{002} LOG: Sightseeing in Neuschwanstein, Slumming in Vegas [OPEN]

What: Misa goes to the castle to investigate a sudden personality switch/doppelganger phenomena. Doppel!Misa, meanwhile, skulks about the castle grounds trying to avoid conversation and find something interesting to do. Doppel!Misa can also be found in Vegas.

When: February 10th for Misa, February 10-15 for Doppel!Misa.

Option 1: Normie

Misa had never imagined that she might wind up in Germany of all places, barely a week after her long anticipated journey to the United States. But thanks to her introduction to teleportation technology (what) here she was, possibly having left her stomach back in the States. But despite the lingering queasiness and spinning in her head from having just undergone the impossible, Misa approached the castle at a brisk pace. There was too much excitement to do anything else. Echoes, Others, a teleporter, and now doppelgangers? Every day Misa half convinced herself that she was on the receiving end of the most elaborate prank in human history. But she wasn't, because this was all real, and she was going to be the one to solve these mysteries and bring them to the public! Starting with why a man who looked an awful lot like Lazarus had shown up on the network in Germany (and wearing a Hawaiian T-Shirt), when Misa knew him to be elsewhere (and of a different aesthetic). If the answers to this new phenomena were anywhere, they would be at this castle.

Option 2: Doppel

This place was exceedingly boring. Too many people talking and nothing to do; Misa's personal hell. Doing her best to avoid the various loud groups surrounding her, Misa hugged the wall and kept her head down, throwing off every don't talk to me vibe she knew. She was not drunk enough to deal with being in this place. One of those things needed to change.

There's a long pause from the doppelganger.

"...what is the answer you want to hear?" he asks slowly.

[lovesickkiller]

This day is going to end in a German prison and it is going to be all his fault. Misa is horrified in more ways than she can even begin to explain, but her expression makes a valiant effort to convey them.

"Just— pay, drop them somewhere, and we're leaving!"

[dead_black_eyes]

"Drop them somewhere? I worked hard to take this money. I'm not just going to throw it away."

"You did not! Stealing isn't working hard!" Misa hisses under her breath. "Those are people's wallets, they need them, you probably just stole their driver's license and all sorts of important things! Just... take the cash and leave them!"

[dead_black_eyes]

"It's working so hard," he insists in a whining voice. "I need money too, and if they can afford to vacation in Germany they can afford it."

But he is following her instructions, taking the cash out and just dropping the wallets at his feet, making eye contact with her and blinking dopily several times.

[lovesickkiller]

"You don't know that, this could be their one big trip they've been saving up for," Misa shoots back, set on playing devil's advocate as long as the doppelganger is set on being terrible. But at least he's listening to her. "No more stealing. Now let's go."

[dead_black_eyes]

He shuffles toward the counter after the thorough scolding, purchasing the jacket with some of those crumpled euros.

"There... done. Are you happy?"

"So happy. I'm have a great time!"

Do you hear the sarcasm? Because it is overt and obnoxious.

Whether he does hear it or not, he doesn't seem to respond.

"Now then. Shall we head to the castle, or are you still having fun here?"

[lovesickkiller]

"The castle," she answers, already sounding drained. But she didn't come all this way to not see the castle. "Please just... try not to be terrible."

Misa can't be blamed for her apparent exhaustion; Lazarus' doppelganger absolutely has that effect on people, and what's worse, he seems to revel in it.

"Well, I can try," he agrees cheerfully, and anyone familiar with weasel-words and tactics can recognize it's not committing to very much at all.

She'll take it. Though it's too much to hope for, she quietly prays that the walk there will be quiet.

Despite her company, Misa is easily enthralled as soon as they're close enough for her to see a glimpse of inside. "Wow..."

"Pretty great, isn't it?" The doppelganger asks, puffing out his chest proudly as though he's the Mad King himself. "Fabulous place to live. And sleep." Cheeky grin and sidelong glance. Indeed.

"And how would you know?" Misa asks, missing his glance; she's too busy staring ahead.

[dead_black_eyes]

"Well, not that it's anything really impressive, but I've slept there," he boasts. "Today my goal is to try to fuck someone in Ludwig's bed."

[lovesickkiller]

"Eewwwww."

That is a terrible enough sentence to get her to look away from the castle and give him a disgusted look. "How are you not banned yet?"

[dead_black_eyes]

"Well, I can't explain it. Haven't you ever been somewhere and had the feeling that you just belonged?" he asks playfully. "That's how I feel about the castle, and maybe about Ludwig himself. I could be crazy like that."

[lovesickkiller]

"I'm sure you are," Misa mutters under her breath. "Just remember, I'm not doing anything gross with you. I want to see the castle, that's it."

[dead_black_eyes]

"Gross? What about natural?" he asks. "We could just do what comes naturally and have quite a lot of fun, couldn't we? I don't mind doing all the work.I don't mind at all."

[lovesickkiller]

"What comes naturally to me is this," Misa says, giving his shoulder a rough shove.

[dead_black_eyes]

"Ow!" He staggers, rubbing at his shoulder and looking vaguely wounded before offering a quick grin.

"If you like it rough, I'm totally into that."

[lovesickkiller]

"Is this some sort of mental illness? Can you not stop?" Misa asks, halfway serious.

"I can go all night if that's what you're asking."

[lovesickkiller]

"You know that's not what I'm asking!!"

[dead_black_eyes]

"You can ask for whatever you want you know. I'll try anything twice."
