[Well, that was...informative. This message only decipherable thanks to autocorrect. Hooray for technology.]

[yeah, it's even hard for him to concentrate enough to remember how to send that privately. Ah, well.]

[ Today's Skype connection features the interior of a modest living room, where Haro sits in a rather handsome pile of blankets on the couch, apparently watching television. Futuristic technology, and all he's done is acquire his mother's taste in terrible crime shows. Occasionally, over Banagher's shoulder, he'll belt out an enthusiastic: Subject in custody! Custody! 10-4! Followed by a convincing recreation of a police car's siren. ]

I don't think I've ever skipped that much class by sleeping and not felt really awful about it. Trade-off for finding out you're not going to die of an echoed back disease, I guess. Or be at risk to give it to anybody else, so... I'm just glad everyone else is going to be okay after all.

[ Despite being blunt about it, he's relieved. Really relieved. Slept his face off for like two days relieved. ]

Anyway, this appeared here when I went to Tuning Towers the first time.

[ Reaching over, Banagher picks up a white and gray helmet of some kind. When he slips it on, it sounds sturdy, but lightweight. He rights himself in the webcam's view and reaches up, hitting a concealed button on the right side. A red visor seamlessly hisses closed over his face. He hits it again, and it rises back up. ]

All the robot pilots in comic books and cartoons have pilot suits, right? I guess this might have been part of mine. Same colors and everything. There's some kind of symbol on it — here, let me switch. Does anyone recognize this?

non-ic cut for image! )

It's a long shot, I know, but if I really am remembering some kind of Earth from the future, a company that's made it all the way out into space might have gotten an early start, somewhere. [ Idly, he hits the visor button again. Yes he's still wearing it. ] Not much seems that impossible anymore.

[The video starts with a rather empty wall of an apartment with a light source directed at it and a piece of furniture in the corner of the frame. A few seconds pass without anything going on, except for a black streak of fur chasing after a ball toy. Off-screen, Xander's voice is heard and he sounds rather calm for the most part.]

I noticed that a lot of people were sharing what they got from the lights.

[He walks in to frame and is seen wearing a dark long-sleeved shirt and jeans, but he's not facing the camera. He's intentionally keeping his back to the recording to lower the chances of people identifying him. He makes his way over to the wall.]

...You could say I was reluctant to share, but, I was busy learning how to control it better.

[With that said, he brings a hand up to it and starts to merge with his own shadow against the wall. It takes a few moments before he's a silhouette against the wall, but he's facing the camera now -- not like it was very noticeable.]

I can also take the form of someone else's shadow and not just my own. I don't have anyone else here to demonstrate that, so, you'll have to take my word for it.

[He starts to move up to the ceiling, disappearing from the frame. A few moments later, a bit of a thump is heard from behind the camera and the video ends.]

[The video opens with the usual view of the wall above Thomas' couch. Riveting. Oddly, he looks really excited this time.]

Hey network, I have a ... favor to ask. So some of you might know my buddy Hajime, kinda tall, manages a Japanese restaurant in town, able to turn into a bugman.

[Thomas stops here to hold up a pretty silly photo of said person.]

Well, thanks to some of those stressful factors I just mentioned, I'm hoping to get him a date so he can unwind and enjoy himself. So, I come before you all today to ask for volunteers. He's a great guy and I'm sure he'd pay for dinner. I'm not sure what his tastes are so I guess we're accepting all applicants regardless of gender.

Speaking of his bug form, he seems to be perfectly willing to be pet if you're into that sort of thing. I'm looking at YOU ... girl from that last mine trip whose name escapes me.

[Thomas points at the screen, invoking an Uncle Sam image to help punctuate the point.]

Well, any takers? We only have so long before my distraction ends and he sees this.
