[Liam's looking rather excited and shocked today when he turns on the laptop in his hotel room. It's apparent that he wants to look at the camera to speak to the network, but he's also unable to take his eyes off of whatever it outside the window to the side... which in this case is everything.]

Guys, guys... you will not believe this! I can see like... forever!

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that! Was it during the monster attack...?

[A beat.]

Did they give you painkillers? [Is that why you're high, Liam, is what she thinks.]

[...Well this is an embarrassing question.]

Um... no. [He hesitates.] I kind of fell down some stairs, but in my defense it was dark and the steps were made for much shorter people. Also they were made of stone.

No drugs though, I'm more of a natural remedy kind of guy. Just athelas when I need it.

Oh...

[She shifts her gaze around a little bit. Well. This is awkward.]

So long as you're okay then, but...

...athelas? That's... not some sort of slang word, is it...?

[. . .]

Slang? Why would it be slang?

[The ears should be a tip off.]

No, it's an Elvish word. It's Elf medicine.

...OH! Medicine!

[Whew.] I was afraid that was some weird sort of drug...

Err... I mean, um.

[Um?]

UM.

[Slightly defensive.]

Oh my God, why does everybody think I'm on drugs?

I'M SORRY!

[Slightly frantic. Really, SHE'S VERY SORRY.]

It's just- the way you were talking...!

I've sat in on teacher staff meetings planning anti-drug seminars! IT WAS VERY FAMILIAR!

[Liam sighs.]

It's okay, you're not the first to think that.

[Pause.]

Oh yeah, how's that going for you? Did you find a job in Vegas?

St- still... I shouldn't have assumed...

[Ahem.]

That's been a bit difficult, since the city's still recovering. Although... I guess the casinos are already starting to plan on capitalizing on that one.

Are they? Like, what, rebuilding new casinos, or are they hiring us numbered as side show attractions?

Well... the rebuilding, yes. Knowing Vegas, I wouldn't be surprised if it's both, though.

Well, I guess there are a few of us who look weird enough... but using us for sideshows isn't cool. If they're rebuilding though, maybe I can bring it up at work and see if we can get them to go sustainable.

Well, I'd at least hope they don't go that far. Or if they try to, no one really... goes for it.

[Who is she kidding, someone inevitably would.]

I imagine there's some good opportunities for work with everything that went down, at least. Even with places rebuilding, I imagine there's a good number of people relocating from the strip, too.

Probably yeah. Well, I'll just keep going at my regular job. They're letting me work from home - or you know, Vegas.

[Of course, being the CEO's nephew probably had something to do with that.]

[A slight laugh.] Ahhh, that's lucky! But good, also. I'm glad this all hasn't put everyone out...

Nah, I'm not worried about losing my job at all.

[Again, Uncle is the CEO.]

All I do is orders and stuff. I do like... data entry, and then sometimes I call people and see if they want parts or want us to build anything.

Well, at least it sees simple enough! I guess the question is, do you enjoy it?

[Liam actually pauses, because it's something he hadn't really thought about in depth.]

Um... well, all work kind of sucks. It's not too bad though. I liked it better last summer when I could go down to the building sites and stuff, but now it's mostly the paperwork. It's a family company, and it does good work for the environment, so I guess I'm okay being there.

That's not always true! I enjoy- [A brief pause.] -well, enjoyed my job. Still, if you at least do good work, that's nice to hear.
