Arthur York
Amazon had been Arthur's most visited site for roughly a month before Valentine's day. He put a daily alarm in his phone that reminded him to check for any deals he could find on the site. It was his first Valentine's Day with a girlfriend--and the first Valentine's Day he ever had in which he felt he would really be happy.

In the end, he went with earrings he thought she would like. Emi had really begun to embrace her vampiric appearance and while he thought getting her a dress that would have proper openings for her wings would be nice--he realized that was a present that would spoil itself when he asked for her measurements.

Plus, he wasn't sure if it was a faux pas to ask for her measurements. Admittedly, he didn't even know what a faux pas was. Arthur waited in Emi's room, the earrings wrapped somewhat poorly in a little case with heart-patterned wrapping paper.

Doppel!Arthur
Valentine's day was something he didn't think much of, but he realized it would be poor show if he didn't do anything about it. Dropping his investigation for the moment and deciding that bothering translators to speak to some of the more rustic folks in the area exhausted him mentally, Arthur decided to find a gift for Emilia the best way he could: simply by asking someone in one of the local stores. He knew his expertise was limited and that clerks often-times could tell people what were their most sought after items.

He found out that plush toys were the most popular, but he realized that very few stores had plush bats. When he managed to find one, it was just a bat--not at all themed for Valentine. So, he bought a plush bear that had a red heart sewn to it, removed the heart and sewed the heart onto the bat. Unlike his counterpart, Arthur took the time to look up how to sew properly before he risked ruining his project. When he was done, he found a bouquet of roses and candies in a gift store, wrapping the lot of it up into a basket.

He called Emilia and left her a message, waiting for her to answer.

It was a bittersweet reunion, she noticed, but she was focused more on the sweet, and tried to keep his mind off the main reason he came back. And ultimately back to her. And if she knew the lengths he's gone to make sure he remembers her...

"I would have waited an eternity my love... my knight... my prince." She leaned in close, her lips barely brushing against his...

"King and Queen."

Gold eyes shut, Arthur kissing Emilia the moment she drew in close. Months ago, he would have hesitated. Drawn up to code, he felt he was getting exceptionally good at it. A smile formed on his cheeks at that same time.

Emi's crimson eyes slid shut in turn as her lips were met with his own, a smile also forming on her face as she slips her arms around her boyfriend.

These kisses were always sure to remind her how she felt about him. And it was a kiss she gives freely.

Though the watch became less and less important to him as Emilia kissed him back, he thought better than to toss it. He gently set it aside and replaced it with Emilia's side, drawing her in close as he kissed her. For the moment, it wasn't a kiss out of passion as usual--it was something he thought had to be romantic.

It was simply something more chaste on her end too, she doesn't let herself get carried away with the kiss. Right now, she just wanted to be with him.

Arthur drew away first, giving Emilia a wide sort of smile, his hands settling on hers and gripping them softly. There were many things he expected to get out of life and fortunately, he hadn't gotten any of them. Everything he had gotten up to that point was unexpected and, most definitely, for the best.

"You're the best person in the world."

"My love," she whispers, using her birth language once again. The tone of her voice, the way she readily took his hands with her own and the truly love-struck expression she had should make her meaning obvious.

She switches back to English, "Nobody else compares to you."

The moment Emilia let her words drift into another language, Arthur was forced to focus just a little more. It wasn't for any other reason other than to see if he remembered those words and what they meant. In that case, he did remember that particular term.

Smiling, he realized he probably didn't even need to guess the meaning to know what she had said.

"I don't know about that, but I feel pretty great every time you tell me."

Back to English like it was nothing, now...

"So, when the time comes for you to ask that special question... I'll say yes."

It was Arthur's first inclination, as always, to say embarrassing things and make a mess of himself, visually. In an instant--

"I do," he began, realizing how terrible wrong he had gotten such a basic statement. "I mean--I thought we were already sayin' we'd do it--would you marry me?"

Will you?

He added, retroactively: "...Will you?"

"Will I indeed...?"
She draws in close, embracing him tightly so she could easily whisper in his ear. After a moment of making him wait, she gives her answer.

"Yes. I will."

"So, uh," Hugging Emilia in return, Arthur leg his hands hang over the small of her back somewhat loosely. He set his face in the crook of her neck, smiling.

"Y'know, this is my first valentine's day."

That got a bit of an eyebrow raise. She should have known that this was the case with him.

"Oh? Then it's the first of many."

"They don't all gotta be this good," He admitted, knowing it would probably be more stress for himself than Emilia to make things amazing each year. Still--

"So long as you're with me for them, Valentine's Day could be the worst day of the year and I'd still be happy."

"They will, as long as I have a say in it."

He's got quite a bit to learn, but Emilia would teach him. Like what sort of things that would be most appropriate.

"Oh," He started, hands set on his lap suddenly, a pleased look smitten on his face.

"You wanna go out tonight, then? Since everybody's out tonight, we oughta grab something."

"Yes, I would. Perhaps I'll show you a place in Locke I like to go to..."

Which pretty much means that it's going to be very fancy. There's plenty of places to go to in Vegas, though. Sat beside him, she leaned up against him affectionately...

There must have been a dress code. Arthur felt happy he at least addressed the clothing issue early.

"I'm makin' a killing online, y'know. I could definitely spend some time picking out somethin' nice to wear, too."

He wouldn't readily admit he put Pimmsleur on his phone to try and learn Romanian. Baby steps!

Almost certainly. It helped that the place was run by the sort of people that had known her family personally since they came to America.

"I might have a few ideas about that..."

"Oh," As if realizing something critical, Arthur looked to Emilia with a bit of a drop in his jaw.

"That place--would it be one where you'd have to put your name on the list like a week in advance? Like a movie?"

"Naturally."

He would have to be on his best behavior, though. No embarrassing her in front of everyone.
