[ Ah yes, come one, come all! As per the plotting, let's just say Ryan put out a message that went something like this:

Hey everyone! I was wondering how many of us are stuck here in Locke for the holidays. I'm used to parties and celebrating with friends, so I figured, why not do that anyway! It'll be a Network-only thing, so don't be shy. And if you wanna help, just let me know!

And thus your character finds themselves here, a part of christmas cheer and echoes, surrounded by free food and tinsel and even Mistletoe... The Christmas party! And by Christmas I mean Santa and reindeer and all that lame stuff. ]

[ This dude is leaning against a wall somewhere far away from the mistletoe with some manner of alcoholic drink. It's definitely something bitter though, because you are what you eat. Are you the type to come talk to the quiet, scowling weirdos at parties, either out of genuine curiosity or just pity? If so, you may have just hit the jackpot.

[Unfortunately, Åsa is just the type to come and bother him. Because everyone needs to have fun and a bright smile is just the thing to encourage more, right? She also has a plate and a glass of something and is playing the normal party adventure of how do I drink this and eat this I need a third hand. It's not a game she's playing immediately, though, and for now she'll just give him a friendly smile.]

[ It's okay, no one needs to be bothered more than this guy. Especially by people who are possibly not weirdos from giantland. Still, he's hardly a people person, and he looks a little wary when people look like they might approach him. Shit, here comes one now. His life is so hard. ]

Not really. Just don't want to catch a cold.

[ He side-eyes the rest of the group a bit while taking a sip of his drink. ]

I'm sure one of them has a cold.

[Åsa laughs, a genuine laugh, friendly and open.] Probably, but as long as you avoid the mistletoe I'm sure you'll be fine. [Well, as long as people have been washing their hands before handling the food. Which she's sure they have! No need to mistrust a bunch of almost-strangers, right?]

[ Wrong. This guy doesn't trust anyone with matters of cleanliness. But let's not go farther down that long, neurotic road just yet. Maybe that way he can hold a conversation with a stranger for longer than 45 seconds.

[Laughing again, she shakes her head.] As long as no one's got their eye on you I'm sure you'll be fine. Did you have a flu jab this year? [Teasing slightly. She's not seen anyone who looks like they're coming down with anything yet and she trusts that people would be courteous enough to stay at home anyway (although maybe she's wrong in that).]

Did you come alone?

[ Oh there best not be anyone with their eye on him. That person might end up getting kneed in the junk. Worth it? He kinda doubts it. ]

No. Haven't had the flu in a long, long time.

[ The near-constant, overzealous disinfecting of his entire residence might have something to do with that. ]

Technically yes, but I know a lot of these people. We've got some unfortunate shit in common. Echo stuff.

[ He takes a moment to count them all in his head. Let's see, there's the nerdy kid, the really nerdy kid, the gay fireman and his boyfriend fiance, the frowny girl that's shorter than him (holy shit etc.), Alan, that kid with the massive 'fro and his friend who can't spell, the tiny blonde girl... ]

Nine? Maybe ten, I don't know. They're mostly kids.

That's loads! And you all remember the same things? [It makes her wonder and she looks back over to where Siiri is, thinking.]

Have you remembered a lot?

No and no. There's some overlap, but in my case it's only enough to confirm we were in the same situation. Most of them know a hell of a lot more than I do.

Have they been remembering things for a lot longer, or just had more memories than you?

Both. It's only been a few months since this started for me, and most of what I know is from someone else telling me rather than echoing it back. Not sure why these kids get so many more echoes than I do.

[ Spoilers: it's because he doesn't get out much. What a loser. ]

I think maybe talking about things amongst themselves might have triggered things for them? I accidentally did that for my friend. Maybe if you spend more time with them you'll find yourself remembering more!

I don't know. I think I've been spending too much time with them. Most of them are like fifteen years old. One of them thinks I'm his dad.

[ He's conveniently leaving out that he was the one who planted that seed. Meaning the idea in Connie's abnormally small brain, not... well, never mind. ]

...You're not, are you? [Because one would be easier to trick someone into thinking than the other, but there's also the possibility that it's true. Especially if they are all younger!]

Doesn't it make you wonder why everyone else is younger?

But they're not all younger. There are a few closer to my age.

Get ID'd a lot? [There's sympathy in her voice.] I forgot that the drinking age was so high when I first got here. I only just stopped getting ID'd at home and now I have to remember to carry my ID around all the time again! [Because she sure as hell isn't going without her vodka.}
