{002} LOG: Sightseeing in Neuschwanstein, Slumming in Vegas [OPEN]

What: Misa goes to the castle to investigate a sudden personality switch/doppelganger phenomena. Doppel!Misa, meanwhile, skulks about the castle grounds trying to avoid conversation and find something interesting to do. Doppel!Misa can also be found in Vegas.

Option 1: Normie

Misa had never imagined that she might wind up in Germany of all places, barely a week after her long anticipated journey to the United States. But thanks to her introduction to teleportation technology (what) here she was, possibly having left her stomach back in the States. But despite the lingering queasiness and spinning in her head from having just undergone the impossible, Misa approached the castle at a brisk pace. There was too much excitement to do anything else. Echoes, Others, a teleporter, and now doppelgangers? Every day Misa half convinced herself that she was on the receiving end of the most elaborate prank in human history. But she wasn't, because this was all real, and she was going to be the one to solve these mysteries and bring them to the public! Starting with why a man who looked an awful lot like Lazarus had shown up on the network in Germany (and wearing a Hawaiian T-Shirt), when Misa knew him to be elsewhere (and of a different aesthetic). If the answers to this new phenomena were anywhere, they would be at this castle.

Option 2: Doppel

This place was exceedingly boring. Too many people talking and nothing to do; Misa's personal hell. Doing her best to avoid the various loud groups surrounding her, Misa hugged the wall and kept her head down, throwing off every don't talk to me vibe she knew. She was not drunk enough to deal with being in this place. One of those things needed to change.

"Flower...?" Misa trails off as the voice clicks into place. She had imagined it coming out of a little girl when they spoke on the network. And here it is... coming out of a puppy. Had she seriously been talking to a dog back then? How? Dogs can't operate phones! Or talk, but, how the dog managed to punch in numbers is curious as well.

"You're the girl I talked to on the network?"

"Yes!" Yay, someone recognized her as a girl! That makes a happy puppy. She's mistaken for a boy waaaay too often. Seriously, can't people see that she's obviously a girl?

Donk donk donk goes a little tail. Very nice, Misa.

Misa slowly sits back up, obviously perplexed. The puppy sounds like a little girl. Was she... turned into a dog? Or is it the other way around?

"It's nice to meet you in person," she says at length. "Sorry, you surprised me."

"Because I'm not a boy?" She's a bit stuck with this idea (why should being a dog be weird, after all). Uhm... also starting to circle around Misa to have a closer look at her. "Where were you going?"

"No- because I didn't know you looked like this," Misa corrects, choosing her words carefully. The dog doesn't particularly look like either a boy or a girl in her eyes, but the voice is enough to give it away. Her eyes follow the puppy around, looking her over too.

"I was going to see the castle. Are you here all by yourself?" Dog or not, surely she's too young to be allowed out and about on her own.

"I was with my mistress but then I got lost... but then I found her again. She's really weird right now, though." And here she looks really sad and unsure. Her mistress kicked her and laughed at her and didn't want to have her around anymore, and she just doesn't understand, she didn't do anything!

Misa is not an expert on dog expressions, but her interest is piqued none the less. She tries to smile reassuringly. "Weird like, she's acting like a totally different person?"

She nods. Like, nods as if she was a human. "Yes. She's not nice and all, and she laughs a lot."

[lovesickkiller]

"That must be scary," Misa says sympathetically, reaching out to pat her on the head before it occurs to her that it might be a weird thing to do. "Uh, it might not actually be who you think it is! The reason I came here is to investigate doubles showing up."

It certainly doesn't seem to be a weird thing to Floweregg who pushes her head against Misa's hand and seems rather happy with this development. "What do you mean, she's not who she is? She smells like my mistress."

Encouraged by her reaction, Misa gently scratches behind Floweregg's ears. "These doubles look, smell and sound exactly like our friends, but they're different people. And from what I've seen, they act very differently too. But that doesn't mean they can't fool us. If your mistress was mean all of a sudden, there's a chance it was her double instead."

"...Why are they here?"

That sounds terrible. That is, on the one hand it is good to hear that her actual mistress is okay and will be fine and that things between them will be fine, but on the other hand... That makes things really complicated and means that there are a lot more mean people around.

"I don't know yet," Misa says apologetically. "But that's one of the things I came here to find out. I'm sure that some of them will be willing to talk to us."

...She doesn't want to go back there. But then she also wants to find out, what if this is dangerous?

So in the end she puts her front paws on Misa's leg. Pick her up!

"I will come with you. maybe we can find out more together than alone."

Misa is surprised by Floweregg inviting herself along, but she doesn't object, lifting the puppy up and cradling her against her chest. Human or canine, she sounds and thinks like a little girl. Misa can't just leave her alone out here.

"That sounds like a great idea."

Floweregg isn't so sure if the idea is great, but she's still determined to see this through, so she just nods and lets herself be carried.
