4th Howl [Private Network Messages]

[Lyall enters four numbers into the Word document he's been using as his compilation of network communications, one at a time. Banagher Links, Ryuo Bakura, Anthony Janvier, and Kenji Kobayashi, even though the latter of those hasn't actually communicated with Lyall over the network. Each of his high school students receives the same message:]

This is Mr. Lyall. We need to talk. Please come by my classroom today (Saturday) at sunset if you can. Reply to this to let me know if you can get here, need a ride, or have a prior commitment.


[He sends out anther one for former students, namely Kallie Raydan, Robb Stark, and Hajime Aikawa:]

Are you all right? Have you run into any trouble since last night? I'm having a meeting for current students today at the school, if you want to come and talk about safety tips and plans.

I think it might be important that we do. I visited the police station this morning and found some decidedly strange things.

What the hell were you doing there after that? You could have been killed!

I went as a concerned teacher with a lead on arson at Paul Ben's house. No one suspected me of anything but being slightly pushy and over-wrought about my favorite student. It was important that I visit. I can explain in person.

[Voice/Phone]

No, no trouble...I think I had one of those visions like you were talking about, but I'm fine. Have you noticed anything else?

[He's thinking about it and generally trying to sound tougher than he actually feels at that point. Meeting other people involved in this mess doesn't sound like a bad idea. It'll let him know what he's dealing with.]

Yeah, I'll try to come. What time?

I may have noticed something else, my own first of these "visions". I'm not sure what it was.

[Not that he knows what he could possibly bring that would help.]

Mine was kind of weird...mostly unpleasant. Not at all useful.

Mine didn't seem particularly useful, either. I was researching a river in London in an attempt to find a missing person, and speaking with some older woman who was apparently a queen? I don't have any idea what that was about.

But anyway, I can't think of anything for you to bring except maybe any conversations you've had with people about those three... involved individuals. I can use whatever details on them I can get, to figure out how best to investigate.

[ In such a short time, Kallie's gotten pretty good at choosing when to risk voice and when to stick to text... when she needs to hide what her voice would reveal. Her wariness remains, so heightened right now she very nearly avoids offering a "don't even think about it" instead.

She'll give him the opportunity to explain first, but it's a narrow one indeed. ]

Between what happened last night and what I found this morning, I think it is warranted. You don't have to come if you don't want to, but I could probably use the help, if you're willing.

I want to do something about this, and we have to start somewhere.

[Lyall can guess. And he's not best pleased, nor is he unconcerned about the dangers of getting drop-dead drunk when everyone might be in danger.]

You don't sound fine, Robb. Where are you?
