WHAT: An outing.
WHEN: Friday October 4th, in the evening.
WHERE: In Locke, at a pizza place and then movies which they might not talk all the way through, because How Rude.

[ Aria's as prompt as she ever is with appointments; a few hours after school ends, and a while before the movie starts, she goes to pick Soren up in Mara's car, which is old and red and has a dangling sailor moon equivalent figure where some people put air fresheners or fuzzy dice. She shoots off a text to Soren once there, and spends the intervening time tapping out messages to other people, rapid-fire, though she'll drop the phone back into her purse whenever he comes out.

Further confusing the issue of What Are We Doing Right Now, Aria actually dressed up, in that she is not in her typical jeans-and-some-shirt combination, but opted for a black knee-length skirt and a red-and-black striped blouse. ...And then a pair of worn-out neon-pink sneakers with bored marker doodles over them that match nothing at all ever why does she own these, so never mind that.

She'll wave whenever Soren reaches the car, leaning over to open the passenger door from the inside. ]

Hey! Don't look in the back seat, Mara says all the clutter is necessary and if I try to tidy it up she'll do something to me. Well, she didn't say that in as many words, but there were threats and eye rolls and I decided not to risk it.

Well, I like things to be, you know, interesting. But after a certain point of weirdness it's sort of nice to go and do normal things? Like, okay, I like exploring and going to see anything that, you know, happens. [ vague references to buzzing towers. ] ...but I also haven't been to an actual movie in like a month because I've been distracted.

Oh. Yeah, I know what you mean. I mean mostly I've still been, you know. Doing normal things but, everything's a little overwhelming still.

We'll just have to do normal shit as much as we can then to make up for the bizarre shit.

I dunno, going to eat or just hanging out or video games or something? I'm sure we could find something.

I'm always up for stuff like that! I mean, unless I have track practice or a babysitting gig, but it's not like I'm booked to full.

Although you should probably stick to in person or text messages unless you want to be teased, apparently.

...Yeah. Even if I did though he'd just text me privately on the network to be an asshole. [he doesn't sound too upset about it though. a little resigned though maybe.]

One or the other. Or maybe just finding some other way to be obnoxious. He's actually really good at it, which is annoying. [he's actually not sounding annoyed by it and also sounds amused. somehow people being annoying isn't actually annoying or something.]

You don't sound annoyed, you know. I think you like arguing with him, actually.

It is fun, okay. He's a weirdo but he's actually pretty cool.

Well. I might have agreed that we were probably past life brothers. Does that count?

I think that counts. You have a sister - you know how siblings are. Or I would give you some wise-sounding one-liner about siblinghood right now.

...Well. I would attempt it, anyway. Past life brothers, huh?

Yeah. I mean it's all we can think of, you know? I dunno, it's kinda cool thinking maybe I had a brother at one point. Even a really weird one.

Big siblings are pretty neat to have around. Even if they're occasionally ridiculous. Did you guys remember something?

No, but I dunno, we don't really have any other explanation for why we look like twins except for the age thing or why all our pulsechoes are the same except for memories. It makes it a little less weird and creepy too, you know? It's sort of just... a working theory, I guess.

If I met someone who had all that in common with me, I'd probably go with the same theory. Well, that or "clone", but I also watch syfy movies a lot, so you can't blame me for that one.

Well yeah, clones is a choice too, but I like brothers better. It's less weird.

That's something to look forward to, then! For a given value of look forward to. I might even be a little jealous! I don't suppose robots get family.

Well they might, who even knows? Robots are weird I think so maybe they do have robo-families.

I'll put it on my Christmas wishlist. "Robo-family". Although that would be skipping ahead a few holidays, including my favorite.
