[ he really should be asleep by now, and it's obvious he needs it by how exhausted he sounds, but he has to get rid of this particular urge first. it's been bothering him since the adrenaline (and chaos) finally died down. ]

[ ivan would really rather not do this, if he's being honest, but keith had been brave enough to share his issues, so he figures it's only fair. he doesn't know if it'll even work but—the more he thought about it, the more scared he got. it's now or never, it feels like.

the blue glow is new, he's never noticed that before, but it's too late to stop it by the time he realizes it's there. in the next second, it isn't ivan right in front of keith anymore but an exact replica of john. this one looks a bit more ashamed than the original, which just looks confused as hell (did keith get a new dog? hello? barks?).

ivan doesn't say anything though. he only waits. ]

[ The fact that he, for some reason, felt a pulse due to that blue glow and Ivan's transformation isn't something that Keith gives much thought to currently, though he may later. Instead, he finds himself staring at the space where Ivan used to be, and what's currently in it. For a moment he seems completely confused at what's happened, but then his face splits into a wide grin. ]

Shapeshifting--? That's incredible! Look at how adorable you are!

[disenchant]

[ that only seems to increase ivan's embarrassment levels. he lifts up a paw to hide half his face which he's sure to be flushing red thanks to keith. adorable? what is he even talking about? ]

... Please stop saying such things. This is because of John.

[ john is the adorable one here. ]

But it is true! You really are very cute, Ivan.

[ Does Keith realise the connotations of what he's saying?

Nope. Not even once. ]

You're still just saying that because of John.

[ all too quickly, the blue glow pops up once more—there's a brief flicker of the kanji for shinobu, then it's gone—and ivan's back, still hiding his face with his hand. ]

N-no, no, that isn't why I'm saying it at all!

[ Keith frowns, and shakes his head. ]

It is all you, Ivan!

[ ivan tries to be brave and peeks at keith through his fingers. sometimes he can't handle this guy... ]

Do you even know what you're saying?

[labrador]

Of course I do! Why wouldn't I know?

[ Keith. Stop. ]

Because you're calling me cute!

[ seriously, stop. ]

Oh... would you prefer it if I did not compliment you, then?

Then could there not be some truth to it, considering how many people are saying it?

Of course you'd put it that way, but... I don't know. I sometimes shift into something without meaning to—what if I get in trouble because of this?

Perhaps it is simply something which you must learn to control. I do not see why it will be completely unmanageable to get the hang of it.

[ his power, and keith's. they both need to learn how to control them, right? ]

You would like to train with me? I would enjoy that very much, Ivan! And I am happy to do what I can to help. I'm not entirely sure what I can do to help, but I will try my best.

[ He seems very excited about that prospect. ]

[ Keith, of course, took it completely seriously. ]

[ Suddenly his tone has gone awfully quiet. The reminder of what he'd saved Ivan from still persisted to this day. ]

That doesn't matter. [ it's been a long time since something like his past encounters has ever happened, but still. ] I want to help somehow.
