❧ 015 ❧ Video, laptop webcam
[The video starts with a shot of an apartment kitchen, with its counters filled with several containers of sweet and savory baked goods. Someone had gone on another baking spree after recent events, but chose to remain out of the picture. A black tail is seen at the bottom of the frame, swishing slightly as it brushes up against a lower cupboard before a meow is heard and the cat walks away.]
If you were around the last time I made a post like this, then you know what I'm about to offer. For those who don't, I've made a bit too much and I'm willing to share this to the network. I already gave a large portion of what I made to the people working on rebuilding Las Vegas a few days ago. But, I'm unable to leave Locke for the time being since the 'teleporter' is presently inaccessible. Sorry.

I want to do other things. Set up a proper intelligence center, up security, outfit it with beds and medical supplies and make it a sort of defacto headquarters for the Numbered of Locke City. But it needs a lot of work yet, so... that's where I'll probably be for a lot of the time in the foreseeable future.
[Voice]
I hope everything goes according to plan.
[Voice]
[If there is disdain or anger in his voice, he does a good job keeping it to a bare minimum trace.]
Thank you. I don't feel I can stop working even though my body has been asking me to for a long time... there's simply too much to do.
[Voice]
I take it some of your co-workers are insisting that you get some rest before you end up in the hospital for neglecting yourself?
[Voice]
[Xander, don't ask silly questions.]
I'm taking the rest I need.
[Voice]
...Of course. [But he won't comment further about that.]
By talking to me? Not a lot of people would consider that resting.
[Don't worry L, he's still on his way over!]
[Voice]
That's not what I mean, Xander. There are places I can lie down.
[The floor, specifically. He's done that a couple times in the last few days, not always intentionally.]
[Voice]
It doesn't sound like there would be many places to rest in the building or be very comfortable either.
[Voice]
Well... luckily I'm pretty good at getting comfortable in places a lot of people wouldn't expect.
[Xander it's SO awkward when he gets called out.]
[Voice]
[Don't worry L, that second entity reveals themselves with a meow before purring in to the device his owner was using.]
Connor, stop that, please. [There's a meow of protest before the cat was moved and Xander was back up on his feet.]
As I was saying, that might worry your co-workers. What if they can't find you?
[Voice]
My employees know that they can contact me at any point if they have any problems or concerns. Torin's a very competent manager, though, so there shouldn't be any of those, barring a crisis.
[And by his calculations, the next crisis isn't for, at least, a little while yet.]
[Voice]
[There's a small twang from a hanger having a jacket removed.]
I've spoken to Torin recently. He is rather persistent. [A small chuckle escapes him before another meow is heard.]
[Voice]

[Voice]
I did a long time ago, but it wasn't much back then. I plan on changing that.

[His tone is rather somber before he changes subjects.]
I'm not very far from the building now. I'll see you in a few minutes.
Action
The school is old and dusty but not nearly so ramshackle as it was when L started, and he'll be easy to locate. All Xander has to do is follow the sound of hammering in one of the upstairs classrooms, where L is putting up drywall.]
no subject
...L?
[He made sure he could be heard over the sound of construction as he makes his way towards the room and tries to avoid tripping on any cords or tools.]
no subject
[The response is quick; he turns to greet Xander when his footsteps bring him close to where he's working.]
Glad you could make it. What do you think of our new digs? Not too bad, right?
no subject
...It wasn't hard to get here, but thank you for inviting me over. [As for the question, he busies himself with opening the box.] The place has a certain atmosphere to it. Are you planning on removing some of it with the renovations?
no subject
Only what I have to. It doesn't have to be pretty, just relatively functional. Comfortable enough. I'm going to live here and maybe others if they need a place...
[He takes a break to swallow, going back to the drywall where's he's left his thermos full of... coffee, naturally.]
