So this is really weird and I shouldn't believe it but the paper thing works so it's true I guess. Have any of you ever run into someone, had a vivid memory of them pointing a gun at you, and then gotten assigned to the same group project with them?

Should this worry me?

Like I've always known.

Almost feels the same way, for me. Like we've talked before. Or something. I can't really explain. It kind of creeps me out, to be honest.

Well supposedly they're memories from past lives so I guess we knew each other.

It was odd, it was like you wanted to be shot. Just the look, and the things you said. As if your life didn't matter at that point. It was... unnerving.

Yeah... I wasn't really planning on mentioning that part. There was a lot of despair on my end. And guilt. But I don't know what for.

Like you said, if we're going to figure out why we're suddenly getting these visions, then we have to be plain with each other. Do you remember anything else?

Really? You, fight?

Yeah I've been doing Judo since I was three. I got to the intercollegiate semi-finals last year and then the Thrasher dislocated my shoulder and knocked me out of the competition.

[She blinks a few times, looking impressed.]

That's... I was not expecting that.

Guess I don't seem the type. I try to keep in good shape, Judo's one of the ways I do it. I go running a lot, that's what I was doing when we met in the woods.

[Where is he hiding all of this, really. He didn't exactly look scrawny, but...]

So just to get this straight, Judo's the one with all of the throwing and grappling, right?

Yeah. I've done some other styles too but that's the one I've stuck with the most.

Huh. Yeah, I would have never expected that. You really don't look the type.

And here I thought the giant martial artist ponytail gave me away.

That wasn't the first thing I thought of when I saw it, honestly. Although really, I don't know what my first thought was, so there is that.

I guess you could say I'm not a typical art student.

Apparently not. I guess that's what I get for trying to judge a book by its cover. Although that makes me seem pretty boring in comparison. I guess, considering the circumstances, someone has to be.

I'm not that exciting myself, really, I'm sure you're plenty interesting. Med students save lives after all. Us artists try not to end up at McDonald's.

I can only hope that I can do something useful, after all of the student loan debt I'll be accumulating over the next six or seven years.

[She shrugs.]

Sorry, unfortunately what you see is what you get. No special skills. Although I've been called the fastest needle in the east.
