31st Howl [Audio | Backdated to morning, February 13]
[There's a somewhat frustrated, exhausted, and pained-sounding biology teacher on the network Thursday morning, before school starts.]
I am officially calling in sick until Monday. At least Monday. I went wolf last night. It wasn't the full moon, that's tomorrow night. I don't know what happened. If I ran into you... I am so sorry. I don't know what changed, but something did.
So. I'll be needing my clavigers tonight. It might happen again. If you aren't too busy. Friday is taken care of, but tonight... I don't think I can manage it.
Also, if someone could perhaps send one of the doctors over here... I believe I got shot at some point? Not that I blame whoever did it. But it is a little inconvenient, and my bandaging isn't as good as it could be.
[Apparently he's got a bit of understatement going on there. Inconvenient, indeed. At that point, he signs off, at least until people start contacting him back.]

-- Are you - going to - [Smothers a cough, voice comes out a bit less sticking.] -- Is it going to be fine - probably... - Mr. Lyall - ...?
[Audio]
I think so. I would prefer to get a doctor's opinion, but I'm sure I'll be all right.

[Audio because hands are ow]
[He pauses, winces, and adds:]
I... think I may have chased you. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it.

Voice.
[Because wow yeah that is. Not a good development.]
Do you have any idea what could have changed?
[Audio]
[Oh, and he'd said something else, too.]
And thank you.

I can also bring you something to eat; I know you don't feel like cooking after the change.
[Sometimes, he feels like this is the one thing he can do...]
[Voice]
[Between the pain and exhaustion, and the feeling ill over what happened and what could have happened, he just can't stand the idea of food right now.]
But if you'd like to bring dinner by tonight, I certainly won't say no.

That might have been me. Sorry.
I know you don't know me, but do you need any more help? [she does feel kind of bad about shooting you, after all.
even though you totally deserved it][Audio, because his fingers still hurt]
At least you slowed me down. I'll be all right. I have a couple doctors already volunteering to help, and a good excuse to not come in to work until Monday.

[Oh look, Mrs Curry's now sporting a pair of fangs. It definitely explains the lithping.]
[Audio]
[He's a bit transfixed by those fangs. What in the hell.... He does shake himself out of it, though.]
Did I attack you? I am so very sorry. I simply don't have any kind of a mind when I do that wolf thing....

Voice, now that I got my echoes in order
That was YOU?!
[To differentiate a little more from the comment thread above, he adds (because it's obvious, how many wild wolves are running around this city anyway?)]
I got an echo from that you s--
[-'son of a bitch' might actually be tasteless, and rather than start into offending some other numbers club person through unfortunate word choice again, he just descends into incoherent hissing and sputtering noises.]
[Audio]
I'm sorry. I didn't mean it-- I don't have any of my usual... self, when I do that. Go wolf, I mean. Are you all right?
[And who is this, exactly...? Not someone he knows, either.]

[phonecall, dated to the 17th]
and she'd gone home for the weekend. left thursday morning, came back monday, still feeling... all right. normal. her ears and her nose felt plugged and she wondered if she'd caught a cold while she was out of town, and realized she wouldn't have the cold anymore if that were the case. satisfied the blood had lasted that long, feeling rested and a little more optimistic for having had her 'vacation', she took a (very) brief look through the community and had to scroll back for lyall's post.
she'd told him he'd been away, but the idea that had been one less problem didn't even cross her mind as she grabbed her phone and spent a minute too long searching for his number.
once he picked up she started in as soon as he said hello. ]
You shifted before the full moon??
no subject
[That's a little bit wry.]
I did. The two nights before it, and then I left down for the weekend. Haven't changed since I returned, thankfully.

[Audio, later in the day]
[Okay, so really it was a couple kids talking about having a sub for his class. But she's had other things on her mind lately, okay?]
I hear there's a clinic that helps the Numbers Club out by the Dead District... are you going to be okay? Anything I can do, or bring you from your classroom? This doesn't sound good.
[She sounds genuinely concerned, despite not knowing Lyall well. Some of this echo stuff is seriously distressing.]
[Audio, late afternoon]
[Which, by the way, is where he's been all this time. Sleeping like the dead, he was that tired.]
I've already been patched up, though I did have to insist on no stitches, not when I'm fully expecting it to happen again tonight. I can't even imagine dealing with pulling them out, somehow, in the middle of all that.

He limps tiredly over, drops to the couch beside the message with a thump, and picks it up to read. It takes him three tries. By then, it's likely Stella is awake.
The living room is a bit of a mess, too, but he's ignoring that-- also ignoring the broken window he used to get out through, the night before.]
