Okay so... things are bad in Locke, right? I haven't been back in a while. People are talking about moving, and I don't want to move. It's like a second home to me, you know?

[He'd spent a lot of time feeling like he wanted to get away from Locke when his sea-longing first kicked in, but now...]

My family has had property there since I was a kid... I mean I get that the property won't go anywhere, but I'm kind of attached to it.

[Liam takes a deep breath then sits back from the camera. When he speaks again, he's less somber.]

Okay, distraction time. So, a lot of people I know have names for their past lives or old selves or whatever - is that pretty common? I figured I should get one too, if that's the case. Don't want to be left out. Any ideas?

Nah. Pointy ears are kinda like earrings? You notice it but it doesn't stick out once you get used to them. Burning your dinner is also pretty commonplace that we probably wouldn't have remembered after a week. Now your thing with the salad? It sticks out in the mind.

...So I'm going to ask Ariel instead.

Do you always try to muscle in on their alone time?

What? Dude who else is going to teach me how to bow...things? Ariel is my friend, I'm allowed to ask!

There's the internet? Ariel and Killian's not the only...'bow people' around. There must be a club who teaches. My university had a Kyudo club for example.

Besides, if this is how you try to get into their alone time all the time, it's no wonder Killian has that reaction.

Yeah? Well name another 'bow person' that's numbered. And I don't 'muscle in' on their alone time.

[That was said with a bit of disgust.]

I'm not asking to go practice when they're doing their thing! Can't I ask Ariel to show me bow stuff when she's not doing that? Isn't she allowed to have friends, man?

My point is that archery isn't a 'Numbered only' thing. It's a skill...a sport actually that people practice. And other than the ears you can still pass as human, or I'm sure there's non-numbered archery people that won't mind the ears or the Numbered stuff to share some tips.

[Fil's just rolling his eyes now.] Who knows, you might actually get some friends who AREN'T Ariel.

Ooookay... and if I ask somebody who isn't numbered for some archery tips, what's going to happen when they see the pointy ears and all that? Besides, for all we know, using the damn bow will give me some kind of pulse that's hard to explain.

Long story short, who are you to tell me who I can and can't hang out with? If Killian has a problem with me asking Ariel to show me how to do bow things, he can say so himself.
