So, uh, anyone wanna bet on Vegas being the next Town of Crazy Numbered Hijinks? I mean, that light looked pretty similar to the stuff that shot up from here a few months ago. Does this mean it's less of a "Locke City" thing and more of a--what the hell.

[More rustling and then he flips the feed to video to show off a sword]

I am getting really tired of finding stuff in places when it wasn't there a week ago. Pulses I can handle. Finding swords in my suitcase or boots under the bed or bows in the closet, not so much. Next it'll be axes in the freezer or something, I swear to God.

I don't even want to know the detail of how you found that out. [Give him an hour or two and he might remember that Killian's underage here, but it's not clicked yet.]

Doesn't surprise me, though, on either parts. They're always represented as... study. Elves, on the other hand. Wouldn't surprise me if it only takes a wiff to knock them out. [He grins.] Maybe this theory needs to be tested on Eliot and Teagan.

Teagan for sure. Doc Percell's...well, a doctor. They've gotta be made of sturdier stuff than shut in jackasses.

You'd be surprised. Both of them can hold their liquor. From what we've seen so far, though, elves are more sensitive, at least in their senses, so it wouldn't surprise me if it affects them more.

[His smile sort of falters at "celebrated" but. Well.]

Pretty much. Dunno if he can, though. [Still amused yep] If it does, I want pics.

[Gabriel's good at reading faces, and a flicker of concern passes his own face, but as Killian said nothing, he keeps quiet too.] I'll be willing to trade for any embarrassing ones you have of Hjalti. [Partly for his own amusement, but mostly for Thorir because Gabriel is a ~~n awful person~~ good friend.]

First I'll have to find a way to pry Teagan out of his cabin, though. [As much as he loves his friend, the man can be determined when it comes to avoiding social occasions.]

That would be over reacting a little, don't you think?

Now that's just down right cruel and unusual. [But there's laughter in his voice and eyes. He likes the way Killian's thinking.]

He'd kill us for being so wasteful anyway. [Sorry, Killian, you're implicated in this now.]

Dude, I'm pretty sure he wants to kill me anyway. He hates me for some reason and I can't say I care all that much about him either.

He can be a bit prickly, but he does mean well, most of the time. I'm sure he doesn't hate you. [Mostly sure, anyway. He can never be 100% sure with Teagan, but Gabriel does believe in him. For some reason.]

[The look Killian is giving Gabriel speaks volumes on how little he believes that]

There's cacti less prickly than he is.

You could put cacti, roses, hedgehogs and angry cats in a room and it'd still be a more pleasurable place to stay than with him when he's in a bad mood.

But that doesn't mean that he isn't a good man. [Or elf. Whatever.]

You can be a decent person and still be a massive dick. See: several people I'm related to. Several people on the Network. Politicians.

Business men tend to be one step down from politicians, maybe that's where he gets it from.

Although I'm not sure that I believe that the majority of politicians can be described as good people.

Well, at some point they had to be. And then power went to their heads and yeah.

I can think of a few examples of politicians who were arseholes before they managed to get any power.

But that's by the by. Teagan's really not that bad when you get to know him. You probably both started off on the wrong foot.

He threatened to sue me or call the cops or something for accidentally bumping him because I might have knocked his phone out of his hand. In a crowded mall. With preteens everywhere.

That would be a bad start then. [Gabriel sighs.] I take it his phone didn't break?

It never left his hand. Even if it had, though, there were little kids everywhere.

That probably didn't help. When you're already on your guard it's hard to keep your temper in check.

Not that it's your fault either! Like I said, I think you both started on the wrong foot. But, well, it's easy to do that with Teagan unfortunately. [If it wasn't for the circumstances he wouldn't push it so much, but unfortunately there's a high chance they'll need to interact.]

Gabriel? He's a dick. Just admit he's a dick. He can be your friend, but he still a dick and you're a saint for trying.

I wouldn't say that! But maybe we can agree to disagree.

[Shaking his head, Gabriel chuckles.] Wouldn't that be a twist in the tale. I'm sure there must be at least one saint on the network already or just waiting for that first echo.

I'm sure Thorir would be quick to disillusion you, though.
