So this is really weird and I shouldn't believe it but the paper thing works so it's true I guess. Have any of you ever run into someone, had a vivid memory of them pointing a gun at you, and then gotten assigned to the same group project with them?

Should this worry me?

"Not the right kind of person," in the art department? What kind of answer is that? It sounds like they don't want to give you the time of day.

Something like that. They're more interested in people like Sara. Say I lack vision and whatnot.

If that's what they consider vision, I'm not sure you'd want it.

It's a point of pride that my paintings look like what they're supposed to look like.

What do you tend to paint?

I do a lot of landscapes and portraits.

[Of course he wouldn't go for abstracts.]

Yeah I've got a few, hang on I think there's one up on the website.

It's titled "Morning Sunrise Over the Horizon". I used the woods near campus as a reference.

Making me look bad. This is good, Daniel. Really good. Those people in the art department are blind as far as I'm concerned.

I'm used to it by now. I always get the same comments, technically proficient but lack vision and creative soul.

I'm not much of an art critic, but I like it. That's what should matter, if the people that come to see your art like it.

[Still, it seemed a bit... sad somehow.]

Hopefully that'll work better for me when I go into the professional world.
