 Why do you stay here?  People in Locke mainly, but I suppose it goes out to people in Las Vegas too.

Especially people who weren't born here, those who don't have family here.  Having family here is a good reason!  Although I suppose you could try and move your family.

[It took her a while to work out what to say and she deleted a lot of personal information, but in the end decided that she wanted to see what people said without her guiding their answers.  Her family have been trying to convince her to come home, away from the danger again, and it's getting harder to convince them without admitting that she's caught up in everything.]

My parents live in Iowa, so definitely not born here. I stay for friends and students, other people from this network-- I don't want to leave them behind to the trouble we face every day, alone.

Plus, now that we remember some of our other selves and retain some limited aspects of whatever powers we have, leaving just feels like becoming less, somehow. I miss the sense of smell, in particular. It's always like something is not quite right.

I think that's why I want to stay too. I'd feel so bad leaving everyone to face it, even though I can't make that much difference being here either.

You know, I'd forgotten that we keep bits but lose bits if we go. I've not left since I discovered the network, or for a while before then. I think I'd end up missing my eye sight, maybe. But you got a good sense of smell? That's really useful! And understandable why you'd miss it too.

This is Mr. Lyall, the werewolf. So sense of smell and hearing, at this point. I'm hoping no change to my sight comes next, to be honest, this is enough to be going on with. I like both changes now, on the whole, it makes it impossible to sneak up on me under most circumstances, but a city of this size is really terribly loud.

Anyhow. I leave for many of the full moons, since I'm much more manageable outside the city, so I'm familiar with the changes by now.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think I make much of a difference, either. But just being here and standing together helps a little.

Oh, yes, that'd be really over whelming! Do you think you will get better sight? I think I prefer that to hearing! Doesn't it make it impossible to sleep with all the noise from the city? Maybe it's because I grew up in the country side, but it bothers me and my hearing's completely normal!

Leaving for the full moons is a good idea. Do you really change completely? I guess you must have somewhere safe to go outside the city?

Sorry if I'm being nosey! I just find the changes that everyone has really interesting! I know there's pros and cons to everything but somehow everything always sounds like it could be a lot of fun!

I don't mind. You're not being as nosy as those bloody reporters sniffing about, at least, and I don't mind sharing the basics.

I don't know about getting better sight. I did receive some magnifying lenses, so perhaps not, I shouldn't need such a thing if I had sight enhanced the same way my hearing and sense of smell is. I mostly sleep with earplugs, though I am getting used to the noise, rather the way one gets used to sleeping with a fan or a computer on, for example. That might help you, as well, having some kind of white noise in the background :)

I do change completely. I actually can change completely into a wolf at will, any time after sunset and before dawn, but the only time I'm dangerous is the full moon. That's why I leave, or else keep myself locked up with guards on the door, just in case. When I leave, I only change a little, but I bring a friend with me who can keep me contained regardless, just in case.
