lines. Maybe someone could pull them off, but... no, no one could, they're really bad. And totally awkward."

"Oh..."

His face falls, but only briefly. He offers an overbright smile.

"What would work? If you teach me, I can absolutely learn."

"I'm not sure I should tell you," she muses, pulling out a black hoodie with a picture of the castle on the back in grey. Giving doppel-L the secrets of being charming seems dangerous. But she can at least school him in toning things down a bit. "For starters, don't be so obvious and gross. It makes you look desperate."

"You should tell me," he urges as she pulls out the hoodie, craning his neck to get a better look at it. "Because the truth is I am kind of desperate. I really want to get laid."

"Eww, that much is obvious!" Misa says, cringing and all but throwing the hoodie at him. "Rule number one, don't say things like that!"

"But I want it to be obvious," L replies, taking the hoodie and slipping his scrawny arms into the sleeves. It does, in fact, add significantly to the tourist trainwreck aesthetic he's cultivated. "That way there's no mistaking my intentions. Do you want to know what else I'd do to you?"

"No!" Misa screeches, covering her ears and drawing some looks from their fellow shoppers. "I'm going to leave you here if you say anything else!"

"Don't leave me here! Isn't it better than pretending to be nothing but your friend just so I can get in your pants?" he asks in a small voice, with a raised eyebrow.

He thinks he's making a really good point, actually.

"No!" she repeats loudly, glaring at him. After a moment she takes her hands away from her ears and puts them on her hips instead. "I don't want to hear that! Keep whatever perverted things you're thinking about to yourself. We barely even know each other."

"We know each other well enough to flirt," he reasons, pulling the jacket around his shoulders and zipping it up. "Can't a guy flirt? Also... how much is this?" he muses, looking for a price tag.

"You already know I'm not interested, so I don't see the point," Misa says grumpily, grabbing for the price tag hanging by his waist. "40 euros... that's what, 5000 yen? Maybe a bit more."

Fairly expensive, but she's not the one paying for it.

As far as she knows, she's not the one paying for it... but L's doppelganger clearly expects her to. He slips out of the jacket and takes it to the counter, glancing expectantly at her when the cashier starts ringing it up.

"So nice of you to buy it for me," he comments pleasantly.

"Wha- Who said-"

It's a while before Misa can get past spluttering indignantly to form actual sentences.

"I'm not buying it!! I don't even have that much on me!"

"You said!" he insists, face falling, suddenly dismayed. "What else could you have meant when you suggested we go look for a jacket? I thought you were offering?"

He shivers pathetically.

"Well... I guess I got warmer for a little while, anyway..."

"I meant you should buy a jacket for yourself! Don't you have any money?!"

Misa isn't exactly one to talk, but she just invested everything in moving to the other side of the world; she is allowed to be broke.

He shakes his head slowly as he re-hangs the jacket, shivering for added effect.

"I figured you knew since I wasn't already wearing a jacket..."
