closed log.
WHO: Soren/Sollux & Aria/Aradia.
WHAT: An outing.
WHEN: Friday October 4th, in the evening.
WHERE: In Locke, at a pizza place and then movies which they might not talk all the way through, because How Rude.
[ Aria's as prompt as she ever is with appointments; a few hours after school ends, and a while before the movie starts, she goes to pick Soren up in Mara's car, which is old and red and has a dangling sailor moon equivalent figure where some people put air fresheners or fuzzy dice. She shoots off a text to Soren once there, and spends the intervening time tapping out messages to other people, rapid-fire, though she'll drop the phone back into her purse whenever he comes out.
Further confusing the issue of What Are We Doing Right Now, Aria actually dressed up, in that she is not in her typical jeans-and-some-shirt combination, but opted for a black knee-length skirt and a red-and-black striped blouse. ...And then a pair of worn-out neon-pink sneakers with bored marker doodles over them that match nothing at all ever why does she own these, so never mind that.
She'll wave whenever Soren reaches the car, leaning over to open the passenger door from the inside. ]
Hey! Don't look in the back seat, Mara says all the clutter is necessary and if I try to tidy it up she'll do something to me. Well, she didn't say that in as many words, but there were threats and eye rolls and I decided not to risk it.

davin (who he had talked to because he was purposely vague with his dad, he wasn't sure his dad would want his 14-year old to go on a maybe date alone with a girl) had told him he should dress nice but not dress up, so when he does emerge from the house to go meet her, he's not really dressed much nicer than normal, just in some clean and nice fitting jeans and a shirt that (for once) doesn't have some sort of game logo on it, instead being just plain old blue with red stripes. yeah he kind of looks like a dork even when he's not wearing game stuff. he also has foregone his sunglasses (hard to see a movie with them!) and is wearing some of the normal old contacts bakura got him to cover his bizarre eyes.
anyway when he gets to the car he waves and smiles a little nervously before climbing in.]
Oh, well. That's fine, I don't need to look. [he just needs to try to hide his nervousness by smiling at her and trying to to fidget.]
You excited for the movie?
no subject
Those are actually pretty good - where'd you get them?
[ ...and then she realizes how vague a statement that was, and points to her eyes. ]
And yes, I am! I figured pizza first, movie second. Because, well. It's pretty much dinner time?
no subject
Oh, they're from someone on the network, they bought them for me to cover up. It's been great at school.
And that sounds great to me, I'm pretty hungry.

Sometimes I wonder at the number of people into cosplay on the network. Its a little curious!
...That said, the place isn't too far out. Well, that has nothing to do with the cosplay thing, it's just. You know. FYI?

[ This is apparently one of those times where she's just going to ramble for a bit. ]
Unless it were super greasy, which I promise it isn't.
sorry my tags are so slow tonight
Even if it was greasy it would still be hard to go wrong. It's pizza.
lol you don't have to apologize for that, i am cool with whatever speed
[ to prove it can be done??? or something??? but she's not actually being serious, and the fact that she laughs probably proves that. ]
...Ignore the fact I just said you can't, I changed my mind.
alright sweet

[ she hadn't been sure where that sentence was going, and makes a face, before flicking on her right turn signal.
did you want to go to pizza station alpha, soren, because apparently when aria said "futuristic pizza thing" she literally meant a pizza parlor themed to look like a space station with really questionable space-y music playing. and way too many neon signs.
you're welcome. feel free to take it all in as they pull into the parking lot. ]
no subject
[and then of course he sees that and makes a face like 'seriously' before snickering a little]
I thought you said it was only a little themed.
no subject
...Well.
...Okay, she wasn't sure she could sell the place in its full glory. She can barely convince her nerd friends to come here. ]
It is! I mean, well. The waiters don't dress up like robots?
[ do they dress up as anything else, is the question. ]
Okay, I never said I have refined tastes that aren't ridiculous. And if I did, I was lying to you. And if you fell for it, I don't know what to tell you but it's too late for you now?
[ Because NOW you're in the trap of...going to a pizza place with her? okay. ]
no subject
You're kind of ridiculous. Did you know that? [yeah now he's smiling a bit. sure it's probably tacky and lame but whatever that probably makes it... fun or something. right?]
no subject
It's a good thing you like ridiculous, then! It'd be boring otherwise. Right?
[ or more normal with less neon, which would probably be okay. Aria parks the car and gets out, come along we're doing this. ]
Also I can pretty much guarantee no one we know will be here, if you mind that. ...Probably. ...Now I'm trying to picture anyone we know here.
no subject
...Yeah you're probably right. I can't imagine anyone I know going here.
no subject
[ because she comes here. obviously. ]
And now you get to see the inside! [ She looks more than a little amused. ]
no subject
[he's looking a little amused too, and a little nervous as well, but of course readily falls into step with her to go in.]
I'm not really sure I want to see the inside any more. I'm a little scared.
no subject
I promise nothing's going to bite you inside! Probably.
[ She can't help herself. She goes to open the door to lead them into basically probably pizza planet from toy story because aria makes the best life choices. no one should ever let her plan a date. ]
no subject
...Okay, next time, I'm picking where we go.
no subject
[ WOW THOUGH, it's almost like he doesn't think this is OPTIMAL DATE LOCATION. ]
If you think you can top this!
[ anyone could ]

Either way they get seated without too much fuss, isn't that marvelous? ]
