Something really weird's going on, I don't know what's causing it. Something's changing the way we're acting? What if it affects me too? It can't be echoes, can it? It doesn't sound like echoes.

[He hasn't had a long acquaintance with Emi. They only spoke once, and much of his knowledge of her is based on what he's seen in network backlogs. She does not do her own posts in text, and even when she's speaking though that medium, she never sounds so . . . uncertain. It's enough to know that something is wrong.

[Not that seeing Lily's post hadn't tipped him off, but she's kind of terrifying and he's not engaging that.]
