Okay so... things are bad in Locke, right? I haven't been back in a while. People are talking about moving, and I don't want to move. It's like a second home to me, you know?

[He'd spent a lot of time feeling like he wanted to get away from Locke when his sea-longing first kicked in, but now...]

My family has had property there since I was a kid... I mean I get that the property won't go anywhere, but I'm kind of attached to it.

[Liam takes a deep breath then sits back from the camera. When he speaks again, he's less somber.]

Okay, distraction time. So, a lot of people I know have names for their past lives or old selves or whatever - is that pretty common? I figured I should get one too, if that's the case. Don't want to be left out. Any ideas?

[Wait.]

...Oh, though, speaking of santa, last christmas I got something. [She scrambles off and comes back after a little bit of rummaging with a red and white caplet.] I don't really know how this fits in, though. Not a santa elf, though? So more like the huldra. Or - I think celtic legends had proper elves in too? Maybe you need to see if any of them had specific names.

Ingrid doesn't sound that old to me! You know who Freyja was, right? [Even Americans have heard of her, right?]

Um, Freyja's like, related to Odin or something. Somewhere in that viking religion, right? I don't know much more than that, sorry.

Well, my family is part Irish... What's a huldra though?

[Good enough, and Åsa smiles and nods.] I studied it a bit at school and I looked into it more since because of, well, everything. [With a vague wave of her hand meant to imply the whole lesbian viking thing.] She's the goddess of love and beauty for a start. Amongst other things, but sometimes I feel like I can manage war. [With a laugh.}

Huldra are, well, Huldrekarl would be a better description for you, or skogsrå. They're forest spirits, who are really pretty, but they normally have an animal tail or a hollow back. If you have sex with them and you're good then they'll bless you, but if you're not so good they'll cause you mischief. [Aaaand cute blushing because wow she's totally an adult who can talk about adult things.]

[Liam splutters a bit and goes slightly pink at the description.]

Uh... okay then. Well, I don't have a tail so... wow, I hope I don't pulse one now.

[He clears his throat awkwardly.]

And I don't think I'm going to be uh... causing any mischief any time soon. So not my type of Elves.

No, now I think about it it doesn't sound right at all. Or, I mean, you'd know by now if that was what you were, right? I just meant, more like that then the little folk! Something more serious and, um. Dangerous, I suppose.

Little folk? Sounds like Dwarves. Totally not one of those.

[Pause.]

You think I'm dangerous? That's kind of badass...

[He tries to strike a lame "badass" pose.]

[She's not sure about his 'badass' pose, and stifles a giggle.] We know you're dangerous!

[Liam frowns and makes an indecisive noise.]

Well... for a while I really hated them. I think it's some sort of Elf thing. Then I remembered this bit about being friends with one, so I guess if old-me could like one, they can't be all that bad?

[At the other comment, Liam looks to the side slightly, feeling a bit self conscious.]

Well, not that dangerous. I like to think I'm a nice guy.

[He was, wasn't he?]

Elves and dwarves are very different, so it's understandable! It sounds like your past self over came that, though, so that's good. I don't think they'll be too bad!

Eh, it's kind of like fighting against an instinct or something, but I'll get there I guess.

I'm sure you will! You've managed the first part already. And the ones we have on the network are nice!

Well, of course they're numbered. People don't just shrink out of the blue. And I guess they're nice if you don't piss them off...

[Åsa sighs, and then looks at Liam.] If you apologise, they might be nice again?

I did, and I think we're all on good terms now. Or, you know, civil at least.
