Holy crap, this month has been busy. I don't even have any poorly tasting mortician jokes to throw at you, numbers club. That's how you know it's been rough.

I guess we're not so secret anymore? I don't even know. I'm trying to keep my status as a member of this thing secret since I still work for the city and all. Not like it's been easy with all these FBI agents swarming around. I'm lucky nobody's tried running me through one of those full-body scans, huh? That'd be a huge red light.

Speaking of huge lights, if you're new to the numbers club, hi! My name's Brooke. I'm a mortician. Most of my work is on the up-and-up, but if past you was undead or anything like that, I can definitely try to help. Things keep going this way and it might be all I do. Anyway, look, sorry I've been gone for so long and sorry I couldn't help much in that big fight. I'm just... glad that I didn't recognize any of the decedents.

Could be just as common now and I managed to miss the influx.

Also a possibility! They tend not to exactly come out of the woodwork, with that whole stigma against death and everything.

It's Lucca. And I... haven't gotten any powers yet. At least none that I know of, I mean- starting to wonder if i'll even get any and I can't say that I'd actually mind if I didn't.

Powers aren't all they're cracked up to be, honestly. If you don't get any, that's not totally a bad thing. Better none than ones you can't control.

I really like your name, by the way. I think I played a game a while back with a character named that. She was pretty cool.

I can move the earth. I want to say it would've helped in that whole fight thing, but I don't think that I would've been able to do anything against it. I mean, I tried once before against what I think was the same substance and I couldn't do anything.

Nah- you don't have to apologize. I like hearing about other people's lives around here, makes it a little easier to know what to expect. If I can even expect anything at all.
