[Well, somebody has a nice tan... well, maybe a bit of a burn too, but hey that's the price to pay for a nice vacation. ]

So I got this hat. Do you think it hides my ears okay, guys? I'm hoping it will last until I can start with winter hats.

Also I've been out of town for a bit, so I'm sort of out of the loop... what I miss?

Ah, no. Mother's a concert pianist. She moves in the classical world of classics and evening dress and would make horrible faces at anyone that thinks she would ever play rock unless it's been totally wiped clean of any trace of the rock part of it.

Yeah, that's a hell of a difference, but they, still music I guess, right? You guys get along?

I started playing instruments when I was three, but yah, we get along. Sometimes she even drags me to charity concerts to play with her. It's a hit with some people to hear dueling pianos.

Dueling pianos? I've heard of dueling banjos... do you use the same tune?

Nah. First pianist picks a hard piece and the one following picks another hard piece that's in the last key as the first player. I usually play jazz and blues and stuff like that and mom plays classics like Chopin and Bach, so it can get pretty interesting, especially when we switch and she plays the Tin Can Alley stuff and I go off on a Beethoven tangent.

It's pretty fun. [just raises his eyebrows, grinning a little.] You never went to see one, now have you?

Er, no... I've seen a lot of stuff on Broadway, though?
